Taylor Downing Kyu Sakamoto is probably one of my favorite artists. I’m 17 and from the US, but his music speaks to me. He is the reason I long to see the world. To be able to inspire such praise from an audience on the other side of the world, that’s true influence, and he did that through his music.

The record company likely thought that a second song in Japanese wouldn't sell, because the novelty would have worn off, and while the melody is good, it's not remotely as catchy as "Sukiyaki", which is a tune that once you hear it, stays with you always.
I loved the catchy tune of his popular release when I was a teenager. As a senior citizen, I found Kyu Sakamoto’s performance in Brazil. I share the clip frequently, even with the sound break near the end. That clip is my all time favorite.
You are right about Sukiyaki, I remember hearing it while I was in the car with my grandpa some 10 or 12 years ago, I remember the melody and I looked it up on RUclips, it was hard but I managed to find it and now it's more or less my comfort song

You are right about Sukiyaki, I remember hearing it while I was in the car with my grandpa some 10 or 12 years ago, I remember the melody and I looked it up on RUclips, it was hard but I managed to find it and now it's more or less my comfort song
