You know what, I’ve had mine for more than a year now. It’s the same exact unit as yours but for some reason the amplifier wire is labeled as “brake” on mine so imagine I’ve had my amplifier hooked up to the accessory wire for more than a year. When I saw your video I immediately hooked it up the that wire and boom, I can now turn my amp on and off thru the headunit. Thanks!

It's plays the music lower when the GPS gives instruction when using Google I haven't tried any other good apps yet.not sure bout ur other questions I just got it installed last nite.i think if u used an obdii app it would use a Bluetooth obdii device but not positive.radio has tons of stuff for price
You need to buy a obd2 to usb. Bluetooth obd2 units DONT work with this. Also its very slow .. So if you want to play music while on Google maps it will get glitchy
I remember when these were like $300 plus a couple years back. That’s around what I paid for mine when I had my maxima. They’ve come a long way from how radios used to be nowadays.

Gino Foogle yeah I got a Chinese android head unit for my radio that was 100% plug and play, like literally just plugged into my factory connector. No wiring kits, nada. Works great and has way more features than any pioneer or kenwood and looks completely stock
only old heads want a CD player. Nothing wrong with that. I just havent had a CD in years. Dont even listen to Radio. Most people just need a usb/memory or phone link/ AUX. so this is perfect. but idk about the 1GB RAM . granted my current touch screen radio probably has a fraction of that and worked perfect for 8 years i Wont need any apps, just usb playback. Definetly looking into it.

i recently installed this and im not sure if it's a more updated version, but it has quickboot which starts it up nearly instantly, highly recommend this system
Great review. Hard to believe how fast things change. My unit came quod core, Android 10 for $83 delivered off eBay July 2020 and it boots instantly and works awesome. I love it. Was here in a week. Still discovering all the great features. TY.
Never trust a Bench look at a head unit .. Throw it in a car in the middle of the summer and see if the unit shuts down on you or starts failing to do what its asked to do..See if the road shock doesn't keep resetting the start up menu .. this unit is $90 however i seen the same lookalike model for $25 shipped from China Which is 1 of 2 things Ether you can get a cheaper head unit from China ....Or They are all made by the same company which only changes a few things for each 200,000 units made like the name and left side button to right side And Online sellers buy a few and bump up the price to catch a profit almost 4 times the worth ..Ebay is full of these ..oh and if you get one that never worked in the first place....Sooo sorry no English
So I figured out the backup camera now the factory amp. It was already wired for an aftermarket with the adapter and everything so I can't figure out why all the speakers won't work. speakers don't work.
I use one of these under the name Carlaoer and it was 60$ in Ali express. MK4 VW Bora / Jetta Had to modify the brackets slightly but it’s a flush fit.
I want to buy it in Ali Express, same Brand than yours, Is it a good equipement? Does buil-in microphone works OK, can an external microphone be conected to the equipement to be use during phone calls? Really apreciate your help. Thanks

Stay away from this unit it’s garbage and it will not last, i Install stereos for a living and I install these units all the time and they are trash and don’t last,the touchscreen is laggy and the interface is a joke

I have the same. There is just one problem: volume! It is hard to control it if you don’t have control on your wheel. And I don’t have one. But is is a good radio for who is not into music devices. (Sorry for my english)
just a heads up for people who want to buy android units. Check with seller how long to start the system and screen luminosity specs. Thats normally where cheap units wont be able to compete.
Google map does not need internet all the time. in your setting there are offline maps, please download the map of your region while you are connected to the internet and then you can use that as a default map with the GPS antenna connected modules.. So try and enjoy

Was watching and heard you mention about not being able to connect you ASUS phone to the android unit. I ran into this problem with my Samsung S7 Edge phone and the android unit I got for me car, as well. I was able to connect other Android and Iphones to my android unit, but not my Android smartphone.... UNTIL... I backed up all my data on my phone and then did a factory reset on my phone (mainly because I noticed my phone was starting to run slow) and after the reset of my phone (and not downloading all the apps I use to have on my phone) I was able to connect my Samsung S7 Edge smartphone to my android unit finally. So, I would recommend you trying to do a factory reset on your android phone and see if this solves the problem? Yes, I'm sure you were only doing a demo on this video so whether or not your phone connecting is important or not, you might still want to do a factory reset on your phone just to get it running smoothly again and even in the future when trying to connect to other Android units, you won't run into this connection problem. Also, I'm posting this to your channel as well just for those who are watching and who end up having this same issue, then they''[ know what to try and do to get their phones to work with this and other android head units.

itRIX49 I've got my ps classic linked up via HDMI to rca converter, then rca to back of unit no stress. As long as you can connect and power the unit you should be able to connect anything via RCA . Not sure about second question

Adrian Wolf because it's not the full map, it's a online unit, my GPS works fine, you need offline maps to tell you where your going.. which is usually about 2Gb+ give or take

You don't need those, just connect the red wire from your camera to the wire which is marked as "reverse". I don't know what those 2 red wires on the RCA connector are for ...
I am confused about steering wheel buttons. Is there a cable coming from steering wheel? And if yes I have to connect one in ground and the other one on the brown cable behind monitor? and then how do I assign from the settings?

When factory fitted original unit removing time there is a wiring coming from steering wheel controls then this unit fixing time you can connect those connections to this unit...but some models we have to calibrate those switches with new head unit...
Am going to do mine very soon.steering wheel control.(swc) I have very similar radio if not the same. 2 wires back of radio labeled key 1 and key 2. That's what u use. Connect to the wires that change voltage when hitting steering buttons. Then can program what they do in radio. That's what I have researched.can use program for volume or open apps etc.skip tracks.. or whatever.
@@axl5190 turns out need aftermarket kit to make it work. My headunit has only 2 wires for steering control. Labeled key 1 and key 2. Also there isn't any 3.5 jack anywhere on it.kit is probably $30. I'll just use volume on radio control.
I have aftermarket android radio 9.0, having trouble with picking up radio signals. All proper cable antenna connected. Is there a radio country region?

these types of head units are ok for grandmas mini van but without separate pre-amp outputs or at the very least a separate sub-woofer output they are not worth much to a real audiophile .....
There arent a lot of real audiophiles out there anyways, bassheads....yeah. Most bassheads run a single set of rcas into an EQ or DSP anyway so you dont need 6 channels on the RCA output section. And because of that, the output voltage doesnt need to be high either, 2v or so would be just fine if thats what this thing is rated at.
Hey, I'm looking to get a head unit similar to this. Do you have any experience installing these devices in Ford Explorers? I can't seem to find many made specifically for my 2017 vehicle, so I might need a generic/ universal model. It be nice to see a tutorial specifically for Ford Explorer.
What!!! $400 500 I seen a lot of good android units under $300 not sure which ones you are looking at. If I was going to drop that much on an android unit I would just go with a pioneer or kenwood unit.

Super useful video. I just got a 9" version with centre AC vent frames also part of the setup. Has similar user interface as your test. Just a different homescreen setup. I have issues downloading the Tima app as well. I really need it as there are lots of apps I can't get on the Play store due to the version of Android b on this unit so Mirroring my phone successfully will be my best option
I went to the website you said with the link you provided and I think this website is from overseas. Every time you click on any little thing to check the specs or anything from that website for that matter it copied links to your clipboard. Also they misspelled the words "Built" they spelled it "Build. Like build in Bluetooth etc etc! The website is kinda fishy to me.
That is the same unit seicane is selling for $69, it's ok but I removed it and replaced it with a better unit that had 4 channel RCA and sub out. Also the newer Android 8 models allow you to use nav as well as other music apps or radio at the same time, it makes the map small so you can still see it. The also will come with better CPU, more ram and more storage.

I bought this head unit through ebay. I also cannot get screen mirroring to work, even downloading their dodgy app. Have messaged the seller and provided video evidence and they basically said that it won't screen mirror and offered a $20.00 refund. Buyer be warned.
@@ShadowFreddy612 No sim card slot in this head unit. The point is, it is advertised as being able to screen mirror to and you can't. Hands free call quality is terrible as well. You also cannot install Android Auto onto it as it say it isn't compatible.
I've had an Xtrons head unit for almost a year and couldn't get the mirroring to work. decided to give it one last attempt and still didn't work... then........ when doing it you need to turn USB debugging on, that's all I could find online... make sure that's on. but for some reason I decided to hit 'revoke USB debugging authorisations',.. because why not? you need the debugging on so why let your phone revoke the authorisation your stereo wants. I now have screen mirroring

Allmost same unit for sale at Bangood..From were i ordered one.Works fine..Exept for:Wery difficult to install,due to it's size,must have some support at the back of unit to not going too deep in the mounting.No RDS either,wich is a "must",at least were i live..

@@jbarah05 wayyyy back when I had a blaupunkt that did around 2.3 on a meter. It was actually ok. Not great, but ok. I'm now running an old school pioneer premier with 5 volt outs. But yeah, I tend to agree. It's freaking 2019, give us a solid 4 volts or go home and shave with Gillette.

Yes 1 gb of ram is a bit slow..i have samsung tablet tab 2 10.1..nice early purchase into tablets at the time but relised how slow 1 gig of ram is now. My mobile has 2gig of ram galaxy s4 i think min should be 2gig...amazing how the phone runs against the tablet.. i like this head unit but 1 gig of ram is a pity really.

Far too many reviews online of this sort of stuff are so unclear or the guys seem to think its cleaver to almost speak a foreign technical language or have totally unrelated music playing in the back ground. . Good review..well done !! I would have liked to have seen it connect to home wifi and bluetooth phone in real time. May be even see it download a different sat nav app as this is one of the main reasons people may upgrade to these devices.

There is something to be said for redbook audio. Only thing that comes close is massive flac files.

If you need more than one volt pre out, hi S/N ratio and wide band frequency responce, this unt in not for you.

the steering functions are shit, not worth hacking up all the oem wires to this unit

itRIX49 I've got my ps classic linked up via HDMI to rca converter, then rca to back of unit no stress. As long as you can connect and power the unit you should be able to connect anything via RCA . Not sure about second question

Why would you need an internet connection for google maps or Waze if you this unit if it has a gps module?
Adrian Wolf because it's not the full map, it's a online unit, my GPS works fine, you need offline maps to tell you where your going.. which is usually about 2Gb+ give or take
I use "Offline Maps & Navigation" from the Play Store. You only need the net to update certain features. Google it
You can use the maps from nokia it is called here maps, it is free and does not need internet connection to work.

For the back up camera input harness there is the yellow RCA connector and then the two wires, which is the trigger wire and what does the other do?
You don't need those, just connect the red wire from your camera to the wire which is marked as "reverse". I don't know what those 2 red wires on the RCA connector are for ...
Can one of the music players be used while the GPS is in use?
I used Bluetooth and played Pandora and the Google maps ran just fine

9218 is a cheap one. if you need get more quality one, Allwinner T3 or Allwinner T8 is a better option.

How to connect the steeringwheel control?
When factory fitted original unit removing time there is a wiring coming from steering wheel controls then this unit fixing time you can connect those connections to this unit...but some models we have to calibrate those switches with new head unit...
Am going to do mine very soon.steering wheel control.(swc) I have very similar radio if not the same. 2 wires back of radio labeled key 1 and key 2. That's what u use. Connect to the wires that change voltage when hitting steering buttons. Then can program what they do in radio. That's what I have researched.can use program for volume or open apps etc.skip tracks.. or whatever.

@@axl5190 turns out need aftermarket kit to make it work. My headunit has only 2 wires for steering control. Labeled key 1 and key 2. Also there isn't any 3.5 jack anywhere on it.kit is probably $30. I'll just use volume on radio control.

these types of head units are ok for grandmas mini van but without separate pre-amp outputs or at the very least a separate sub-woofer output they are not worth much to a real audiophile .....

There arent a lot of real audiophiles out there anyways, bassheads....yeah. Most bassheads run a single set of rcas into an EQ or DSP anyway so you dont need 6 channels on the RCA output section. And because of that, the output voltage doesnt need to be high either, 2v or so would be just fine if thats what this thing is rated at.
Hey, I'm looking to get a head unit similar to this. Do you have any experience installing these devices in Ford Explorers? I can't seem to find many made specifically for my 2017 vehicle, so I might need a generic/ universal model. It be nice to see a tutorial specifically for Ford Explorer.
What!!! $400 500 I seen a lot of good android units under $300 not sure which ones you are looking at. If I was going to drop that much on an android unit I would just go with a pioneer or kenwood unit.

Super useful video. I just got a 9" version with centre AC vent frames also part of the setup. Has similar user interface as your test. Just a different homescreen setup.
I have issues downloading the Tima app as well. I really need it as there are lots of apps I can't get on the Play store due to the version of Android b on this unit so Mirroring my phone successfully will be my best option
I went to the website you said with the link you provided and I think this website is from overseas. Every time you click on any little thing to check the specs or anything from that website for that matter it copied links to your clipboard. Also they misspelled the words "Built" they spelled it "Build. Like build in Bluetooth etc etc! The website is kinda fishy to me.
It has a lot of good reviews on TrustPilot. Could be paid for of course, but maybe worth the risk.

Download offline Google map can be the solution.
That is the same unit seicane is selling for $69, it's ok but I removed it and replaced it with a better unit that had 4 channel RCA and sub out. Also the newer Android 8 models allow you to use nav as well as other music apps or radio at the same time, it makes the map small so you can still see it. The also will come with better CPU, more ram and more storage.
No RDS on FM which makes it unattractive to me.

@@soupremo1 Radio Date Systeme. It gives station name and can retunning to different radio station with the same program if the transmitter gets weak. And switch to traffic announcements automatically

I bought this head unit through ebay. I also cannot get screen mirroring to work, even downloading their dodgy app. Have messaged the seller and provided video evidence and they basically said that it won't screen mirror and offered a $20.00 refund. Buyer be warned.

@@ShadowFreddy612 No sim card slot in this head unit. The point is, it is advertised as being able to screen mirror to and you can't. Hands free call quality is terrible as well. You also cannot install Android Auto onto it as it say it isn't compatible.
I've had an Xtrons head unit for almost a year and couldn't get the mirroring to work. decided to give it one last attempt and still didn't work... then........ when doing it you need to turn USB debugging on, that's all I could find online... make sure that's on. but for some reason I decided to hit 'revoke USB debugging authorisations',.. because why not? you need the debugging on so why let your phone revoke the authorisation your stereo wants. I now have screen mirroring

Yes 1 gb of ram is a bit slow..i have samsung tablet tab 2 10.1..nice early purchase into tablets at the time but relised how slow 1 gig of ram is now. My mobile has 2gig of ram galaxy s4 i think min should be 2gig...amazing how the phone runs against the tablet.. i like this head unit but 1 gig of ram is a pity really.

Is the screen double din of the rear protruding portion double din?? Will the rear partuding portion of this unit squeeze into a 1.5 din opening?? I have a 1987 Chevrolet S10 the unit I will be replacing is 1.5 DIN.
1.5 din has a 3 in height and a double din has a 4 in height. The back of this unit will not fit.
