Hi @user-qd5ze1hp9f unfortunately with the diagnostic tool to activate the purge routine, you may not replace all of the fluid without it. The purge also ensures no air bubbles accumulate in the ABS pump which usually leads to a spongier pedal, and lower system performance.

Hi @bnellynel you are correct, during this purge sequence the ABS pump is quite loud. Luckily it is only for a short time 😊
Great bit of kit that seems to over complicate a relatively straight forward job. Tesla brake hydraulics are not special, thankfully.

Should be the same as for any vehicle. It’s all hydraulics. There is no electricity involved.
Some fluid ends up in the ABS. Need the computer to actuate it to cycle fluid through it.
Is there any issue with doing the job without a diagnostic tool?
