    A view from the UK. If you think this boat is not a racing boat without a sprayhood or hard top, you're gonna have to tell me what a 'Blue water' cruiser is. Where i come from the definition is:
    A bluewater sailing yacht is a type of sailboat or sailing vessel that is designed and built for extended offshore passages, capable of handling rough seas and adverse weather conditions. Rassy yes, Oyster yes, Amel yes, etc., etc, have the right cockpit design, not this. What happens with swells over 4m with waves breaking over the bow? They all look pretty in a showroom.

      As a west coast of Scotland sailor I would agree with all of your points on building a boat for harsh conditions. Arcona did a grand job in my opinion.
      The boat has an enormous Sprayhood, it just folds away under the coach roof so it’s flush when you want to put it away. The other thing I would suggest is that centre cockpits are a preference thing, having owned aft and centre cockpit boats I can certainly say I prefer aft. They just seem more comfortable at the helm in a big for me and I didn’t like being so high up, even on our old Najad 373 which had quite a low cockpit, but.. that’s preference.

      @@SailHub Thankyou for that. I've tried to find a video/picture of the boat with it up, can you recommend somewhere? Yes, i too prefer centre cockpits also. My reason is safety. To me it feels a safer proposition especially in rougher conditions. Great channel content BTW.

      @@robertstancer4469 yeah, a picture seems really tricky to find, I guess they want to show it’s Mediterranean perfection 😂.
      I can see why you would like a centre cockpit, and we went for the Najad 373 which was a great low cockpit sole in a centre cockpit. It was fab and we always felt safe.
      We moved to a Najad 332 and I liked the aft cockpit, it’s lower to the water line and we felt even safer, one of the reason most race boats have a cockpit at the back I suppose. The other advantage is that when the bow causes spray your further away from it say at the back.
      I guess it’s like everything, it’s a preference thing, mind you there is one thing I do miss with the centre cockpit! The palacios aft cabin! Simply awesome.
      Thanks for the compliments on our content! We’ve gone some interesting things coming along, slightly different but we will keep the usual stuff coming in too. 👍

    The biggest part of comfort on board is trustworthy safety: Arcona 460 IdaLina raises very, very uncomfortable questions that should be addressed ASAP.

    • @SailHub
      @SailHub  3 месяца назад

      Yeah, that’s a real concern there. I really want to know the story about that. They are built light though, for performance and thus not as strong as a typical blue water vessel. It does surprise me how many people feel like modern racer cruisers are going to be perfect for ocean crossing, it certainly wasn’t a common mindset 20 years ago.
      Anyhow, a great point made, thanks 👍

      The thing is, I did choose to be millionaires it just didn’t work out! Still, with some blood sweat and tears I will build something that I know will be of equal quality at a fraction of the cost!
      Long live the skint millionaire lifestyle, a boat, old clothes, no money and an attitude a millionaire can’t buy!

    Looks ugly and cheap. Inside more like an apartment which has been built in less than a year, than a boat. I like the older Arconas better!

    • @SailHub

      Each to their own. Mind you, I imagine they have had to find a way to make things with lower build costs just to stay in the market!
