Altengrad is a Cities: Skylines series where I build a Central European city. The series starts around the year 1920 and slowly advances forward in time, which means the city will naturally evolve all the way to modern times. The city is not a recreation of any real-life city, although the project is supposed to be closely realistic, so inspiration was drawn from various existing cities in Central Europe.
PC specs are in the channel's About page. No, the game doesn't run like this in real time. It is recorded slow and made faster in editing.

The german cities was the most bombed ones because they used the bombs to terrorise the citizens. Since this isnt germany it makes sense that only strategic bombing was used. If the city would have been german it would be realistic if like 2/3 of the center or more were completely pulverised.

Wow. Just wow. I didn't expect this to hit me as hard as it did, I realized I have become involved in the city and it's history, and I really FELT this on a visceral level. I had kind of halfway expected a sepia toned newsreel, but this was so much better.
The events are well enough known to speak for themselves, but watching it happen hit home much more than I would have expected, especially for me, as an American with no ties to the war in Europe.
My Father fought in the Philippines, so i am more familiar with the Pacific theater of the war.

The air attacks and explosions must surely have been something from outside of Paradox's CS game realm that you managed to incorporate in spectacular fashion.
I knew from the time you started this series, that these days in the evolution of Altengrad would surely come into play, but I never expected anything like this. It was already impressive up until this point, but now my mind is blown. You're the most creative CS builder (artist would also fit!) out there.
I will gladly continue watching the series, can't wait to be up to date. The only downside of that is I no longer will be able to binge the episodes and will have to wait for your new uploads, but oh it's worth the wait, I see it now!

Cities: Skylines machinima? I'm surprised. The video itself is amazing! You did a great work creating a city (or can I say you followed it during its growth?)! It's a masterpice

Also - I love that you went for East-German city, the combination of old German architecture and Soviet... "architecture" create a unique, let's say, canvas for a city.
And later, after USSR dissolves, it's gonna look amazing.

This is just wow. When they showed the map of placed targeted for bomding and the Palace was circled I was about to cry. Speaking on the Palace I wonder what will happen with the royal family. As well as something similar to Hungarian revolution against communist rule. This cinematic brought the city alive.

I'm amazed by the quality of this part. I had no idea you actually can do something like that in Cities. Just wonderful.

This is why you are one of my absolute favorite youtubers! This city is a masterpiece and the idea behind it is genius, pair that with your stellar execution of the first 50 episode and this awesome mini story showing such depth and history and you have the best cities skylines city in my opinion. Amazing job and I so so appreciate what must have been hard work for this episode. Every episode brings a smile on my face! I cant wait for 1940's!!

This is an impressive mini-film! The city looks a bit inspired from Budapest or Prague, it does have a central european flavor.

I for one hope that the barricade tram that was crushed by that tank, is put on a plinth, in the center of a post-war memorial to the Battle of Altengrad.

Awesome job, thank you! Let me ask you this, since it is liberated by the Soviets, can we expect heavy soviet influence in future developments? If so, please keep in mind the following typical features: 1. Large and simplistic apartment buildings, surrounded by vast open courtyards, loosely related to the streets. 2. Large factories. 3. Merciless destruction of historic neighborhoods to put extra-wide boulevards. 4 Destruction of many churches, replace those with cinemas or swimming pools. 5. A lot of new factories, often right in the center. 6. Large parks and squares, designed mostly for parades. 7. Large stadium. Good luck!
