I'm extremely glad you enjoyed it as much as I did and that you put this much thought and work into it! I highly, highly appreciate it! :) It's definitely one of Wintersun's most melodic and slower songs. Pure raw power, and emotion. You can really see Jari's (the vocalist) vocal range in this song. What I would suggest for the next song, if you want to continue listening to Wintersun of course, would be "Time" the studio version as I said in the previous comment, and/or "Sons of Winter and Stars" the live rehearsal version to see these guys at their best! They are actually coming to Los Angeles, CA a week from today! I believe they haven't been here since 6 or 8 years so it's going to be very special! Thanks again and keep rocking brother!

Awesome reaction, man! This song is one on the slower side when it comes to Wintersun (definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever). For something more grandiose and epic check out Sons of Winter and Stars (live rehearsal, remastered) - that's the one usually everyone starts with. :) But honestly they don't have a single bad song.

This song and other song in the same album (Eternal Darkness) have heavy influence of Jari's fathers death.
So i think this song is more about end of the road literally in this trail of life. Like song says one day your trail disappear as the snow falls like time and maybe you are finally home then and no more sorrows.
The lead singer did this entire record himself. A guitar wizard in his own right, in a live setting (I saw them live on monday) he focuses on the vocals and the rest of the band handles the other instruments. But its an amazing achievement that Jari was able to do this entire album by himself.
If you wanna hear the polar opposite to this song check out "Eternal Darkness (Autumn)" from the same album. That's where they're going full black Metal

Very nice reaction! You actually react and reflect on it, very enjoyable to watch. I would probably suggest their first album if you want the "true" Wintersun experience, since this one is probably one of the slower and "less typical wintersuny" songs. Try these songs: Starchild, Death and the Healing, Winter Madness. Basically the whole first album. The good thing tho is that all their albums (only 3 so far) sound very different from eachother. First one is very guitar focus, lots of incredible melodies and solos, and is their absolute best imo. Second is orchestration porn, fantasticly epic, but too short (its sadly a part 1 of a full album), the forest seasons is probably the most mood focused, not super intricate as the last two, but enjoyable nonetheless. :)

hey man i would like to thank you for making those reaction videos and sharing them with us, of all the songs reaction videos i saw on the internet i think you do the best, with very accurate comments even for a complex band like Wintersun which usually takes much more than 1 listen for people to understand the complexity of the music. I am really glad you loved it and actually happy for you for knowing this band, their work is just a treasure for me and i am just gonna say it, since their last album TIme I, their productions are just revolutionary in the music world, not only in metal genre, but in music industry as a whole.

Time and Sons of Winter and Stars are epic songs, the best of the best
Battle against time, Winter madness (this has one of the best solos in the music, seriously) power metal

Just a llitle guide, not exactly, all the songs are a mix, Wintersun can make one song with all the genres inside of it.

One of their slowest, but still a great song. I'd suggest sons of winter and stars, time, battle against time as heavier and faster songs of theirs to listen to. All are amazing. Just listen to their live rehearsal stuff at sonic pump studios. Incredible.

I saw somewhere where someone speculated that this song could be about losing his father. Listening to it from that aspect definitely fits and brings life to it.
If you want some heavily black metal influenced Wintersun you should check out the track before this one Eternal Darkness (Autumn). It reminds me a lot of Emperor, especially in the beginning. It also showcases the singer's amazing shredding talent as it has the album's only technical solo. You can't go wrong with Wintersun, glad you deviated because I might have never found this channel!

Great :) The reason to use that video is that it's an official remastered live rehearsal video and the remaster is very recent so not everyone knows about it. Although it's played live, they do such a stellar job that it's a real treat. Sons of Winter and Stars is the most reacted Wintersun song in youtube and it's their real showcase of musicmanship. However there's many true masterpieces in their catalog so if you enjoy this band, it'll be quite an epic journey :)

Oh yeah! Eternal Darkness is actually my favorite song of all time! I love its intensity and chaos. It's a strong contrast to Loneliness for sure. Loneliness is my second favorite, then comes Sons of Winter and Stars. Sons of Winter and Stars is usually the first Wintersun song youtubers react to as it shows the musical scope of the band the best and it's the most complex and intricate song I know. It's absolutely epic and it's impossible to get it all in the first time as there's just so much going on, it has over 1600 tracks so it's quite insane, like (at least) a full album worth of music condensed to one song.

You should check first albums from Ensiferum, Jari from Wintersun is singing there too and was one of its founders... Its More of Folk metal than this and full of epicness.
