My Basics of Distillation Course is out now! missbrewbird.thinkific.com/courses/basics-of-distilling-in-the-beverage-industry The first 35 people to use this coupon code lmtd299mbb can purchase it for $299.
The anatomy portion of the video had me chuckling. I don't know how you made it through without cracking up. Granted, I have a pretty low rent sense of humor:-)
Apologies for so many comments, using the raccoon tool or similar would also give an indication of any impurities or fusil oils coming through the distillation, as the discolouration would show up against the white, I don’t have a raccoon bone but have used the cotton buds on a toothpick and gives first indicator before going to parrot where fusil oils float.also you can swipe inside of tube to check for any sulphites. Coming through at end of run,. I am using an old fashioned copper still set up in nz making moonshine .Cheers hope this is helpful
@@MissBrewbirdif u didn’t even know this basic idea why should anyone watch your course lol . I mean that with respect not trying to be nasty. Just sounds like you have a lot to learn yourself.
@@AmandaSmith-xf6diwe're talking about some bizarre practice of using raccoon penis bone when distilling alcohol. Yeah, I'm pretty sure you don't have to do that and you can still be an expert on distillation. I live in Japan and I'm guessing here absolutely no one does that, and yet we've made some of the best whiskeys in the world.
I did enjoy your video for what it was entertainment . Then i took a look at some of the comments you received. i would ask you future readers to do their own research instead of the advice that was given so far. I'm not trying to insult anyone. It just our dying craft. i guess i should put it. Our heritage needs to be told right, not by guessing or someone that ran a time or two and believe they know how it is done
Hey Sweetheart, I really liked this video! I think you should definitely do more Moonshine videos as many people like to watch about the Art of it. How did you like It in Alabama? I'm in North Georgia and have many friends in Alabama. Hope your having a wonderful weekend, Austin
Hi Austin, I'll try to do more moonshine ones, I need to think of more video ideas. Let me know if you have any. I went to Tennessee. I didn't get to go Nashville or Memphis. I was about 3 hours outside of Knoxville, so there wasn't much to see. The nature was very beautiful though, and I got to go to the Old Country Store, Bojangles, and The Waffle House for the very first time. I really like the Waffle House.🙂
@@MissBrewbird Hi, oh okay my bad I thought you were in Alabama 🙃 I'm pretty familiar with Tennessee as I live in Georgia and Go to Tennessee a lot. Tennessee has some very Beautiful and Amazing places to visit. Lookout Mountain Especially During Christmas is pure Magical. I would love to help you with some ideas for New Content. I'll be thinking of some and I will definitely let you know! I'll be in touch 😊 Hope your having a great Weekend 🥃 Austin Edit: Bojangles not Cracker Barrel 🙈
I think you meant cheap "alcoholmeter" not hydrometer, a hydrometer is used for measuring the percentage of alcohol in a fermented drink like beer or wine, whereas an alcoholmeter is used for measuring spirits! great video looking forward to future episodes!
"I don't know why someone wouldn't buy a cheap Hydrometer" Because "Traditionally" the purchase of a Hydrometer could be tracked, and were difficult to find.

Nice video Bluebird,Could I clarify why moonshiners don’t use hydrometers, the purchase could be tracked by authorities and give them away ;)

Hi, yes I specifically mean alcoholmeter. An alcoholmeter is considered to be a type of hydrometer though. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrometer
Or being found in possession of one could incriminate them
"I don't know why someone wouldn't buy a cheap Hydrometer"
Because "Traditionally" the purchase of a Hydrometer could be tracked, and were difficult to find.
True, good point.
You don't make Likker do you? 😮😮😂😂
