In India, you have trains for all types of budget. It depends completely on the person what he/she can afford. First class seats are allotted manually by railway officials, not by algorithm. It maybe a coincidence or maybe they had English names or something similar so the staff decided to club them up.
@@utkarsh43645 Well, normally first class Tickets are often used by VIPs, MPs, Bureaucrats and Politicians. Therefore railways has opted to manually allocate seats for security reasons.

Though now , attendants insist on not doing so so as to prevent out any accidents , unauthorised entries etc.
AC too cold. Age old problem. The 'technician' incharge just turns the thermostat way low and then locks the control panel and vanishes... What they should have is adjustable AC inlets in each cabin or a sensible thermostat setting.
If it's adventure you want then it has to be sleeper class because AC class comes with its fair share of regulations. In sleeper class, you can even get down to every big station and enjoy the scenery while AC class wouldn't let you enjoy that much leeway.
Oh, but do keep in mind that you're going to be dealing with a lot of dirt as the dust flies around the whole journey with the coach being so open and all.

Hey mate, if you feel cold then you can told the coach attandent to raise the AC temperature or you feel hot then you can also them them to lower the temperature.
In AC coaches, if you have any issues with AC, or Toilet or Catering, you simply get in touch with the coach attendant, who is supposed to fix the issue, I have actually got AC temp adjusted from the thermostatic panel available on each coach. ITS THERE, YOU ONLY NEED TO ASK.
I wish I paid that because I paid 5200 for both of us in the 4 cabin. We should have got private it would have been cheaper. But there was no option on IRCTC for private cabin
You can open the doors in AC too, Jack, like some others have also commented. It is just a normal door with latches on top-right corner. Undo them and you are outside. Regarding the extreme coldness--it is not true across the board. The controls are specific to each compartment like, your H1. There is an AC mechanic allocated for 2 or 3 AC compartments and he sets the temperature and other parameters. Previously we used to go in search of the mechanic to find and ask him to change the temperature or to complain about some other thing. But now, we call 139 from our mobiles, a centralised operator picks up the call somewhere in India, asks you for the train number or nae and your PNR numbers, takes the complaint and informs the guard if possible (or) informs the next scheduled stop. Somebody then attends to the complaint....may take a few mins or at the worst till the next stop but it mostly gets done.
