This is seriously the best wrestling RUclips show period. The Monday Night Wars were not only a key part of the Wrestling History Book but my young child-teenage years. I was always a WWF guy, sure nWo was cool, but I always backed WWF growing up so to see how the tide is starting to shift as the ATTITUDE Era is being ushered in is everything. This is the highlight of my Thursdays for sure. So glad I found this channel before "Reliving the War" started and have been able to watch every single episode from then til now. I was actually at this RAW taping in Albany... half the stuff that Shawn and HHH said to Vince (whose uncomfortability was evident even from the nose-bleed section where I was sitting) in the ring got cut when they aired it on tv. I don't remember exactly what was cut, but the live promo was easily 15 minutes or longer. But when it aired it was less than 10.
Then I attended a live RAW at the same arena a year or two later, if I recall correctly. Definitely the two best wrestling shows I ever attended. The only disappointment I remember... was not being able to find myself and my brother in the crowd when this taping aired.
Yesterday was my 41st birthday... and watching this has allowed some good memories of these shows to flood back into my mind... that's a great birthday gift, even if that wasn't the intention.

I almost always agree with your decision with the winner, but I gotta say Its a tie or wcw. That Sting pop cancels out the Steve Austin stuff this week, and there wasnt a single good match on wwf. Several good promos on both shows, Owen, and HHH/HBK for wwf, Hall and Ric Flair on WCW. Buff and DDP were good, Syxx and Jericho were at least above average this week. That perfect plex was the best thing on both the main events combined, and the Giant stink face was 2nd. I think you should reconsider.

Days Left Until Bret Hart Leaves The WWF: 41
If I'm not mistaken, is this the first time RtW has reached a "perfect" draw? Raw & Nitro have the same exact # of wins, plus a bunch of ties, which is neat. Beyond that, it's sad to know that this is the last time we'll ever see Brian Pillman alive on any sort of wrestling program. He wasn't around for every Nitro or Raw during his time with each promotion, but RtW showed just how compelling a character he was every time he was on camera.

With Pillman’s tragedy looming, it’s eerie when you know what is to follow in the coming years...it’s the beginning of a series of unfortunate events surrounding the Hart family. Brian, Owen, and Chris all died around the same time as a PPV they were featured on and all 3 were trained by Stu in the dungeon. Not to mention Bret’s slew of issues with the Screwjob and career ending injury, and Davey’s passing. That dungeon must be cursed or something.

Yeah, i believe SummerSlam 1997, was the beginning of the decline of the Hart Foundation, Bret losing his heat. One night only bulldog losing the European championship, Msg Bret being informed that his contract will no longer be honored and to negotiate with WCW. Pillman's death, and lastly the Montreal screwjob that lead to everyone except Owen leaving, and those who thought he was going to get a push as the black Hart were wrong. Vince wasn't going to push him because of Austin's rise, the botched pile-driver and being Bret's brother

I can’t believe wer on episode 101. Honestly you are RUclips’s number 1 in my opinion. I watch everything bit of your content. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for creating such amazing videos and especially the Monday night wars which is enabling me to relive my childhood. Wer also coming close the debut of Kane and this was my favourite period in wrestling. Keep up the good work my friend and I hope everyone who is reading this has an amazing day and stay blessed

Just ordered a Saturday Wright Fever shirt as a thank you for all the hours of joy. I ordered that shirt because this show has given me a new appreciation for a ton of mid-card guys I didn't pay enough attention to as a kid (especially WCW guys as I was a huge WWF mark).

I miss how they used to sell the stunner back then. After someone got stunned you’ll see them in the locker room nursing there injury. I used to think the stunner was so legit

Can’t wait for the survivor series 97 PPV.. It was more or less the end of my days of being a huge wrestling fan.. If Bret stayed in the WWF things would have been much much better.. I’ll never get over that

Yeah it’s an absolute shame what happened to Owen. He was almost as good as Bret and more athletic.. This is the biggest reason I HATE Vince McMahon, for not believing Bret was worth the money and also cutting corners and being one of the reasons Owen died

I was born in 96, and obviously by the time I got into wrestling the Monday night wars were over, so it’s nice to see these episodes and really shows how important these times were to both companies.
