nice video...question- I see you have the Okuma Avenger reel, what size and how do you like them?

that particular setup wasn't mine but the avengers do well for the application. This was an abf 30 and the baitrunners set and engage plenty loose enough, and the drags seem to be smooth enough to not be an issue with light line. I usually run 4-6 lb leader. i would recommend for the price, they're a cheap way to get a few bait setups and they'll take the beating.

Thanks Jeremy, I bought a 30b of the last gen and trying to get the newest 30b is difficult...i am embarrassed to say that is it is all rigged on a 7 foot medium ugly stik ready for that exact application BUT time has not allowed it...was going to give it a few test runs and pick up 2 more for my other bait rods if it shined. Tight lines!

@@jonathanlozier4329 rods wise my min is 7ft but prefer closer to 8 usually medium light or light. OR 9-10 UL or light action noodle rods. Overall i like the noodle rods for handling a big fish on light line and staying hooked. Plus if you got10ft rods on opposite sides of the boat, your downlines got about a 24ft spread between em.

How deep did you go when fishing these trout, what size weight were you using? Also some solid browns!

The summer time sawbelly fishing is pretty simple overall. Its mainly fishing above the summer thermocline and up. These fish came off a 30ft down line and 30ft 15g
slip bobber. We'll have lines from 15 -30 but i spend most time in 20-30. Will go up to 40 or so on occasion. These lines i use 1/2 oz and i like to troll them around varying speed. can be done on anchor but i dont think its as effective and sucks anchoring deep as 150ft.

Also want to add when trolling bait around the lines will be shallower. Line angle varies id say up to 65 degrees which puts you at about half the depth of the line you have out. So depending on my speed ill lose 25%-50% depth per ft of line out. I'll take pauses and speed up and switch it up.

@@jeremyphillips6229 I live in Downsville, glad to see the fish gets back. After the big flood in 2011 number of fish drastically decreased.
