Not really.... I've got rotten real combos that are $1200. I'd much rather spend $720 on a 4 banger car top case then have to replace $3000 worth a fly fish and gear. Another great company is the Ultimate Rod Case . ultimaterodcase.com/product/ultimate-original-4-rod-10ft-edition/
@@shepleonard8695 I dont mean it not a good, useful product. But they should definitely be more affordable, just like a lot of things in the flyfishing market.
@@taliesinangling3564 I like you agree I wish things were cheaper but they're not. The thing is you need to go out and design your own product source it manufacture it advertise it and then sell it to a limited buyer that being those in the fishing industry who won't be transport their rods in such a manner and then see how much you have to sell it for in order to make a profit All while manufacturing a quality lasting product. But wait you're not done you still have to continue to service the customer through customer service which both of these companies that have mentioned are tremendously good at. The thing up noticed about the fly fishing world as you get what you pay for. Though expensive usually what you buy in the fly fishing community that is expensive last a lifetime.
@@taliesinangling3564 I don't completely agree with that statement. Quality does not come cheap. And while some things may appear on the surface that they're the same but much cheaper when you get down to the nuts and bolts of it they're nowhere near the same. Just look at Able, Tibor or Hatch Saltwater fly reels. Those are all in the $600 - $800+ range. Are they expensive? Yes they are. But what's your getting with that price is something that will last a lifetime virtually no matter what you do to it. Yeah now some will argue that all walking by a rating can real that can do everything that those can and they're right it can. But the one thing that reddington real won't be able to do is last you a lifetime if you fish on a daily basis or at least 2 to 3 times a week. Believe me I've tried to figure out any and all shortcuts to make life easier and cheaper when it comes to fly fishing and especially fly fishing saltwater. The one thing I discovered is you can't cut corners you have to buy purpose built equipment and that equipment is always expensive because of the quality and the craftsmanship that are associated with that. Yeah I mean a prime example of this is look at Lampsom Waterworks and their Liquid reel series, now compare that to the same company Lampson Waterworks who makes the Litespeed series. The Liquid series is not even on the same planet as the Litespeed series. I mean I can get a fusion for like a $109, While lampson salt water series comes in it around $500. I mean yeah you're buying a real from a high end quality company but the liquid series are cast reels while the Litespeed is a milled reel. Also the features are different and all of this means longevity and cost a manufacture. It's a lot of the problems that I see because I used to be this way as well as I look at something that's out of reach for me and immediately think it's overpriced and it's just a bunch of BS. But then I It started to see the other guys I fish with habit equipment and I started to notice that I was replacing my equipment more than they were, they only replaced line and flies. That's when I started saving my money in buying once and crying once. It was then that I realized that the stuff that I thought was overpriced and a bunch of BS was expensive for a reason. When I actually started my first company I realized real quick that R&D cost a fortune as does initial manufacturing setup cost. It cost a lot of money to produce a quality product. And in order to be able to recoup that money you have to charge what some consider a hefty price for the product you're producing. If you don't you'll go out of business.
What keeps the eyelets from banging against the inside of the rod tubes when driving around?
Nothing
I would have liked to seen how securely this rack attaches to the actual vehicle.
Good input, Joel. We'll be sure to include that in future roof top rack videos.
@@MidCurrentflyfishing Thank you!
These things are just too overpriced
