The real Great Ones are the friends we made along the way.
How many things can effect the power level of a specific Great One?
Do physically stronger mortals become more powerful Great Ones?
Is their power level determined by the limits of their own imagination?
Not sure how much more Lovecraft content you want on the channel, but I look forward to more. I think an interesting potential series would be taking powerful characters from other works of fiction and seeing where they would fall in the Cthulhu Mythos heirarchy. I remember how dumbfounded I was listening to an older video where you said (IIRC) the DC verse only makes it halfway up the Cthulhu Mythos heirarchy.
Major props for pointing out the fact that the Cthulhu spying dimly quote is in reference to his relation of the GREAT ONES and not the GREAT OLD ONES, completely debunking the growing assumption that Cthulhu for some reason isn’t an old one. While I don’t agree with every single interpretation you’ve presented (Azathoth not being supreme) you absolutely do know what you’re talking about, and you’ve made me re-read and second guess what I know about the mythos. Good stuff.

@@Vitou777I mean the Azathoth family tree letter was written after The key and the gate, so what did Lovecraft change his mind about the supreme being? Personally I think Azathoth and Yog Sothoth are two sides of the same coin

So every Great One is a dreamer who achieved godhood within the Dreamlands.
But what if a being like The Great Old Ones or Outer Gods became inhabitants of the Dreamlands?

The Great Old Ones do utilise and live in the Dreamlands (they forced the Great Ones off the Earth's Dreamlands). Cthulhu is a dreamer and Bokrug has been seen influencing stuff in the Dreamlands.

They are completely different beings that just both happen to use dreams occasionally. Some Great Old Ones may not dream at all.

My first viewing of the some lovecraft info was actually yugioh...
There was Norden, there was hastor, and Ntss... I always kinda wondered why in the verse there were types of humanoid gods existing with nigh omnipotent beings like the outer gods... but considering things like the dreamlands... I guess it's not too weird.
It's oddly fitting that most of the Lovecraft inspired cards are forbidden In every format. Still wish I could play them though...

@@LainWithSweetTea Norden and azathot are banned, and for good reason. Ntss sees a ton of play, and is a very good card. Nyarla and Cthugua are borderline playable, and have seen some play over the years, and hastor is garbage.

Can we get a warcraft powerscale, I know it's 1-A and the first ones are very strong and go far into outerversal, and Ive heard the high 1-A argument but it's seems very contentious and very and the evidence (from the sundering novel)could mean somthing else entirely

videos on the Elder Things, the multiple different Chaos's, the Old Ones, as well as the Great Old Ones?
The Elder Things are surprisingly interesting and I would like to talk about them, I mean they seem to just win every single confrontation they get into, even against gods like Cthulhu or other alien races. Very stubborn creatures.

@@WebCamParrot It was less of a win and more of a truce. Cthulhu and his spawn very nearly won after driving the Elder Things, for the most part, off the surface of the Earth.

is it fair to ask questions about Lovecraft to you, Parrot? i theorized (somewhat by accident) what could Azathoth's purpose would be that he is the "source" of chaos as a concept. anything destructive, nonsensical, messy. it actually is cosmically tied to Azathoth's very being. just like the Infinity Gems dictate if X should exist, Azathoth is the source of disorder.
just like Yog-Sothoth is the source of basically all things. i am not saying these two entities are completely applicable or the same, but i liked the idea. what you think? i remember someone saying that applying a purpose to an Lovecraft deity is actually against what he wrote about. as purpose is a human concept. but i feel it is more like Azathoth does this unintentionally.
Yog-Sothoth isn't the source of all things, it is all things (subtle but important difference)
Azathoth, as the embodiment of Chaos, could be considered as the source of it and thus all chaos is connected to it
Azathoth wouldn't have the purpose of generating chaos, it should more likely be a consequence of embodying it

@@enocescalona i mean chaos in a cosmic prospective has a bit of duality to it, it can both create and destroy, when and where planets, stars, solar systems, and galaxies are formed is completely unpredictable and process that makes them born is also very chaotic. I think this is what Lovecraft was going for with Azathoth

I believe that is the case in August Derleth's works which he intended to be a continuation of Lovecraftian ideas but doesn't seem to hold up in Lovecraft's own texts.

Maybe you can do a Video on Nyarlathotep. There's a lot of evidence that **Nyarlathotep can do metafictional travel who can go to other fictional universes, then again I'm sure other Outer God's can do it too but unlike the other Outer God's who are oblivious and indifferent, Nyarlathotep has a personality and is malicious towards humans.

In your video basically proving Azathoth is not the Lovecraft supreme being, you pretty much said Yog-Sothoth is the personification of The Cthulhu Mythos.
Yog-Sothoth is everywhere and everything past, present, and future.
Yog-Sothoth is the gate.
What about specific abilities?
There are no specific abilities, Yog-sothoth makes up the embodiment of the entire universe. Anything that can be done or will ever do he already can and has done.

@@zombiedemon1762 Unless you’re like me and still under the belief that Azathoth exists outside reality with the universe itself all being its self sustaining dream, than you can’t really go bigger than Yog-sothoth. He quite literally is EVERYTHING, which extends past realities that both can and don’t exist. There is no defeating, outsmarting or surpassing infinity. Co-exist? Sure… but to be greater than? In the case of the Cthulhu Mythos simply not possible.
