Imagine seeing sokolov in 2004 ... Bach Partita in E Minor and Fantasy/Fugue in A Minor for the first half, followed by sonatas no. 27 and 32 for the second half. what concerts they must have been
I think that the end of the 90s and the beginning of the 2000s must have been the best years for listening to Sokolov. I was born in 2004 but personally I listened to concerts from 2024 where he is 74 years old and I notice a tired old person on stage who struggles to please his audience by transmitting these beautiful melodies. but these recordings from 20 years ago now bear witness to a vigorous and virtuoso Sokolov with a background that gave him wisdom. this passion is gradually being extinguished, what is happening will surely happen in much more personal concerts with more tender compositions.
A true master which is barely seen today
Maybe in the US. Before the COVID he performs regularly in Europe. I have seen him on stage for at least 8 times.
Just a thrilling performance of Beethoven's last piano sonata. Thank you.
I think that Sokolov's performances during this period were much more exciting than today's. Still, they are terrific!
Such power from the maestro which I need after a difficult day
The last sonata as like ! Maestro Sokolov doesn't spare power ! Bravo !

Спасибо! Потрясающе...
where is the rest ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Someone tell him to perform in the US.
Thanks! Really good. Only one thing, there is a problem in minute 19.00. The video is mixed with another video. Can you fix it? Thanks!
