Hello! I really enjoy your video. I am trying to make basement window curtains with 2 panels. Should I measure the window and and follow your instructions of adding 3 inches top, bottom, and sides , then divide the width by two?
Hi Marice. Are you cutting each panel in half from top to bottom so that you can open the curtains in the middle? If so, yes then follow the instructions I did in the tutorial. I hope this helps. Glad you liked the curtain tutorial. Thanks for watching💗and happy sewing😍
So easy to follow thank you !
You’re welcome 😊
Thank you. I can now make curtains for my sons bedroom using fabric of his favorite football team 😄
Great Video. Thank You
Thanks a lot!!

I was never taught how to sew so thank you. I found some old material but it wasn't enough for my curtains. I found some more on sale that I think I could sew together with my org material to make a valiance and bottom. Do you have a video to show how I can sew the two pieces of material together to make it look right. I am going solid than the printed section :)
What if I want my print fabric to show both inside & outside (with a plain lining in the middle to prevent color bleed through). Any suggestions on the best way to manage this?
Hi Anita. Place the same fabric front sides together, and then place the lining fabric on top. Stitch around all 4 sides, but leave and opening of about 6" to 8" that is not stitched. Turn the fabric front side out. press the fabric, and stitch the opening closed. At the top edge fold it over at in the tutorial and stitch it down. This will be your casing for the rod. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
Hello!! I love your videos!! I am totally a beginner and I have a window that measures 69" X29" does it mean that when I add 3 inches on each side and 3 above and bellow my measurements become 75"X 35? Am I correct? Then, In addition I add 7" to my 75? What if I want a 2 panel curtain so, it open in the middle? Do I just cut the material in half? I am a bit confused on that.
Hi User-uv2dg. Measure the width of the window then multiply that numeber by either 1.5 or 2.0 so that you have enough fabric for the curtain to gather up. For 2 panel curtain per window divide that number in half and use that to make the 2 panels. The extra 3" is for fold over at the top/bottom to make the casing at the top and the hem at the bottom. The fabric on the sides of the curtain panel are also folded under to cover the raw edges. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching
Does this make one panel?
Your living area is beautiful ! PS, love the video also. I just made one curtain for our older class B. Now on to the bigger camper. The material is gonna run about $12.00--to 19.00, yikes ! Measure three times, cut once !
So if I only want them to cover a third of the window, do I begin 3 inches above the top, then add 3 inches and another 7 inches from where I want them to end? For example, if I want them 15” long, do I add 10 inches to that?
Hi Gina. Yes to everything. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
I subscribed because of that cute family subscription ask at the end
Thank you so much for subscribing!! ❤️❤️❤️
What length did you cut?
You can make these any length. The curtain in the video was just for demonstration. At the beginning of the video instructions are given on how to measure the window. You can make you curtains any length that you want. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
I have the white curtain rods. How do I measure the rods for the different size of casing needed?
Hello again, once I measure the window and added the 3 inches on both sides, why do I have to multiply by 1.5? what is that number?
Hi User-uv2dg. In order for the fabric to gather up you will need at least 1.5 times the width of the window. If you want a lot of fabric gathers, then multiple the width of the window by 2. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
@@TheSewingRoomChannel Thank you so much. I really appreciate your help.
i love it
Thank you 😀
Hi I'm from Israel and I want to know what kind of fabric you use for a kitchen window?
If I wanted to make a valance, how much should I measure for the length?
Hi Swimm4yourlife. The finished size of most valances that you purchase are 15 inches. So add to the enough fabric for the ruffle top and bottom hem. Glad you liked the how to make curtains to tutorial. Thanks for watching💗and happy sewing😍
Thanks I just bought a machine to learn to sew doing this covid
Awesome! Happy Sewing!
What type of curtain rod did you use? Looks thinner than the kind I have.
Hi Cheryl. It is a café curtain rod. I purchased it at Walmart. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.
how many yards do we need for that curtain?
Where are you sales
Hi Laki. Thank you for watching💗 I don't sell the items that I make. I only make sewing tutorial videos to teach people how to sew. Happy sewing😍
@@TheSewingRoomChannel thanks you from
Does this make one panel? 4:10
Hi Claudette. To make 2 panels per window:
- Measure from rod bracket to center of the window
- Multiply your measurement by 1.5"
- Then add 1" to that measurement
Hope this helps. Thanks for watching💗 and happy sewing😍
What’s the length for a valance?
Hi Bubblamell50. You can make the valance any length you like. Decide how much of your window you want to be covered. Stay safe. Thanks for watching, and happy sewing.
That was “easy”?? Yikes... 🙄
Thanks for watching, and happy sewing. 😍
