Note: Base / target settings for the forks are :
~ 10-15% STATIC SAG
~ 30% RIDER SAG
+ 5 CLICKS (HALF TURNS) OF PRELOAD IN EACH LEG
- 9 COMPRESSION CLICKS FROM CLOSED / ZERO
"CLOSED" REFERS TO THE FIRST CLICK THAT CAN BE FELT WHEN FULLY CLOCK WISE ON THE COMPRESSION ADJUSTMENT. THIS IS YOUR "ZERO" OR FULLY CLOSED STARTING POINT.
This is the gold standard for tutorials on YT. My grandmother could do this job just by watching this! Going to upgrade my forks with this kit.
Excellent video, fitted my level 2 kit today and couldn't have been easier thanks to this
Thanks mate, glad it helped.
You can only succeed with this kind of tutorial. Perfect light, perfect show of every step so it is already self explanatory. Add some voice over to catch the attention of the more undisciplined of us and voila!
Thanks man, it’s not my strong point but really putting the effort in to help people more
Excellent presentation! Perfect balance of narration and visually providing instruction. Thank you!
Awesome video thanks! Just in time as I’m fitting the rallyraid level 1 suspension as I write this 😅
I wish i have you as a mechanic, people like you are gems in that industry.
Is it a tutorial about how to create a great video? Or how to install a rally raid fork kit? I can't decide. Well done sir.
Just rechecked the air gap on my left fork. For other dummies like me perhaps clarify the 100mm is with the fork fully compressed. Also for anyone who doesn't read your instructions...tut tut don't forget the rubber o ring on the right leg to see how much compression you are using on the bumps.
What exactly do you mean here ?
?
Great video. If you didn't know these things, it would be frustrating and may not even work right. Like getting all the air out and knowing the forks will be different lengths. I'll bet those forks work nicely.
Super detailed video.. I wait the video for cb500x 2022 to come ..
Can you guys update the install instructions to include the extra steps of bleeding the cartridge after filling and setting the air gap in the left fork? If someone (like me) follows the instructions without seeing this video, they might have air in the cartridge and a “mushy” feel along with harsh bottoming without those two steps (like mine).
I agree and also he says to leave an air gap of 100ml in the level 2 kit. Well how much of an air gap is there supposed to be in the level 1 kit? Anyone know.
Nicely done Adam!
Excellent easy to follow video thanks 😊
Any plan to do a service video on these forks?
Do you have a link for how to set up the preset and everything else on top of the forks?
Next video covers this , I have pinned a comment with the base settings for now
@@motomitchuk4384base settings…. -9 from closed or fully clockwise. +5 is that from fully open then 5 clicks towards closed or clock wise direction?
Best Crf300 fork cartridges available!
It would be nice to clarify, that L1 has two plastic washers under the spring on cartridge while L2 in the video has one. It took me some head scratching until I found that in PDF manual.
There is a sticker on the cartridge. I don't like idea that it could get loose in oil over time and get sucked onto some valve so I removed it. I hope it is not a warranty violation or something.
great vid
I can see little impressions on the end of the fork housing from twisting the small screw driver. i might do this differently.
You mention to leave an air gap of 100ml in the level 2 kit. Well how much of an air gap is there supposed to be in the level 1 kit?
Another reminder that I need to place my order. Still no US Dealers for this?
I'm afraid not. We have tried US dealers but on items like this their cut ends up making it cheaper to come direct for the customer
FWIW they shipped fast to Texas and customer support is top tier. The lower shock bolt was missing from my kit. I emailed them and had a the bolt in my mailbox a few days later.
They also answered a million questions before I bought the kit. Its the most expensive suspension I have ever purchased for a vehicle and that includes lifted Land Cruisers and Jeeps, so I was really nervous about splashing that much money on it. But it was 100% worth it.
If you live nearby you are welcome to come ride it.
@@marcochavannewhere you located ? I been trying to buy the level 2 and they are sold out right after they are added back to the site 😢
I want excited to buy this but that's way too much work for me unfortunately.
Built my level 2 kit up a few weeks ago. We took a short cut and filled 2/3 of the oil through the top on the left leg. Rest through the bottom as recommended. After a lot of pumping all appeared to be well? I will check the air gap now (not mentioned in previous video) but is there still going to be a problem? Many thanks. Tom
How did that work out ? I’ve failed miserably at getting the oil in despite 3 attempts and following this video. Each time I turned it over, removed cap and let the outer leg drop, oil would pour out before outer leg was at bottom. Very frustrating as I don’t know what I’ve done wrong.
Great video 👍🏻
Is it the same kit for the crf250 L/rally and the crf300 L/rally???
Awesome 😮
@rallyraidproducts1927 It the 100mm air gap the same on L1 as L2?
I need to know how the bottom pieces come off the forks please someone hit me up asap
What’s the extra O-ring in the package for.?
People who want to track their for travel usage can add the o ring on a fork tube and use it as a measure for testing
Would it matter which fork to go on ?
I was debating on upgrading mine myself after watching this I will not be doing it myself lol there’s a lot that goes into it
Same here man. I’d rather remove and rebuild the top half then tackle this suspension job. I don’t know if I would even want Honda dealer mechanics doing this.
You lost me in the first minute by showing me you’re running the stock tires
