This is not journalism!!! Am I the only one who felt that this interviewer or the journalist from Al Jazeera was one-sided and that was on the LTTE terrorist group's side! He had no evidence or strong points to argue on. All he did was accuse and made false allegations about the Sri Lankan government. Now that is not proper journalism. I didn't hear Al Jazeera congratulating the Sri Lankan government for ending such a brutal war started by Tamil terrorists! I didn't hear Al Jazeera congratulating the Sri Lankan government for defeating a genocide terrorist group (LTTE). LTTE killed so many innocent and vulnerable civilians in all parts of Sri Lanka on a daily basis for over 30 years. LTTE used children and pregnant women to kill the civilians! This interview is utter hogwash and one-sided! Well, I've noticed that Al Jazeera is pretty good at it. Btw what's going on in Qatar??? Why have the neighbours of Qatar blocked them even from flying over their territories??? Something fishy about Qatar!!!! Gov. people are not innocent, if they can slap Rajeev publicly, what they can do to LTTE suspects?

At the end of the day no matter what side you stand on, the reality is that the LTTE stood as the last obstacle for the Rajapaksa family to gain full hegemonic control of the country. Despite the UN not only admitting that they failed the Tamils (despite the plethora of evidence and testimonial) men who committed war crimes not only managed to walk away from it but were also able to profit from it. Even if one were to somehow move past these atrocious acts of violence and slaughter (which as a human being, I cannot begin to fathom what kind of person you would have to be able to smile and live with yourself) you only have to look at the current list of actions to further understand that the mindset that they have towards not only Tamils but to any one person that identifies as Sri Lankan, from the expansion of CCP influence (in conjunction with both expansion into Pakistan, Nepal and Myanmar as they seek to surround and isolate India as the unveil their Belt and Road initiative). To the almost Orwellian like surveillance and suppression of free speech it amazes me that person who voted can truly believe and convince themselves that as a nation they will be able to build not only a strong nation but one that truly advances the values and beliefs of its people.
Perhaps the greatest loss of this 3 decade long conflict (and another decade of mopping up the leftovers) is the human cost, on both sides and the failure of leaders to reconcile this situation and make genuine moves to bridge the divide.
While this small Buddhist nation has failed the minority it is well on the way to fail to majority. If anything at the end of this long rant, I do implore the future leaders of the nation to move past the cultural divide and come to understand what is really at stake and what is standing in their way

N Mano, all you can do is look at the minor faults of how HE MR answered. Can you tell me whether there is anyone else in the whole wide world how has the guts to do what he did and is still doing. I am an Australian citizen (born and brought up in Australia), during my temporary visit to Srilanka, the army forcefully entered our home with large ammunition, they only left once they got to know we were not from Srilanka. Our neighbours were forcefully arrested, only because they were tamil citizens of Srilanka even though none of them were LTTE members. So the LTTE bombed the army because their civilians were forcefully attacked in the first place.
There is no reason for the LTTE group to be banned in other nations as the group only sought freedom in its own country. The ban being put in place is as a result of lack of knowledge, and to side with the majority as there is absolutely no evidence for LTTE's terrorism. Tamils were targeted only because they were the minority. The 'current affair' news channel in Australia distinctly showed the bulldozer massacre, which the Srilankan Government perpetrated. However, once the satellite images were shown as proof for the massacre, the Goverment had no reply for their own injustice and falsified lies. Hence, the Australian Government has NOT banned the LTTE, as they collected evidence against the Srilankan Government. Other countries which have imposed the ban, have not collected evidence, and they merely sided with the majority due to lack of knowledge.

Why is the monolingustic national anthem unchanged? Tamils are equal citizens of the country too, so why is the national anthem only in Sinhalese, with not even a small acknowledgement to the Tamil language?
I as on the flight to Srilanka, and they ONLY say Ayebowan, not Vanakkam (tamil) or Welcome (english). How can they so righteously say the country only belongs to them? How do you expect an ethnic group to remain silent after being unrecognised as citizens in their native country?

However, they had no answer to the satellite images indicating mass annihilation. The Srilankan Government MP was interviewed on the live TV channel. Besides, the movement of LTTE began in 1983 following multiple explicit discrimination against Tamil people. This included massacres throughout the 1970s, imposing the different university entrance exam scores between Tamils and SInhalese and bus discrimination acts. The Srilankan Government conducted multiple massacres and resulted in 160 000 non-ltte tamil civilians being killed.
