  • June 6, 2004 - In step one of his 2004 NBA Finals MVP bid, Detroit Pistons guard Chauncey Billups finished with 22 points, 4 assists, and 3 steals in a surprise 87-75 Game 1 win over the Los Angeles Lakers. Billups went on to average 21 points per game while shooting .471 percent from the arc in a five-game series win, helping propel the Pistons to their third NBA championship in franchise history.

    The Detroit Pistons have told the country: "Hey---by the way---we're here, too"
    This was the most prophetic comment Al Michaels made during this long, illustrious broadcasting career. 😂

    Both the 1990 and 2004 Pistons went thru Phil Jackson to win titles.

    You could tell by the play by play and overall production during the finals that nobody wanted DET to win the finals. Wish Mike Breen was on those games.

    All-time great defense. Ben Wallace was one of the few in the world who could handle Shaq. And they had talent and grit at every position. I loved this team.
