I always use two small pieces and make my corner separate. This way all you do is butt the long pieces to them and fill the gaps. I use wood filler were I can before caulking
I did this fun little project and oh my god it is gorgeous the entire house... *FELL DOWN TO DUST* Now I live in a Card Board Box 📦 like Snake... Snake was right this box has so many potential such as a Home, invisibility, Peace and Quiet plus Transportation. Never Regretted it even till this very day.
You spend a bunch of money to diy this and make a bunch of mistakes instead of calling contractors that do this perfect all the time to save a little money the thing is the contractor get discounts on material and the savings are passed on to you sometimes it's a little more expensive

Wish I had a one story house bedroom or a higher ceiling to accommodate a recessed ceiling!
They make the room look perfect too with all the nice corners so you get the best corners. Come to my house, you’ll rip your hair out lady.
