That's why we need to practise and put in effort to change our thinking habits. Don't expect to be fearless after listening to one talk. Nothing comes easy my dear friend.
Ajahn talks about well-being as if everybody had experienced well-being and simply made the decision to "let go and be happy". Some of us experience, subjectively, nonstop internal dialogue that basically says "why don't you die, you piece of shit" - so there is a buddhist that essentially approaches mindfulness as science and his name is Shinzen Young. Shinzen has hundreds of techniques that actually work in allowing really fucked up people to let go.

Enlightenment? Pfft. Funny how it doesn't come with any measurable behaviours or special understanding other than 'nice guy with groupies'. Sure, he's a good person, but enlightenment doesn't exist as you understand it. Sorry.

To deal with fear with trust in Jesus is divine.
To overcome fear, is also human.
To overcome with your fears is the power of your higher spirit guided by your FAITH.
