I am very happy to have ordered my 49Kw Inster for €23k here in Ireland, it has much more room inside than the Renault 5 or Spring or eC3, and the 360km range suit my suburban driving just fine. I think most are choosing by looks. The R5 is near €30k here.
I like the Renault 5, but for me it is the Kia EV-3 all the way. By the way it will be made in Slovakia as well as Korea. Not sure about China, though that may be the case. Inster would be my no.2 choice.
Renault 5 deservedly so. I am changing my EV next year and only need a smaller car and this is top of my list. Will depend on UK pricing to a certain extent though.
The global EV industry is currently shifting towards more affordable electric vehicles. If EU manufacturers do not follow the same trend, there may soon be no EU car manufacturers.
The junior isn’t made in Italy that’s why they couldn’t call it Milano, the city or government said they can’t give it an Italian name if it’s not made in Italy 😂 Also fun that your bashing the Citroen and praising the Inster when they’re basically the same, both city cars with decent range and slow 0-100 km. Also ev3 is fwd and not rwd.
I agree with your take. Overall, I believe all the best EVs in the world right now, save a few exceptions like Tesla, Rivian and Lucid, are Chinese. Next, come the cars from HMG Korea. European luxury and mass market brands are quite a bit off the pace. They may be stylish but lag in terms of tech, software, build quality and EV powertrains. The Chinese are improving styling much faster than Europeans are improving their EV technology and software. This is also evident in the R5, which despite looking attractive has very poor interior packaging, fit/finish and software/tech. The main screen is 5-10 years behind the game. It’s sad to see!
how on Earth could Hyundai win the "European" car of the Year award ? that Alfa Romeo is ridiculous - for decades they claimed that the "shield" is synonymous with the brand .... so hey! lets make it unrecognisable from a distance ??? wtf no wonder the EU car industry is in terminal decline
@@i6power30 Farasis Energy produces the batteries. With a soh 70% equating driving range of 1 million miles. Chinese cars or shell is rubbish.. Corrosion issues and all the ancillaries are rubbish..
Maybe, but a Model Y is $50,000 to $60,000 in Europe in most countries and that’s still a huge amount. Tesla desperately need to have lower priced models.
Tesla's are not for everyone. It doesn't matter how greater value they are, if they only have two (relatively) expensive and big models, with interiors that some people (like me) absolutely despise.
Apparently, it'll be made in Mexico which gets it into the US without tariffs. "The U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement, though, potentially lets vehicles assembled in Mexico - even if made by European or Asian automakers - enter the U.S. at a much lower tariff or none at all. If made-in-Mexico cars met the USMCA’s requirements, they could enter the United States duty-free." Trump made that agreement but he's making noises about not allowing any Mexican-made cars in without huge tariffs.
Watched a review video of the 2025 Renault 5 on Utoob. This car has very few amenities... most everything is manual including all the buttons. The software is gross compared to the Chinese competition. Hope it does well in crash tests but it looked like it might be a death trap. To me this is a young person's first car and not for much else. There are no creature comforts here and cheap, clicky buttons everywhere. The mid spec car that they tested had the largest 52 KW battery and did an 8 second 0-60 mph. Price as tested was almost $35,000. Other than the sport styling and being an EV, the car is really made for short trips around town with the biggest battery giving you around 230 miles of real world range. However if you are over 6 foot tall this car is not for you.
I don’t understand how people watch this channel Your car is shite, Chinese lol, you get in a crash and most likely you pass away due to the very poor safety from those cars. 0-100 being a measure nowadays is just straight up stupid, people don’t care about that. Big upgrades for the Cupra family btw
I believe the Kia EV3 will win. Really well designed car.

Kia EV3 is front wheel drive
yup

I kinda like the Renault 5. Although the only French car I ever drove was a Peugeot.
Renault 5 - Also considering to buy it

the e-C3 is available for less than 20k€ in France, and the Renault R5 for less than 24k€... This is still not very cheap, but we are getting there...
Citroen is renowned for being comfortable to drive. British and European roads are very bumpy and full of pot holes.
I think that the best car is the Kia EV3 and it should win, but the Renault 5 could win because of nostalgia.
Renault 5 & (not in video) 4.

Dacia Duster ❤
Geez you pump out the videos mate...!
Renault 5 definitely.
The Renault 5 is clearly my favorite, and it will have "decent" prices in Europe, but I believe the Kia is the best car, and will probably win.

Most EU like drivers cars, something we don’t find in Chinese phones on wheels
Only if Chinese cars are in the list, European old cars automakers will have no face to show.
Why does this happen at the beginning of the year, when nobody know if the pick is going to be a Lemon, with the wheels falling off.

Car of the year.. EQS SUV EQS 450 AMG LINE PREMIUM PLUS… I’ve got and it’s better than any Chinese EV
Mercedes EVs use the cheapest Chinese batteries.
@@i6power30 which Aussie bEV brands/models have the best quality batteries? top 3 - 5 if you know, would be handy

Renault 5.
Is this award only for small crappy cars? I would not pay $10K for any of these, and these are the only picks? Wow, that is just sad.
These are only the low level cars, Sam avoids talking about proper EU drivers cars, that most Europeaans want.
Typical American stupidity ahaha but you would spend 100k on a Chinese piece of shit or a cybertruck
Renault 5. 💪

@ISuperTed 42.000 eur in Romania MYSR
Kia EV3
Ha ha ha my choice is Aptera or the Cybercab. Hahaha I know none of them will be available in Europe in 2025
The Renault 5 is definitely one of the best looking cars!!!!
European car 🤔 import wuling four steer four wheel drive.
Zeekr mix
KIA
kia ev3 if it ever makes it to usa. but now that trump is president all foreign made cars will cost as much as twice the sticker price.

Nothing great here. Just shows how far behind Europe is compared with Chinese and Tesla options.
These are only the small cars, please also review proper cars
Alfa Romeo is finished. Nobody knows Alfa romeo outside Europe
I agree, just another mix and match Stellantis car. Yawn! No thanks.
