  • I had a bad clunking sound coming from the undercarriage of my third generation Escort LX. I looked around and found the lower mounts in bad shape. Watch to see how easy it is to change these out. This also applies to the Mercury Tracer and Ford Escort 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 with the CVH SPI2000 SPI 2.0L engine.

After I put on rear mount I left mount and bracket loose a lil so mount would fit into holes and it took about 30 mins all in all.this video was very helpful

Justin, I was curious how your timeless fence post are holding up and are you happy with the product. I’m looking to build fence.

@Terry Engstrand the posts are holding up great. I am happy with the product. They are very durable. We have used different fence systems and feel this one will be the one we go with from now on. ~Mr. And Mrs. C.

Im having SEVERE trouble installing the farthest rear transmission mount. Im having trouble lining up the front trans mount stud, can get the rear one through the hole of the trans brace no problem but ive pried and hammered and tried everything to get it to line up with no luck

@saveusall6915 that is interesting. I did not have that issue with mine. Do you have the engine supported with a jack? Are you sure you have the correct mounts? If all of that is good maybe check for proper orientation of the new mounts. Hope this is helpful. Thanks for watching! ~Mr. C.

Hello Justin, love your videos, have a 99 zx2 auto transmission. I need to replace the rear mount (chewed up to hell), but I can't find a rear mount that looks like yours. The only one I did find said manual transmission in the description. Also, the ones that say they will fit have a whole bracket thing attached, and it also doesn't look like yours. Please help, I'm at a loss here.

Is that first crossmember with the 4 17mm bolt important for engine/transmission alignment?

    • @NaturesCadenceFarm

@kalebadams8109 I am guessing here. I would lean more towards structural integrity of the front suspension system more than engine and transmission alignment. Again, just a guess. Thanks for watching and asking. ~Mr. C.

Where did you get the mount? I got one aftermarket from Rock Auto. Even though it was the most expensive one they sell, it a garbage piece and actually has more flex the original with cracked rubber! The center pin of the new piece is at an angle, which I believe to be on outright flaw.

Will the engine/transmission mount work for both automatic and manual transmissions? I have an automatic 1999 ford escort lx so I was curious if the part will still fit my car

    • @NaturesCadenceFarm
      @NaturesCadenceFarm  Год назад

@Chi the automatic and manual are different part numbers. The video is of an automatic and the link to the parts I used are provided in the description is for the automatic. Thanks for watching. ~Mr. C.

@Ted Lowenthal I think I know what you are asking for. They are called Engine Mount Support Isolators. The Ford part number FOCZ-6A061-A. I found an eBay listing with pictures to make sure this is the correct part (link below). Thanks for watching and asking. ~Mr. C.

Hey did she vibrate a lot when in drive or at idle ?? Also does she vibrate through the steering wheel after mount fix ? Gosh mine 98 Mercury vibrates like crazy through steering wheel plus rear mirror vibrates driving lol .

    • @NaturesCadenceFarm

@Todd Elwart she does vibrate still at idle but not as bad as it used to. While moving I have not noticed any vibration in the seat or steering wheel. Thanks for watching and commenting! ~Mr. C.

Ok. I have a 02 zx2. This vid didnt work. The bracket on my rear mount had nuts welded to bracket. No wiggle room. The amount of space to remove bracket bolts did not allow clearance. Final solution. Remove top passenger side motor mount. Pull battery and housing. Remove secondary motor mount. Drop engine low as hell till top bracket bolt cleared. Still havent voodooed the brace back on with new parts. Like tetris. But more frustrating.

Morning Star I understand exactly what you are saying. I left the upper mounts in place to create a safe working environment underneath. Even if the upper mounts fail completely the mounts mechanically will not allow the engine and transmission to drop more than a inch. Excellent observation and thank you for watching and commenting! ~Mr. C.
