Bus lane violators on the exclusive EDSA bus lane

- The EDSA busway has proven to be an extremely effective and efficient way to move commuters.
But without enforcement, the tendency is that more people start to misuse the exclusive bus lane, which leads to accidents and disruption of the vital bus service on EDSA.
Watch as various riders and drivers are flagged down and issued with penalty tickets for misusing thee exclusive busway..
Grabe! Haaaaayyyyy nako!
One day, non-bus motorists will be actively avoiding the bus lane, everyday, every hour. The only way we can get there is constant enforcement.

It is a shame they don’t enforce the road laws in the provinces of the Philippines and not just Manila
It's not about enforcement, it's about each and every Pinoy just following what is right , BASIC traffic rules/regulations we can't even follow. Discipline, that's what most of us lack, unfortunately. It's not enforcement. 😸👍 Mag bago na sana Tayo.
Because if they enforce the law, their dynasty will crumble.
Hahaha very true! Majority of traffic laws which is for the whole country is only enforced in M.M and rhe rest is wild wild west. Kudos to those provincial LGUs that implement strict enforcement and to the motorists themselves even if there are a few enforcers, they follow the rules, majority of them unlike other provinces.
Kaway-kaway sa mga teenagers and kids who drives MCs, trikes and Kolong-kolong and to the LGUs/Barangay peeps not to mention elders and parents, you guys rock! MFs and so young that they dont even know whag true love is but they drive motor vehicles and only care about flexing and not the traffic rules, not to mention wearing helmets are so M.M
Traffic Enforcment is only given to a specific gov't organization which is really expensive, inefficient and prone to corruption for our government, example of these organizations are MMDA who mandates the whole Metro Manila which is already billions of peso budget given to them yearly for only to manage the Metro Manila, HPG which are rare to see on provinces and LGU enforcers which is also rare in provinces, unlike other countries like US and EU, they do not have traffic enforcers, they have the whole Police as Traffic Police enforcing the traffic, if you get caught e.g reckless driving, they can get you cuffed immediately without calling another police to do that job.
Try going to davao lol, even going 50kph will get you ticketed, it's much stricter compared to Manila

Increase fines and confiscate licenses and mandatory retest. Great job GA and MMDA. Discipline is mandatory. Run away, fine and license revoked for 1 year and retest after.
How dumb do you have to be to not have/expired license or incomplete/expired vehicle paperwork, and still go in the bus lane. If you stayed in the regular lane, you would've never have gotten your bike impounded.
Stupid is as Stupid does 🤣

Bus lane on the opposite lane was the best idea. Good advantage also since the bus door was at right side.
not really, read his reply on top comment.
No, better impound their vehicles even for first offence. This is on top of the fine. Dumadaan sila sa bus lane dahil ayaw nilang matagalan o gusto nilang makalamang sa kapwa motorista. Kung iimpound mo sasakyan nila, it will defeat their purpose.
Let's see, I don't have proper registration or license, so let me use bus lane. 😂😂

constant enforcement and heavy penalty suspension of license for 3 months and Heavy fine 10 thousand pesos and registration / impounding of any vehicles for 60 days for cars fin3 of 20 thousand impounding of vehicles for 3 months this is what pilipino needs with no respect
What's useful is the bikes & scooters that flout the rules always seem to be distinctive by either additional lighting, coloured lighting or by their clothing.

It is completely unacceptable that MT taxis and other vehicles continue to violate the designated bus lanes on EDSA, creating unnecessary chaos and compromising the safety and efficiency of our roads. While authorities are doing their part to address these violations, enforcement alone cannot be a permanent solution.
Taxi companies must take accountability by removing drivers who repeatedly break traffic laws and show blatant disregard for public order. This selfish behavior not only disrupts the flow of public transportation but also sends a signal that some drivers believe they’re above the rules. It’s time for a zero-tolerance approach: stricter penalties for repeat offenders and immediate action from both authorities and companies to protect our roads and restore respect for the law.
Apply counter flow busway system!
I suggest you buy an infrared night vision camera for nighttime videotaping so we can see who the real violator is.
Do IACT impound vehicles that are expired in registration?
In the event the busway will counterflow EDSA, will vehicle still use it? Some will still use it once they saw no bus is approaching them.
If ever maimplement sana itan kung sakalling may Violators man at maaksidente ng bus sa busway dapat walang pananagutan ang Bus Driver and blame all recklessness on the kamote Rider/Driver
I'm not sure how they can do that safely, unless they intend to fully block the bus lane.
Just imagine if someone is in the bus lane, either on purpose of by accident, and they face a bus that's going 50 KPH in the other direction... it's probably going to kill that driver or rider, and likely extend out into the other lanes.
And of course because of how the law is, the bus driver is likely to be the one put behind bars.
There will be conflicts with various parts of EDSA that are currently required to be without barriers, as well as the u-turns, flyovers and tunnels.
And imagine the mayhem of emergency vehicles trying to go from the regular lanes to the busway, and vice versa.
Plus you need to consider how the busway ties into other roads, like going to PITX, the P2P buses that are authorized via a MOA, the Ayala terminal etc.
Maybe DOTr has a bigger plan in mind, some way to completely and safely segregate the busway - otherwise I just don't see how they can even consider the counterflow idea.
Honestly, if it was me, I'd rather see them start with more simple improvements to the busway, like putting a footbridge at the Ortigas bus stop - something that commuters desperately need.
@@GadgetAddict My mother said that there is a bill on the way that would prevent motorists who are not at fault, from being arrested. I think it's called the defensive driving act.
@@johnarat9618 there's been various lawmakers that have talked about modernizing the laws and rules surrounding this issue, but it's been many years already and as of now, the situation is essentially still the same.

It seems there is a solid white line. Those motorcycles that cross all the way from the bus lane to the other side, are they charged for crossing those solid lines?
its time to increase to 10K penalties to 1st time Bus Lane violators,2nd Offense to 20K & 3rd Offense to Confiscation of Drivers License plus 50K penalty.
How bout still 5k but one week confiscation of license
Increase the 1st penalty to 15k with 1 month license suspension, 2nd offense to 30k with 3 months license suspension and 3rd offense to 50k and license suspension for 6 months. That is the way for them to really avoid the bus lane.
I hope there will be more trains and more public transport system will be build to reduce the traffic.
I think MMDA should try the opposite bus route, but they must carefully check specially some open lanes. Better they must implement traffic cameras
Perfect solution is penalty of 50K and 1 yr suspension.. BASIC. WHY no one did not think of this....
Because anyone, even the rich law makers, think that 5000 is quite a steep fine for first offence.
Unfortunately, to everyone's surprise, kamotes think it's too low.
And lamentably, it will take time to make a new law or amend the law to increase the fine.
Because you're the only genius here😂😂😂😂😂

The Supreme Court “temporary” ban on Non Contact Apprehension is like all other court cases, taking an eternity. By the time they get around to ruling on it people will no longer be driving cars! Jokes aside, traffic costs the economy billions of dollars a year and enforcement will help improve traffic conditions whilst helping finance government coffers and educating motorists to follow the rules. You’d think it would be a priority for the SC but they take their merry time as usual even though they don’t actually have a massive case load to pass judgement on. At least there is consistency to the ineffectiveness and inefficiency of all branches of government.
Seriously if the cctv can help law enforcement, it should be allowed 😮
Also, maybe the penalty should be rising again - everyone understands money.......
This is a dangerous for the enforcement without reflective vests
End result of a harsh Covid lock down with no Jeepneys or trikes on the roads so many citizens had to buy a motorcycle, too many motorcycles do to inifishent public transportation.
The jeepneys still hard to get into for the elderly, so no walk in , no AC and less of them in Laguna not sure about Manila.
Maybe i just missed it but do you have a video on the controversial Escalade No. 7??
No because that didn't happen during an operation.
That was a single enforcer that was helping commuters at a bus stop, she tried to apprehend the SUV but I'm sure you've seen the video and CCTV of what happened.
I have numerous posts about it on my Facebook page though.

Isn't there a point system in place wherein you accumulate enough offenses, you get banned from using and even renewing your license for a year or so? I'm not hearing it being actively reported anymore, so I'm curious if it's still enforced or monitored?
Something to take note since you've already covered some repeat offenders right?
Expired na nga, matatapang pa mag violate 🤣😂
Yung isang suv at around 4:00 minutes naka S1 na plate. Ano po meaning nun?
Why not simply put barriers from the beginning up to the end to solve problem and put guards every one or two hundred yard along the way to make sure they don’t move the barriers, that will solve the problem. The problem is the government will lose revenues from the fines.
CCTV is outlawed by what about still camera images that are triggered by vehicles in the bus lane ?
Just for verification purposes, the violators who runaway were fined automatically third offense right? Which is 25000php and a year of suspension, am I right? Why did the cadillac driver which has 7 plate number only were fined for DTS and unauthorized use of plate? Just for public knowledge.

Bad idea at this time. Not all edsa carousel stations are using the center island (Ayala). Also not ideal for the driver (right hand drive bus + left hand traffic flow). Also, not all of edsa carousel lane is blocked by concrete barrier (yet).

First. What is a spot report?
It’s like an incident report for traffic enforcers.
It’s a record of what happened according to them.
A spot report, as someone else mentioned, is basically like an incident report, and is written by the enforcer shortly after an untoward incident happens, such as someone running away.
Typically it would include the date, time, location, an explanation of what happened, who was involved, details of the vehicle and such like.
The enforcer would submit that to the office and the admin would take the next step, which could involve sourcing cctv footage, contacting other parties etc.
Ultimately everything gets submitted to LTO and they issue a show-cause order requiring the driver and registered owner to attend a hearing.

That plate number is actually a temporary plate number assign by LTO, my motorcycle also has a plate number with that format on OR, LTO said its temp plate number.
If your LTO plate hasn't been issued, you need to use a temporary plate with your mv file number (for motorcycles)
LTO does use numbers as a holder, to guide people on registration and such like, but it's not a unique number and it's not to be printed on a plate.
Honestly I don't know why the people who are selling custom or temporary plates are even printing ones like that, they should know better.
@@GadgetAddict well, you should blame LTO for giving temp plate number indicated on OR, it makes motorcycle owner confuse sometimes. I was confuse by it as well, i almost use my temp plate number indicated on my OR instead of my MV file number.
