Best explanation I’ve come across so far. Very well done, thanks!
I'm very happy that it was helpful! I guess I'll make more tutorials like this one in the future
Finally someone exlained the intro in detail.
Happy to read this :)
Yeah man normally ppl play it without the open string between, or they don't tell you that, no wonder it never sounded right... great lesson man!
@@crayzeewhorse Thank you!!
@@crayzeewhorse I am a guitar beginner and has played it with a unmuted open string inbetween and it always sounded wrong.
I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do the mute, but atleast I know why my riffs sounds wrong.
the best tutorial of before I forget it had got the best explanation thanks bro
!
Thank you!
Bro broke it down to a perfect science
Thank you for the comment! ☺️
Thanks a lot for this, very detailed

I'm glad you liked it!
Ngl, 7:55 sounded like a Linkin Park song for a second.
Hey man, please continue doing tutorials. This kind of content is golden and very rich with information. I think this channel could grow big with weekly videos like this!
Thanks for the comment! Glad to hear that. New content will be out soon, working on it 😄
You can use a baritone guitar
Beautiful guitar btw
Thank you very much!)
Great teacher
Thanks bro!!
Such good explanation, can you tell me how to get that slipknot tone too :D
You can find the explanation in this tutorial I made :)
ruclips.net/video/0S7nGHhWncg/видео.html
Finally a lesson that actually teaches 🙏🏽
Thank you for the comment!
Cant i just tune my guitar to drop b?
What kind of guitar is that I spent so long trying to find it?
It’s a Solar type S, however this was an early limited edition batch so you won’t find this exact model 6 strings with evertune bridge anymore. You can check out similar models on solar guitars website (here’s the link):
www.solar-guitars.com/categorie-produit/type-s/
great tutorial!
Thanks a lot! 🙏
I know I’m late but this intro is to fast for my picking hand and hard to play on beat do you have any tips ?
Hey) Have you tried practicing working only on the right hand pattern (as explained at 5:56 in this video)? The intro might be "too fast" for you now, but it doesn't mean you can't build up the speed over time! Set the metronome at low bpm, or don't even use it and focus on repeating perfectly the pattern of the right hand so that you ingrain in.
If you want I'm available to give you some tips with a video call over skype on how to practice, so that you can learn how to play it clean at full speed! Send me a message on instagram @pedrhard or by mail pedrhard@gmail.com
@@Pedrhardthank you
hey i know i’m late, but i’m new to guitar and i’m not sure how to set my amp to get this sound, what setting did you use?
Hey man! In this other video I give some tips on tone settings ruclips.net/video/0S7nGHhWncg/видео.html
If you're new and with just an amp maybe it won't be really clear, but the gist of it is that you can connect your guitar to your pc with an audio interface (like Audient for example). Then you open a software called reaper (digital audio workstation) to see/record/adjust your guitar signal, and you can add a plugin (for example from Neural DSP) which simulates amps and effects, so you will get a distorted sound. If not clear hit me up on IG @pedrhard and I can explain with an audio or chat.
@@Pedrhard thanks! that helps a lot actually!
Big thanks for this tutorial and link to download the backtrack!
Happy to read that you found it helpful!
could you please do a tutorial on dead memories?
I love that song! It's definitively on my "to-do" list with other Slipknot songs (sic, surfacing, disasterpiece, the devil in I etc..) however I'm currently working 100% on improving my technique and learning Machine by Born of Osiris, check it out and stay tuned for a cover + tutorial + small documentary of my progression over the months!
So simple.... but so complicated at the same time!
Repeat the pattern at slow tempo first for multiple hours until it's completely ingrained in you! Then you can work on speed and it won't feel complicated! Good luck 👍
Bro subbed! Very clear explanation
Thanks for the feedback and the sub! New videos and tutorials soon 😉
Dude, you are awesome!
YOU are!
Thank you for lesson.
From Russia with love.
In my country, there are terrible training videos, and the English segment is not particularly happy. but your analysis is super, sorry there are not enough tabs😅.
Thanks for the comment! I really hope you can learn this song. Stick around because there will be more videos and tutorials like this one in the future!
how do you get your tone
In this video I explained how I got the tone I used in "Before I Forget": ruclips.net/video/0S7nGHhWncg/видео.html
However now I have an Axe FX III so I will probably make a new video in future about tones!
You have an accent… I LIKE IT!
Dude you should create another riff breakdown like this. It helps
Thanks for the comment, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Stay tuned for more
Good explanation but mute the other strings, please!
Good point, I was getting annoyed by that as well while rewatching the video! But I was also exaggerating the left hand movement to make sure it was clear
It's serving
I am your 200th subscriber...yay!
Awesome!!! Thank you very much :)
best video for this riff
Thank you!
What type of guitar is this
Solar S1.6 ET LTD LIME BURST MATTE. It's limited edition, but you can find very similar almost identical versions on Solar guitars website: www.solar-guitars.com/shop/?shipping_around=all&color_body=all&shape=Type+S&material_body=all&shape_for_left_handed=all&pickup_neck=all&scale=all&number_of_strings=all&tail_%26_tail_piece_body=all#
