    ohmygoodness. This was quite the repair! There seems to be always a trip to a store to fix things.-Michelle

      So true, it seems multiple trips to the store is becoming a regular occurance on our "fixes...." Thanks for watching and commenting- Kyle and Michelle

    Darn nice looking new axles you have there. You have far more patience than I to record the repair job while it is underway. I would be obsessed with the fix. Good ole American ingenuity. Nice job and kudos on yet another well done video.

      Thanks 👍Those axles probably have no more than about 2k miles on them. Glad you noticed 8) No project it worth its weight unless you have to MacGuyver something and make multiple trips to the store- Kyle

    Wow! What a project! Stan would have been upset if you had been able to finish without that third trip to the store! 😂

      Thanks Marilyn, tell Stan no fear. It's at least three trips with every project, maybe even more. Hope all is well with you guys. Miss you and hope to cross paths again later this year with you guys

    Lol Ron and I laughed at your Artic Pkg comment. It’s annoying when they do shoddy workmanship. Good job fixing it!!!

    • @thewanderingshores
      @thewanderingshores  3 месяца назад +2

      Yeah I have no idea how they can refer to something as Arctic package and not have even an ounce of insulation in the entire underbelly. Even though it wasn't ideal, I think routing the heat vent down into that cavity is the better thing. Anyway.- Kyle and Michelle

    Just an FYI. When I had my solar installed they had to cut the coroplast to get at some wiring. It looks like they used butyl tape and screws to attach the new patch. Made for a pretty clean job and has held up fine.

    • @thewanderingshores
      @thewanderingshores  3 месяца назад +1

      Okay good. I'm hoping this will hold up as well. We haven't traveled yet with that. Choroplast patch job on the bottom but we should know by the end of next week if it's going to hold up over time and mileage.

      No truer words were ever spoken. It seems like that's what happens whenever I get into a repair project on this RV. But it seems to be holding up pretty well after a few weeks of using it this way.

    It was very interesting watching you repair your floor. We got the "artic package" too with no insulation! We were worried when you said you had to cut the coroplast because we have heard over and over how the tape keeps coming off. We are looking forward to seeing if the solution works for keeping the coroplast intact. And by the way, we wanted to see your trip to Lowes! 🤪 ~ Shion and Matthew

      Thank you guys, the true test on the coroplast starts tomorrow as we are finally back on the road, we will keep everyone updated. Fingers Crossed it Holds. Yes the Arctic Package is a joke, having the second furnace vent in the underbelly is probably better in the long run anyway. Thanks for your support. Miss you guys- Kyle and Michelle

    It's a shame the factory over cut those holes for that vent.WOW a lot of work good job.

    • @thewanderingshores
      @thewanderingshores  3 месяца назад +1

      Yeah this whole thing could have been avoided if they just were taking their time a little bit more with their cuts and better yet. If like in the newer models they just put the vents in the kick plate of the cabinet instead of right down the center of the walkway which is the worst design I think I've ever seen

    My 2019 keystone cougar has a soft spot in my kitchen floor as well with no evidence of water damage. Apparently there was a problem with the flooring system then, which I learned they would fix under warranty (if it was still valid.) since I combined my two rv drain valves into one last year I have more patches than not under my camper 😂.

      Thats interesting about the warranty.... Ours is a 2018 so never even thought about the chance they might cover something like that. Clearly now that I have "fixed" it myself I have voided that. 8) We hit the road this week so I'll let you know if our underbelly fix holds up... It was your handywork that gave us the idea- Kyle

    Our 2024 23MLE also has some flex around the floor vents. But at this point, I’m not seeing a problem. Have you or others had actual floor failure that caused you to want to do this fix? Thanks.

    • @thewanderingshores
      @thewanderingshores  3 месяца назад +2

      We were not having any real issues with the flex, other than we did not know what was causing it, plus just concern that it was going to get worse. Several of the othere ownders of the similar years and before have gone the route of putting in new flooring etc. I did not think it was water damage but was not sure. I was glad to see it was just poor design and over cutting for the vents. They have changed the vents to the kickplate now so they are out of the way and junk does not fall into them all the time.

    Appears you have some blue airbags on your suspension. What motivated the install? and do they help?

    • @thewanderingshores
      @thewanderingshores  3 месяца назад +1

      Good eye Gregory, yes those are sumo springs and they have been wonderful. They really help stabilize the trailer when towing and even more when we are taking it off road like we do a lot. They also save the leafsprings from having to work so hard. If you are interested we did an install video on them. They are really very easy (if you don't have to move the propane line). ruclips.net/video/h89Uo_X7Ntk/видео.html

      Thanks for sharing this. We have to tackle this repair on ours, the same location the vent in the middle of the floor by the refrigerator where we step all the time. So I'm going to watch this video a few times.
      Can't wait to see you guys on the road again. Safe travels!!😊
