  • It’s hard to deliver on a trilogy, but mind architect Peter Crone is not one to disappoint! One of the most talked about guests of 2020 is back for a third brilliant episode. We talk about how to manage expectations, what is really going on when we get in a fight with a partner, and the continual death and rebirth of the ego that is required for growth. And in a touching moment for me personally, he helped me to reperspect and liberate myself from the fear of suffering that arose during my uncle’s fatal bout with cancer.

I am going to listen to this several times…jewels of beautiful information 😍💕💜💕💜💕💜 My identical twin sister sickened with a terrible neurological condition when we were 13 years old, and died when we were 27.. My lesson of this lifetime. Takeaway quote for me: “Don’t use someone else’s death as an opportunity to worry about your own. Use that person’s death as an opportunity to illustrate how loving you are”. Not a direct quotation, but so meaningful to me💜💜💜💜💜

21:07 “People go trough life as prisoners of their mind.
The only prison anyone lives in is their own perspective, their own point of view.
And if you can crack that - THERE IS NO GREATER GIFT
THERE IS NO GREATER SENSE OF LIBERATION AND FREEDOM
Than be able to help someone to see the prison they live within, that they superimpose onto circumstance but really is a reflection of the conversation they’ve had inside of them - usually for decades.
And to break that apart, that’s recoding that really is the ultimate emancipation of suffering”

This is truth. I was kicked out of my home a week ago due to my act of disciplining our 5 year old in a non violent way that was not family approved. I made a decision at that point to learn every I can and accept whatever comes into my life as i gleefully work to develop massive wealth for my family. I was truly reacting in a way because “it was nap time”. There is no nap time. It doesn’t matter. Everything always resolves if you can recognize why you’re reacting.

It's not just the fear that something of value will emerge from the ashes of the dying ego, it's also often the complete ignorance that there is anything at all beyond the death of the ego/self i.e. if "I" die, then that is THE END. That identification of self with ego is complete, and the terror of ego death shows up as "there is nothing beyond this".

Wow Peter. You summarize all that I went through in my 20s in your 32 minutes in the conversation. Exhausted deflated, anxious, borderline depression are to name the few I juggled in to my 30s. How appreciative I am of my teachers, you are one of them, Byron Katie, Dr. Wayne Dyer, Joe dispenza... But most importantly my participation in life with no interruption through and through even in ghe most difficult times. I am aware and willing to walk with my head up high approaching 60s with more compassion, love and Autheticity without judgment fist for myself and then for others. I thank you all do much for being part of this emancipation and recreation of self. Let's all push the reset button and get busy with a life filled with joy and freedom ❤🎉😊😊😊😊

In regards to the journaling being a sacred space, when I was a teen I went to a juvenile home for attempting suicide multiple times.
In this home for a bunch of troubled teens hurting themselves and society, I was encouraged to journal.
So for the first time in my life I reluctantly did, and then 2 girls that were much bigger and older than me broke into my personal suitcase, stole some of my stuff and read my journal. They were mean and cruel after that and often laughed at me.
I was mortified with humiliation. It took me 3 decades to believe and feel that it is safe to write down how I truly feel ever again.
Life is certainly an adventurous journey of fear, pain, healing, and learning to love one self despite the circumstances and people around us.

My sacred places and my spiritual practice has been repeatedly violated throughout my entire life so there is no physical sacred place that you can go to... only within. I suffered because I did not do enough deep meditation and stay on track. I also left the circle of conscious friendships that I had in my life. I guess I learned to be in source without the support of others.

Internalizing things said to you by parents of anyone outside of yourself is natural but there is the part where you have a response to things you can leave what is said with the person who said it or then you can internalize it own and make it your own...you have a choice of how you talk to yourself and how you treat yourself and what you digest manifests your reality...so very true....you don't need to own everything that happens or doesn't happen...

Aubrey the willingness you have to do your inner work with us all listering is what makes these talks. You go deep and its very personal, very authentic. Ive only just met with Peter and he's a beautiful speaker with so much to respect, but I can't but be struck by his reluctance to share his deeper more personal battles. You asked him to share something of his own in your first talk right after your share and he quipped that he'd played shit tennis. You asked again in this one after you'd gone deep and he again deflected with humour and asked if covid was real or not.. Maybe it's a reaction from coaching to keep the focus on the client and not himself.. Just something that stood out for me.. Still love listening to him and you both, but I really admire your deep willingness to do the work so publicly, the contrast was striking. Much Love.. .

I suspect that the adult tendency to focus on scarcity and lack- the idea that something is missing before we can engage in something properly- may be rooted in consumerism, being that most of us are indoctrinated into the mindset of a consumer regardless of consent thanks to exposure to advertising and the psychological effects of it over many years. It seems to tap into a primal desire to survive, warping it into a feeling of unending lack.

He speaks like he is has the answer for everything but it feels more like righteousness and condescending. His ego is extremely healthy and intact. So the message is convoluted and conflicted...

I think the underlying theme of Pete & Aubrey’s discussion here is very Heideggerian..hear me out.. that we forget to free the mind and that we need constant reminding and emboldening to take that process seriously. They are a little bit too cavalier about the notion of death I think. What inhabits our Subconscious is as Heidegger put it, the Fear of das licht, the nothing. Of not being. Have you ever caught yourself In a moment where we notice the uncanny strangeness of everything, of being.?
But for the most part it doesn’t change the fact that most of us continue to treat others as means and not ends.
I felt Peter was being a little too ‘clever’ and needs to speak more descriptively about the significances of stepping outside of the self to take that more expansive view. See what Heidegger identified as The unity of being.
An idea that can provide a springboard to a deeper form of generosity, an overcoming of alienation and egoism recognising the short time we have before the nothing takes us in turn.
We were thrown into our lives at the beginning into a world with little to prepare us for it. And this feeling of throwness is what we inherit and carry with us.
Heidegger identified that to understand our throwness, we need to grasp our own psychological, social and professional provincialism and look to more universal perspectives and make what seems to be a classic Heideggerian journey from inauthenticity to the authentic.
All that said I did enjoy and thanks chaps!
