  • Above everything else, people want to feel happy - and to experience freedom from suffering. It’s not the car, the promotion or the relationship we really want - it’s the happiness we believe we will derive from it. But what if the very act of seeking happiness is exactly what is stopping us from experiencing true happiness?
That is the essence of this week’s conversation with Peter Crone. He calls himself the Mind Architect, and says his work is not about solving problems, but about dissolving them. You see, the brain is a prediction making machine. So, it creates problems at the level of thought, and then goes about trying to solve the imagined problem at the very same level at which it has been created. As you hopefully can see, that’s not a recipe for success.
The answer lies in enquiring into the places where we appear not to be free, and questioning the reality of those assumptions. That is the nature of the game of life.
In this episode Peter also talks about his experience of working with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman so keep listening for that!

You had me in stitches at times! The point that we need to be happy now as opposed to happy in the future, is well taken. Yet our happiness does depend upon our choices, the things we decide to pursue and which generate results and outcomes for which we can be immensely grateful... or less so, if things turn out awry, albeit subject to mind-architect modification. Of course, it's all in the journey and being present to life's unfolding in healthy ways (including dealing with our conditioned stories). Entertaining and great insights toward freedom.😀

Just an FYI -- I gave you a thumbs-up yesterday and today when I went to share it with a friend that I felt would really resonate, the thumbs-up was no longer showing so I did it again. I noticed this a lot with y.t. on truly the best of the best videos. Hum!

Beautiful dialogue thank you. The reverse engineering exercise was discussing around the 54 minute, became aware of feeling an experience around the age of 11. To witness observe that moment from a different space now very fascinating. Tearful moment ❤

Wonderful listen 😊 I’ve heard a lot of PC on different podcasts and it’s so powerful to hear his back story - helps to feel that little bit less alone. Thanks Simon for this conversation.

The pursuit of happiness is like a dog chasing its tail. It is something to do. Just sit down doggie and your tail will be right there.
