  • In today's episode, Emily interviews Peter Crone, a writer, speaker, and thought leader in human awakening. Peter delves into the nature of human identity and potential, introducing the concept of "neti neti" from Buddhism. He emphasizes the importance of removing false identities to realize our true selves. Peter discusses suicidal ideation as a call to let go of limiting narratives and false identities, urging compassion for the suffering self. He distinguishes pain from suffering, highlighting that suffering arises from our interpretations of circumstances. Peter advocates for presence in the moment, rejecting the urge to be elsewhere. He shares his experience with loneliness, emphasizing the need for self-compassion and connection to our essence. Peter addresses the belief of "not being enough," advocating for awareness and practice to embody one's enoughness. He also advises supporting a partner on their spiritual journey with compassion and acceptance, nurturing unseen growth.
    Today’s Key Points:
    1. Human Identity & Potential
    2. "Neti Neti" Concept Introduction
    3. Suicidal Ideation & Letting Go
    4. Pain vs. Suffering
    5. Presence in the Moment

I've watched a lot of interviews with Peter and this is the best. You are a brilliant and insightful interviewer and most importantly you have the grace to not interrupt or ask long-winded questions to impress Peter and your audience which always does the opposite. Thank you for facilitating his genius so brilliantly. I will watch this many times and share.

Intimate relationship with reality means to live your life not in your own head , meaning reincarnating past pains and projecting them into the future and living in fear of the this hypothetical future, but to live in the NOW knowing that every new moment is for itself full of possibilities.
What happened, happened and it couldn't happened any other way because it didn't.
Life is the way it is, but only always.
Accept your reality and be curious of your possibilities.

“The death of the idea of ourselves is actually the birth of the true essence of ourself.”
What a beautiful journey it is to walk that path, this path of liberation from the false self and to receive the gift of our true self. Beautiful tears ❤

The root of suffering in my opinion is our nature, meaning people always experience the feeling of a loss twice as strong as the feeling of gain. This is our normal basic (primitive) thinking and it is totally OK.
Why are people addicted to their own suffering?
Addiction to projecting the worst possible outcome in your head is based on the primal need of feeling the relief when you avoid this scenario, meaning if you can't control what is about to happen to you, the pleasure of avoiding the pain is much more pleasant than the reward of getting the thing you want. When people project they are already in pain or discomfort and when the bad doesn't happen they feel almost magical relief and that is addictive.
Other aspect is : people experience the feelings of lack or not enoughness as a familiar things and something familiar feels as something SECURE, this false security makes our lives predictable. For our brain is easier to think in this way rather than to expect positive outcomes ( they are not "the norm" and that's why they feel threatening)
The other thing is that our brain is trained during the years to FOCUS and remember the thing that confirm its perspective even if there are evidences of the opposite.
Change in the perspective and perception require focus energy and training, it is like training a muscle, hard in the beginning but eventually the inertia takes up.
Be consistent and mindful, focus on the positive and expect the better results.

Weed is not an issue, it's a creative gift of creation and was here before consciousness, it's a spritual tool that connects us with plant consciousness that is of creation and is probably what unlocked are true poetinal as mammals, peter has a limited interpretation of weed from coming from a limting belief of your own.
Ego is a terrible word - as it's a fresh creation, it's only definition if you make it, but ego keeps the associated attachment.
& why all the dogmatic concepts peter, such as heaven & hell when these are limitations of vastness
59:30 - women can socially be both simultaneously victims & empowered depending on who they want to be to influence soft control over or out of someone. & the white knight stuff isn't on behalf of all men as a generalization.
