I feel like you would appreciate BTS. They did a whole "Love Myself" campaign with UNICEF and a whole series of "Love Yourself" albums. They have also done a couple speeches at the United nations about it. I appreciate the fuck out of them for using their influence to push a positive message because it's not as common as it should be.

"Love Myself" and "Magic Shop" are both beautiful songs. They have such wonderful messages & lyrics as well 💜 Neither has a music video, but both have high quality live performances that are available with subtitles. Just make sure that the title says subtitles when you search them. There's also an absolutely beautiful song called "Epiphany" by one of the members (Jin) that I think you'd also love 💜 There's a short music video for it, but it's not the whole song. I’m trying to recommend songs from BTS but I like a LOT of their songs so I can’t pick 🥲 Jen you are so amazing, I had to subscribe and watch a few of your videos for like 20 minutes straight (maybe longer actually lol) the way you talk about the lyrics, it made me cry as well because I had a friend who changed himself for not just someone, but multiple people. And I just feel like he’s really lost himself, and we’ve known each other for years, only to feel like he’s slowly dying and disappearing.

I'm in my 30's and found BTS during one of the darkest periods of my life. Honestly, I'm not sure I would have disconnected from codependent and emotionally exhausting relationships had I not come across them. Their words and message even inspired me to start therapy and it's saved my life. It might seem like a big commitment but I'd suggest you listen through the Love Yourself series. Even if it's on your own time (though I'd love to see you listen and share your opinions on what you hear). They go through the process of a relationship (with someone else, or even just with yourself). It's a beautiful journey. The songs that hit me right when I needed them were Epiphany and Answer: Love Myself. I still cry reading the lyrics. Sending love, stranger!
South Korea has some of the highest suicide rates. BTS is doing everything they can to try to change that--speaking out about issues, emotions, etc. They are amazing healers.

I just found this video of yours. I'm so glad I did. My husband is a recovering alcoholic, and I lost who I was. I became who he thought I should be. He is now 3 years sober, we both found who we truly are. I found myself, and began to love myself again. It's still a work in progress, but I'm getting there fully day by day. I felt your tears. I have been through a lot in my whole life, but I will not allow that to determine my self worth. I found BTS about 2 months ago just when I needed them, just like they say. I cried too the first few times I watched the video and read those lyrics. It IS really deep and this is also without a doubt one of my favorite songs of them. I know it by heart. I've only known them since about 2 months now and I already bought 5 of their albums and am completely into them. They are absolutely amazing. Unlike a lot of groups, they actually work on their own music and stuff which I find awesome. They've also come a really long way. Their journey is truly inspiring. They were total underdogs at the beginning and everyone told them they wouldn't make it, and look at them now, their song Dynamite is nominated for a Grammy. As someone who has struggled with mental health since I was a teen, I also love their message and strive to try and live by it. It's still hard to love myself, but I feel really blessed that I found out about their existence and I think that's already helping me a lot. The leader, RM/Namjoon even said in a beautiful speech once "Please use BTS to love yourself" That speech made me cry too come to think of it.

Honestly I was going through a hard time in 2016 and that's when I discovered BTS and I listened to their songs are amazing, the lyrics are so relatable...til today I still listen to "Outro: Wngs" it's an uplifting song for me. "I Need U" is the first song that got me hooked to BTS.
In 2018 when i first heard BTS sincerely like you i felt these lyrics as i was going through those hard fake love life parts .As time goes by because of BTS i got rid of that toxic person from my life,find myself, understood what i am and who i am and slowly loved myself.Obhiously it was not easy as i had family issues,mental health issues,eating disorder but now after 3 years i am happy even though not everything is doing okay in life but like RM said we don't need to be happy after achieving ,we can be happy throughout the process too.I hope You become happy too .Your reaction is just my favorite.💜 you.

you will never regret knowing bts. ofc BTS is a musical phenomenon and media revolution right now, but they are also a massive educational power with the massages they promote. people, who are invested in BTS, learning other cultures and languages, learning social subject a lot, because BTS always have what to say through their lyrics, learning about mental issues and how to deal with it. in both tittle tracks and b-side songs BTS has tackled such topics as depression and anxiety, loneliness and suicide, politics and government, social economics, women’s empowerment, believing in your dreams and in yourself, not living somebody else's dream, old and younger generation issues, motivation to youth, self love, pandemic disorders (list may be continued...) it may not seem... sufficient from the other's perspective just to listen to some songs and call it an education. but thier songs are always a starting point to further actions and it's crucially important BTS's ideology as of group of humans with only positive intentions have made me better and they continue to do so. their purpose was always to heal people with music, to fight for the underrepresented voices. i would really suggest you to watch "This is BTS" by xCeleste to understand who are BTS, why are they not just a boyband and what do they stand for

So this is actually a three-part album called the love yourself series. the first was love yourself her, the second is love yourself tear, which is the album with this song fake love as the title track and the third album is love yourself answer which shows that actually loving yourself first before someone else is the answer and the main track is basically celebrating self love and how other peoples opinions can't affect you and shouldn't affect you also there is a song called epiphany by one of the members which is an introduction so that is also a great song that me makes me emotional every single time I listen to it

And of course the good stuff too, like love, happiness, self development and so on. 😄 They know pain, they're the typical underdog story. They fought tooth and nail for what they have! They do all genres from blues to rap, so there's always a BTS song for your mood. And they write and create most of their music themselves unlike most K-pop groups. They're not afraid to put themselves out there with shows like their game show Run BTS and their travel show Bon Voyage. They are very humble and approachable, which just makes their fandom love them all the more. We, their fandom ARMY which counts 50+ million, are the most diverse fans ever with for example 25% of ARMY being 40+ (like me at 45), and all kinds of religions, races, continents, genders etc. (btw - they're from Korea, not Japan. K-pop as in Korean pop. 😉)

There's so much I could say but I'll try to summarize it by saying that I will be rewatching this video when I need to hear support and feel understood and encouragement. My first relationship was extremely toxic, and I stayed for 4 years (which is 4 years too long) while living under the same roof as him and his twin (did I mention how toxic and abusive it was? The mind games, the psychological, physical, sexual abuse should have had me fleeing). Near the end I tried leaving so many times but he wouldn't let me. I had to escape in the middle of the day when he left home, my heart was racing but I vowed to never be in a relationship again. He kept tracking me down but I will never, ever go back. Jen you're so right when you talk about setting your boundaries and putting a heavy tax on them. I wish I had known someone like you when I was younger - it's been over a decade and I'm still trying to heal the wound. Thank you for your words of wisdom, they mean more than I could ever say. 💜

Correction. They are not from Japan they are from South Korea. Maybe by this time you know it. BTS has a story line and their song are almost all inter connected and have deep messages or meanings. They are not just your typical boyband as they are way different bands that you know. They just don't sing songs about sex drugs booze etc but they sing about other artists will not talk about like depression bullying discrimination and other subjects that everyone is going thru as they themselves have experienced. I'm in my 30's and found BTS during one of the darkest periods of my life. Honestly, I'm not sure I would have disconnected from codependent and emotionally exhausting relationships had I not come across them. Their words and message even inspired me to start therapy and it's saved my life. It might seem like a big commitment but I'd suggest you listen through the Love Yourself series. Even if it's on your own time (though I'd love to see you listen and share your opinions on what you hear). They go through the process of a relationship (with someone else, or even just with yourself). It's a beautiful journey. The songs that hit me right when I needed them were Epiphany and Answer: Love Myself. I still cry reading the lyrics. Sending love, stranger!

If you're personally touched by just this first song from BTS, you've got a very long road ahead of you because BTS and ARMY (fandom name) will take you on a beautiful journey. There are many layers to BTS and one song from them is just the very tip of the iceberg. The truth untold, paradise, louder than bombs and spring day are some of my favs! They all have lyrics that are sad.
I cried too the first few times I watched the video and read those lyrics. It IS really deep and this is also without a doubt one of my favorite songs of them. I know it by heart. I've only known them since about 2 months now and I already bought 5 of their albums and am completely into them. They are absolutely amazing. Unlike a lot of groups, they actually work on their own music and stuff which I find awesome. They've also come a really long way. Their journey is truly inspiring. They were total underdogs at the beginning and everyone told them they wouldn't make it, and look at them now, their song Dynamite is nominated for a Grammy. As someone who has struggled with mental health since I was a teen, I also love their message and strive to try and live by it. It's still hard to love myself, but I feel really blessed that I found out about their existence and I think that's already helping me a lot. The leader, RM/Namjoon even said in a beautiful speech once "Please use BTS to love yourself" That speech made me cry too come to think of it.

Honestly I was going through a hard time in 2016 and that's when I discovered BTS and I listened to their songs are amazing, the lyrics are so relatable...til today I still listen to "Outro: Wngs" it's an uplifting song for me. "I Need U" is the first song that got me hooked to BTS.

ofc BTS is a musical phenomenon and media revolution right now, but they are also a massive educational power with the massages they promote. people, who are invested in BTS, learning other cultures and languages, learning social subject a lot, because BTS always have what to say through their lyrics, learning about mental issues and how to deal with it. in both tittle tracks and b-side songs BTS has tackled such topics as depression and anxiety, loneliness and suicide, politics and government, social economics, women’s empowerment, believing in your dreams and in yourself, not living somebody else's dream, old and younger generation issues, motivation to youth, self love, pandemic disorders (list may be continued...)

The part that impresses me the most is the words "Save me" at 12:14- if you were to put your screen upside down they read "I'm fine"
So this is actually a three-part album called the love yourself series. the first was love yourself her, the second is love yourself tear, which is the album with this song fake love as the title track and the third album is love yourself answer which shows that actually loving yourself first before someone else is the answer and the main track is basically celebrating self love and how other peoples opinions can't affect you and shouldn't affect you also there is a song called epiphany by one of the members which is an introduction so that is also a great song that me makes me emotional every single time I listen to it

They're not afraid to put themselves out there with shows like their game show Run BTS and their travel show Bon Voyage. They are very humble and approachable, which just makes their fandom love them all the more.
We, their fandom ARMY which counts 50+ million, are the most diverse fans ever with for example 25% of ARMY being 40+ (like me at 45), and all kinds of religions, races, continents, genders etc.

My first relationship was extremely toxic, and I stayed for 4 years (which is 4 years too long) while living under the same roof as him and his twin (did I mention how toxic and abusive it was? The mind games, the psychological, physical, sexual abuse should have had me fleeing). Near the end I tried leaving so many times but he wouldn't let me. I had to escape in the middle of the day when he left home, my heart was racing but I vowed to never be in a relationship again. He kept tracking me down but I will never, ever go back. Jen you're so right when you talk about setting your boundaries and putting a heavy tax on them. I wish I had known someone like you when I was younger - it's been over a decade and I'm still trying to heal the wound. Thank you for your words of wisdom, they mean more than I could ever say. 💜

Correction. They are not from Japan they are from South Korea. Maybe by this time you know it. BTS has a story line and their song are almost all inter connected and have deep messages or meanings. They are not just your typical boyband as they are way different bands that you know. They just don't sing songs about sex drugs booze etc but they sing about other artists will not talk about like depression bullying discrimination and other subjects that everyone is going thru as they themselves have experienced.
