Friends, Fortnite just made an announcement that may KILL Roblox. They just announced Fortnite Creative 2.0, which integrates the Unreal Engine... which is used to make some of your FAVORITE games! Will this be enough to pull game developers over to Fortnite instead of Roblox? We'll have to just wait and see...

Nope, just my opinion, the community is killing roblox, 40% of the community are just bratty 9 year olds who got a voice chat by getting their mothers passports at 3 am, I'll admit some robloxians are nice but really some of them can be so goddamn annoying.

Engines are different from languages, scripting for roblox is going to be different than coding for gmod or the playdate.

Roblox developers don't deserve that. 90% of them make grindy, unbalanced, pay-to-win, and at times not even functioning games and they exploit children by making the grind so bad it's almost like gambling. Add onto the fact that most developer teams trash talk their own community in their public Discord servers, and you're left with a bunch of angsty teenagers who don't care about making games or their fans, just making money. It's scummy and no one calls them out for it because Roblox games don't get wide spread attention. (Seriously, if you think loot boxes in games are bad, they're nothing compared to some of game passes you can by in Roblox where you need to "roll" certain things.) If Nintendo released a game with the same quality as the average Roblox game, they'd be cancelled on Twitter within minutes of release.

Roblox also only pays out once you make above a certain amount, which most games don’t do either. I’d say the main advantage Roblox has here is that kids already do stuff there and may not want to eventually move over to Fortnite since they’re already used to it (but kids can be fickle so who knows).

I'd say the only advantages is roblox doesn't care much about copyright stuff while fortnite has a big block on other copyrighted things being created now :/ I get why but still feels limiting. Fortnites system to find minds is also really bad, their is no search outside of premade tags. Overall though UEFN is awesome.

It isn’t that Fortnite cares about copyright, they have to remove the maps to prevent the map creator and/or Epic Games from being sued.
The same for Roblox. They had to take down some Pokémon fangames to prevent themselves from being sued

Correction: Roblox uses a semi-customised version of Lua, and Unreal uses a semi-customised version of C++. May I remind you that
a) Lua is much easier to learn then C++
b) A lot of games other then Roblox with the function to make maps/games (e.g Core) use Lua as well
c) Roblox has monetisation
d) Roblox has a higher player base then Fortnite
e) You can put Ads in your game and monetise. (new)

One thing is though you can still do more things on the roblox's editor than fortnite's. I've seen some of the horror maps made on fortnite and they don't come anywhere close to roblox due to the fact that they can't even have AI or properly moving objects Chase you. It's just this really stiff monster or whatever going in one direction then popping out another direction. If that's what fortnight's editor is limited too then they have a long way to go.
True, i have some experience in coding roblox games and coding entities to do a function like chase nearest player when in sight, and then add an animation if that trigger is met

From the games ive seen on fortnite, they still use the whole fortnite movement style, so it kinda limits the games that can be made, as their more like coded interactable maps than full games, at least from what i seen

In what world is Lua not used outside of Roblox? It's a pretty common game scripting language used in quite a few games and some engines. Sure you could argue their specific functions and such don't apply outside of it, but that's the same with any engine.
Roblox actually uses luau which is quite a bit more complicated but pretty much all it does is add more functions, aside from that i agree

@@marycool3649 I've used it a little bit for university work, but I've mainly been focussed on Unity as far as actually making games go, sorry, so I'm not really the best authority. There are some absolutely amazing tutorials out there though - I could definitely recommend looking into some of those

The thing is. Roblox can have literal fangames. For example forgotten memories. Fortnite won't allow anything related to a actual game

the only thing is that roblox's coding language is simpler and fortnite kind of forces you to use the same body type and physics engine with everything you make in it whilst in roblox you can literally make the player an egg or jojo siwa or literally anything

That's if we're not taking in consideration that they may put limitations on it that heavily limit what you can and can't make. Also the heavy amount of copyright infringements that Roblox doesn't have.

Trust me when I say this, it won't. Roblox has very regular movement and an avatar creator. While Roblox doesn't have a Kratos bundle, you can still make him. In Fortnite, it's either one character or another. Besides, Roblox has many surprisingly great games that look like they came straight from an actual company

but it runs even worse on the high end devices, u can straight up have a nasa pc but when u want to play a roblox game with just a tiny bit of quality u will still notice performance issues

@@revehd4144 You mean stutter? That's actually because of the game normally capping at 60fps. It is not using your cards' full performance. Do not spread blaitant missinformation if you have no idea how computer graphics work.
You can easily fix this issue by using FPS unlocker.
@@GeneralS1mba roblox doors for example took like half a year so it doesnt take 3 seconds to open an door also to this day its very buggy and weird sometimes

As someone who has been a roblox game developer and a self-taught lua programmer, I can confidently say that this is actually pretty genius.
In fact, I’ve recently started learning Unity because I can’t take my game developer skills anywhere else on Roblox. Don’t even get me started on Roblox’s monetization system…
When looking into UEFN, I personally found it to just be a level editor for Fortnite with barely any potential. Learning unity is definitely the correct way to go when trying to get real experience.

Nah lol, majority of Roblox players are in mobile. Well, what about Fortnite? Limited access to the mobile community. That's why Roblox will always be popular. It's not demanding in terms of graphics and so on.

The only thing roblox is being killed is by their 7 dollar potato server that has the urge to explode each Saturday
their servers are actually high tech.. Reason: It stores anything you can save on Roblox such as in gamedata, avatar data, etc etc, but we all can agree that they still have to upgrade their servers.
Honesty, I hope this is a wake up call for Roblox since the moderation, server shutdowns (like in October for 3 days), and the terrible pay have only been a thing because there was no competition.
