I find I usually catch 3 fish a day and usually catch 1 fish over 17 inches the days where I catch more than three I not really doing anything different how do I get to the point where I’m consistently catching my limit
I fish 100% from the bank but I apply the exact same concept that you just described. A lot of times I am fishing really fast, lately burning lipless crankbaits has been absolutely killer for me, I try to cover large areas and then once I get a bass or two, especially decent ones, I slow way down. Once I find them, I’m no longer fishing fast and covering area, I am being methodical
Great stuff Tyler, I am a finesse fisherman but I call my style "fast finesse" because I have discovered over time that 75%+ of my bites come on the fall or right after the cast. So when I drop shot, ned rig, wacky, etc. I literally will have the mindset that if the fish doesn't hit right away, tough luck for them and then I make another cast to the same or a new spot/target.
Next spring you should come fish the MLF at Indian Lake. This place had a rough patch over the summer because of them spraying all of the grass but this fall has been on fire! The spring time will take 16lbs or more to even cash a check in local events. I think the MLF event will have a huge field in it
One of the best days I ever had in the spawn season was when I was breaking in a new combo. I frequently had a little overrun while trying to toss a light T-rig. Half the time after I had pulled out the loose line, when I engaged the reel, my line was swimming off. 😂 Sometimes it’s better to be lucky than good. Definitely learned the value of dead sticking that day!
Sometimes I fish too fast and too slow for whatever reasons I’ll get those bass to bite either way. Every technique varies by how you retrieve them from fast to slow nor slow to fast and the bass will tell you what they want on any given day.
I'm in the same boat, meaning I don't have one lol. Walk the bank, that's what I do. If you fan cast all spots twice (back and forth oscillating) either change bait or move. Another good tip, bring a machete, trimming shears, and go somewhere that NOBODY GOES!
I'm doing a series where I ask people for a lure recommendation and try to catch a fish on that lure. What lure would you recommend? It has to be under 15 dollars though
NEW Duck Shorts - finnfishing.com/collections/bottoms
They look great but $50 for some shorts is way out of my price range.

You do such a good job explaining these concepts. Thank you so much!
