Tyler, great video and your spot on regarding fishing finesse baits. I fish mainly in Georgia and had the opportunity to fish with the Xzone Steplth Creature bait in Green Pumpkin. I had an awesome day on the water. Caught about 20 bass in 4 hours in 2 to 5 foot of water. The lake I was fishing a keeper must be 14". I had 6 with the biggest being 4 pounds. While I enjoy fishing a spinning reel for smaller presentations I prefer using a baitcaster. I have a Shimano BFS Curado reel with a Shimano Zodias BFS 7' Light rod. Great little combo. I was using1 1/8 ounce weight with an Owner 1/0 Rig N Hook. It's perfect for the Xzone creature bait and cast a mile. It's truly a lot of fun and while you'll catch small fish the big ones will eat the small baits too. I use 7 pound fluorcarbon line and it's just a blast to catch fish on this finesse outfit. I even caught a 8 to 10 pound catfish that day. It took a while to land that fish with this outfit I loved every minute of it. I use a lot of the Xzone plastics as they float and truly catch fish.
My BFS set up and downsized baits have caught me fish this year when nothing else in standard size would get bit. My biggest bass this year, a 5-1/4 pounder, was caught on my BFS rod with a downsized jerkbait. Talk about a fun catch! Huge adrenaline rush! I have exclusively bank fished small ponds this year and BFS with smaller lures has been a blast! Tons of 1-3 pounders with a few 4’s and the 5-1/4. Just can’t beat it!
About the same for me! I got my PB on a 1/8th mico jig this year. While a lot of people are getting into big baits I’ve been trying to master the small stuff. And having a blast
@@arf189 for budgetish I highly recommend the curado 6’10 light. Just picked up an 6’8 light expride tho after breaking 2 dobyns 700c I won’t be getting another one of those. Hope that helps. Only a couple days old but feels outstanding so far
I grew up primarily using an ultralight - just liked the challenge. Amazing how many good bass from 1-4+ pounds eat tiny stuff thats less than 2" long & 1/16-1/64 oz. dinky jigheads.
Way to go, Tyler you brought on another winner!!!! my favorite finesse weight to throw is 3/16 especially fishing here on the Ohio River. 2 inch craws are my favorite go to Bait
I thought I heard a number of years ago that Ohio had maybe the worst ratio in the nation regarding acres of water to number of anglers. I have always admired you for being able to succeed in the industry. You gotta be tough and really love fishing to do that from here.
I recently picked up the zman micro goatz and I can’t wait to WRECK em at a pond! should be numbers… probably not much in size tho considering it’s a 1/16 oz 1.75 inch bait but still excited!

I've been catching a lot of bass, crappie and bluegill on the Bill Lewis Gnat in chartreuse. BFS fishing is so much fun!

last fall I decided to try 1.75" to 2" crappie lures (plastics) and was shocked at the size of smallies I was catching
Great video Tyler thanks for the tips with the finesse baits 👍🏻

My previous PB was caught on a 1/16oz crappie jig with a 1" Berkley honey worm, took me for a ride on 5lb test flouro 😂

Hilarious Calling a 2 inch bait tiny.. hahahaha!!! Trout magnet is tiny..
well how many BASS anglers will use a TROUT magnet? For us 2 inch is downsizing.
