Here’s the update: Various news agencies have reported that the Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) system for foreign tourists entering Thailand has been delayed, according to the Foreign Ministry's announcement on Monday. Initially scheduled for a December 2024 launch, the new rollout date remains uncertain as further coordination with relevant agencies is needed. We will keep you updated as more information arises. In our view, implementing this system flawlessly is a substantial challenge from the outset.
The question many will have is how does this affect those doing border runs to stay longer ? Initially, it would mean you would have to stay out of country until you get a new eVisa processed and approved online. But, the bigger question is will Thailand allow repeated eVisa's for tourist purposes back to back to back. I'm thinking they are wanting to eliminate that scenario but, I do not know for sure. If so, a person who wants to stay in Thailand longer is going to have to get a different form of visa instead of doing border runs. It's a big question !
It’s the same as our previous comment: currently, no ETA is required, and there’s no confirmed date for when it might be implemented. If there are any changes, we will provide an update.
The exempt visa will basically be moot, because if the ETA is approved, that will be a visa as far as I am concerned. Kind of a back door visa. And people like me who have traveled to Thailand 11 times will no longer be able to travel to Thailand if I don't have a smartphone. Not everyone is computer savvy,,,,,,,,,,
I could be wrong but, that July 2024 change made it possible to get a 60-day visa on arrival stamp vs the previous 30-day visa on arrival. This new system for Dec 2024 will incorporate that 60-day visa on arrival online instead of a manual check at entrance to Thailand. Does that sound right ?

Thanks to the WEF who want track all the world. Thailand don’t have nuts, they bends their knees before each small pressure
Maybe i`m wrong, but the changes are since 15th of July 2024 - not June 2025!!!
