Is it a real gun though?
That's not a Mauser, that's a Walther. You can remove the slide by pulling down the trigger guard.
I belive the 30/6dbutton is actually from a cash register, you would have pressed it down to on its lever to add the price on the till
Cheers Stu. Someone else said it’s the top to a cylinder savings tube. You would save 30 sixpences👍🏻
@@Sifinds oh yes that could be it as well, it’s all very intriguing, the only thing I would question with that idea is the it looks like it attached to something on the under side. Thanks for always giving epic videos mate, all the best Stu.
@@Sifinds Possibly the top of a bank weight that equals 30 x 6d
UK metal detectorist: Oh my God it's a gun!!! American detectorist: What another one?
And vice versa with Georgian coins 😂

I always find your content quite relaxing, even if you find a mysterious weapon in a bag
Cheers Mudlover 👍🏻🐾🧡
WOW! What a thrilling video….!🫣😬 Even you guys wading through the mud made watch with bated breath!😲 Very deep some places it got in the mud…But so relaxing to watch.😴🥱 I hope the gun you found Si is the “real deal” and you are allowed to keep it. Well I guess we will have to watch your future adventure to find out, won’t we? GL and HH on the next one….yourself and Cuff(love that guy!🥰) Blessings send from your loyal fan in Canada, Cheers Mate…..🙏🏼🍀👋🏼🇨🇦🍻
@@McChrister Cheers matey. Glad you enjoyed it!!
Si, on the upcycled brooch..on the bottom stone you still have 3 claws intact. try gently folding them over the stone for added security and authenticity of setting. Nice finds!
Good advice thanks👍🏻🐾🧡
This place is amazing ❤ I love watching your adventures here with Mike - there’s always so many pretty things! (and ugly dangerous things!)
Looking forward to seeing what comes up next 😘❤️
Cheers Beth x something for everyone! 👍🏻🐾🧡
I'm wondering the 30 and 6 "button" could be a button from an antique cash register? Interesting things boys. I hope you get to keep the gun, it's beautiful, such history it could hold.
It’s an old milk token
Amazing Si, I think your trident fork, is a pickle fork, laid on the side of the plate to spear your pickle. Awesome, till next time.🇨🇦👣🍁
Cheers Maz!👍🏻🧡🐾
The brooch from the clean-up turned out so well! What a lovely piece 💗
Personally, I like the flower motif 😉
The gun is one of the gruesome reminders, that apparently surface every so often.
(there was a renovation here in DK, that turned up a notebook, party card and ID of an SS officer, wrapped in a piece of oil cloth, under the floor boards)
Thx for a great outing w. Cubbs, see you in the gloop again soon! 👋
hello from Denmark 🌸
Cheers Z, well said 👍🏻🐾🧡
That 30 6d button I believe could be from an old cash register 👍
I thought that but it’s the top to a savings tube. 30 sixpences would fill it up 👍🏻🐾🧡
Excellent video! Very cool gun find! Simon never fakes anything, ever. To even suggest such a thing is ludicrous! Beautiful finds with Cuffs and Simon 👍👍👍
Do we have some sceptics in the house? Thanks for sticking up for me👍🏻🐾🧡
@@Sifinds You're the real deal Simon! And no messes with our Simon!
When you revealed the gun: I've never heard Cuffs so excited!
Haha. Unless you remember the time he found a gold coin?
Only a mudlarker would describe water you can’t see through as “clean”
Haha. Right👍🏻🐾🧡
Wow the gun was out of this world so amazing .. all the stuff you find are so interesting!! love watching you too in videos love the banter too .
Thanks so much👍🏻🐾🧡
My father loves your videos Can you put Hindi subtitles he tried to watch your videos with auto translate but they are not accurate lots of love from India 🇮🇳🇮🇳💞💞
I am with you on the addition of subtitles. Although I speak English, well the North Carolina slack jawed version of English, 🤣 the British accent is sometimes hard for me to understand. Love watching your adventures and treasure finds! Keep up the great work! God Bless
I would love to but it takes too long. Can you find an app to translate it for you?
I would love to have some of that junk you don’t really want, Burt I’m in the USA . And been in hospital. Hope you can keep the gun Simon.
It could only happen to you two! lol Great finds guys, love all the buttons. The bells could be a cake decoration? Also could the 6D button be from an old cash register? What a great day you had, worth all the gloop 😀
Definitely cash register button
@@robertcowell74 No. it’s from a cylinder collection tin. You collected 30 sixpences in a tube
Cheers Tanith👍🏻🐾🧡
@@Sifinds Ah never thought of a collection tube! You're welcome, have a great week 😊
@@Sifinds Nice one si love Channel brother
Really cool find! Hopefully the Walther PPK ends up being real. It being in a plastic bag kinda feels like it might be a fake. I'm sure it would be easy finding fake grips for those.
Theres no place for a mag
Thanks Si. What sweet brooches! Really liked the addition of the stones. Always exciting to find a firearm. Even if it turns out to be a replica prop. Could have been used in a crime to wave about threatening for a robbery .
What a day, buttons cannot go wrong, the brooches were wonderful, but the German gun was a really special find, look forward for more info. Keep up the good work
Cheers Kim! 👍🏻🐾🧡
The strange things about the gun is that was inside "modern" plastic bags . Maybe it was used recently. ?
It's a non-firing toy, made of zinc.
You found some great finds in all that gloop. The brooches and buttons were beautiful. ❤
Cheers Penny!👍🏻🐾🧡
Si finds its a wather ppk im 7.65 calibre same zs as gun used in James bond movies he originally used a baby Barretta Italian pistol but switched to walther in one of movies while the gun ain't a firing weapon still cool many a soldier stole lugers and other pistols but was told when returning to uk to dump them in Thames over board 👍🐾🦊
That gun would be a treat to keep, a bit of history right there.
Cheers Patty!👍🏻🐾🧡
Your "6d" ?button - key from pre-decimal cash register
WoW thats a Nazi Walther PPK..cool find...the bore of that gun would be done for from the visible corrosion on the outside...but it will have a serial number..but there are a few fakes of that model....but who knows
Cheers dude👍🏻🐾🧡
Hi Si, the button like object Cuffs found might be a key from an old fashioned cash register for ringing up 30 shillings and 6pence.
Thanks Helen. Someone else said it’s the lid from a cylinder savings tube
Bloody love this show on a Sunday ❤ better than antiques roadshow

Always amazing stuff with Si. Love the adventures!
Cheers Mudlover! See u on the next one👍🏻🐾🧡
I got interested in WW2 because of my Dad who served. I would like to hear how the gun made its journey to Thames. So many great finds.
Cheers Debbie! 👍🏻🐾🧡
It is a replica
Hi Si the German hand gun can be kept if A it can't be ballistically tested or B the ammunition for it is obsolete 👍
Utter BS. It's not a firearm .
@@snowflakemelter1172 actually it isn't bs I do a lot of magnet fishing and found a few hand guns all real some have been handed in because of their age others I've kept because of the above statement I made and that was from the police officers from around the uk who have confirmed it if that gun is fake or a toy what does it matter a gun's a gun and can be kept
Cheers Tel👍🏻🧡🐾
Thanks for another great video Si, lots of finds and great upcycle!
Cheers Debbie👍🏻🐾🧡
Stayed in Depford Bridge my last visit 2 weeks ago, and saw empty creeks from the DLR. I wondered if anyone was crazy enough to gloop around in those type shores. Answer given . 🙂
I would my gt gt gt grandparents lived on border of Deptford and Greenwich.
You can get down there but haven’t done so myself yet
Hi Simon! Big excitement! I'd have been scared to death with that find, too - I know less than zero about guns except the very basics of safety. And, silly as it is, I think the swastika just made it that much more sinister. It will be interesting to learn if you're able to keep it.
Lots of pretty things found and the two brooches cleaned up beautifully! The missing stones were perfectly placed for adding stones that were different from the originals and the sapphire and garnet made a nice contrast.
I didn't read through the comments aside from the first one (and that was quite enough) so perhaps someone else has mentioned this. I think the round rosette you found is a drapery holdback and the flower is a Tudor rose. So pretty!
Have a lovely week! Hi to Nelly and Daisy.
Cheers Lucinda. Yes good suggestions thanks 👍🏻🐾🧡
See if you can soak the walther ppk in some release oil. The trigger guard pulls down from the front allowing the slide to be released.
Cheers Andy
The button with 6d on it looked like the top from a lever on an old till.
I thought that but it’s the top to a savings tube. 30 sixpences would fill it up 👍🏻🐾🧡
Great finds! What I love the most in your videos is that you do some HISTORY of the items you find! I want to thank you for that!
THANX!!!
Cheers Mudlover!👍🏻🐾🧡
Great video as usual. Can't to hear about the gun. As with you I am torn between the relic that it represents and the relic that it is. History is not meant to be pretty but it is what it is. Looking forward to what you find out!
Well said. Cheers Thelka👍🏻🐾🧡
i wonder if the 6d button thing is actually a tab from a pre decimal till from a shop!?
I thought that but it’s the top to a savings tube. 30 sixpences would fill it up 👍🏻🐾🧡
There were some incredible military finds there! Like the Nazi pistol! It’s historic, but it is a gun…..could have been stolen from someone, but it was wrapped up in so much plastic! Maybe first to the museum? But what if it was stolen then used to unalive someone??? 🤔🤔🤔 do what you think is best. I only vaguely know the laws in the UK. Some I wish they would adopt here as far as weapons go. Take care Si and Cuffs!!
Cheers Cath👍🏻🐾🧡
Yes @Nicky different wording for killing someone.
It's a TOY! Probably made in the 60s 😂😂
Great finds this week. That
Metal circular floral disc is a type of decorative curtain tie back. Looks Victorian although they are still made in similar styles now.
Cheers Mudlover 👍🏻🐾🧡
Awesome find! 👌soak that gun in oil and try to get it moving
Cheers Dirk👍🏻🧡🐾
@@Sifindsyou do know what that spoon was used for .
Even if it was a real gun, if they don't know about it they can't charge you for it 🤣
To be honest though our gun laws are pretty messed up, you can buy certain guns from the early 1900s and late 1800s without a license that are perfectly functional, if you have a shotgun certificate you can buy a shotgun that holds 2 shells and one in the chamber [2+1] if you have a firearm certificate you can own shotguns that hold more shells, rifles of literally any caliber [even .50 cal rifles] but you can't legally own a handgun unless its got some stupid modifications such as a really long barrel and/or a stock to make the gun a certain length.
Also straws are technically illegal in the UK because you can fire a projectile by blowing into them [a blowpipe/blowgun by definition]
Straws 😂
@@Sifinds Silly isn't it, I only found that out when I was trying to work out if blowpipes were legal or not the definition is "a hollow tube out of which hard pellets or darts are shot by the use of breath"
Well you could make darts from needles or pins that would fit in a straw (hollow tube) and shoot them using breath meaning that straws are "blowpipes" by definition.
🤣
I'm glad to see you're making the attempt at holding onto the handgun. Being on the wrong side of the pond I always find it a bit amusing at the reactions all the mudlarks seem to have in England when finding spent or unfired rounds. Hand grenade, yea, I'd call the coppers, old beat up firearm that may not have a serial number or isn't even readable, not so much. One of my favorite youtubbers here in America is a guy called Aquachigger, even I find it a bit much to drill into a live artillery rounds to defuse them, but hey, what ever gives you a good bang for your buck.
Agreed. Brit: 'Oh, blimey, we have to get this to the police!' American: "Cool - finder's keepers!"
We Americans are way, way too cavalier about weapons.
amusing that they'd rather not inadvertently possess something illegal?
@@JonFrumTheFirst if the cops find you with an unlicensed firearm over here, you're looking at 10 years in prison.
@@paula3124 Nice to know there's no other crime in the UK for them to deal with.
Imagine if the plastic bag had contained a.............dog turd? 😂😂
A dog turd formed like a nazi gun

If that’s a Walter ppl it British gun, great job guys, love the show keep it up lads AkA Night owl from Luton 💯👍
Thank you so very much for heeding the advice to not point the gun at anyone and to not touch the trigger. I would never want any harm to come to you or your cohorts. Happy days Si!
Cheers Rose. I got a bollocking on here the last time I found a gun
@@Sifinds we just want you to be safe and healthy. If you don’t live around weapons you wouldn’t know.
Walther PPK?
That shot with Sean in the intro gets me every time. That was such a cool find.
Electrical tape, the bandage of champions

That's a Walther!
The button and jewelry finds are fantastic. And even if the gun isn’t authentic, it’s still a cool find!

Holy smokes. Great FINDS. I was shaking too when you found the gun. It is history. Wow. I simply adore your upcycles

I love all your finds. It’s really neat to see you out with your friends. We get to see double the finds that way
Cheers Lori! Very true!👍🏻🐾🧡
Was there any follow up video on the nazis gun.. That was such an amazing yet very unusual find. Although the way it was wrapped would suggest it may have been used in an unsolved crime but the history before its possible misuse is very intriguing. That definitely needs to find its way to a historical museum.
well done Si u found a gold blue peter badge 😂 get in to places for free now
Haha! Yes
The 6D is upside down and belongs to Harry Potter. Someone stole the3/4🤣
Haha. Very good
Didn’t you find a little blue bead just like that one in your last video? I’m pretty sure you did. Wonder what they come from that makes them so common like that? Any ideas?
I'm sorry to say, but I don't believe the pistol is authentic. I does look like a Walther but it doesn't look right. The metal looks more like some kind of zinc? The grips don't seem right. Is there a serial number? Are there any stamped markings? I'm no expert so I very well could be wrong. Love the mud larking and please keep it up!! Good luck!!
Cheers Tray!
A German gun! I did NAZI that coming.... Looks like a Walther PPK - later made famous by James Bond. I have the east german copy. called a Makarov
Lol. Cheers Rob
It’s amazing what you can find in the most yucky places!!
Crazy find man ! Congratulation
I hope your tetanus shots are up to date! Take care of yourself Si!

toy gun from 70's early 80's before everyone got woke and became snowflakes. immediately tell by the colour of the thing, zinc alloy or pot metal not steel.
Sent you an email re: the Identification of the gun.
Belive it is a Walther PPK.
Ah thanks. Have t seen it yet
And Si's fingerprints all over it now. Prob no biggie but it was double bagged. Be concerned.
Muddy prints 🐾
I would love to have that old pistol for a show piece you know to hang on the wall.and a conversation piece. It is beautiful in my eyes as I am a collector of nazi memorbelia. It’s very good looking as far as I can tell it lists in non working condition for as much 5000 dollars five thousand dollars .wow. Crazy isn’t it.
Good on ya to whoever threw it away. I'd like to imagine that someone found it in Grandpa's attic and was so disgusted by Nazi memorabilia that he or she chucked straight into the Thames instead of selling it to some right-wing collector.
Knowing european cops you'll prob get arrested and fined for not having a "loisense" for a illegal replica kids toy gun LOL which is why you never turn anything like that in, just get you into unnecessary shit.
ok some safety tips because I know that this will sound crazy but listen to all nazi gun owners if I was u I'd get rid of that thing because items without a case even that o a weapon that killed millions or more of innocent people and brave soldiers who gave there life's for our future like those things belong in a museum or kept in police cells because of the crime of back ground screw legal rights it should be not legal to own any war crime artifacts just because there's no telling who or why it was buried under mud in a bag for so long maybe a high ranking nazi soldier wanted to barrie it so they could stay hidden or move on abd began new life there's so many reasons why someone would barrie gun 🔫 I still think yall who aren't museum owners should dispose of any nazi artifacts as God knows their might be a evil cuse on said artifacts Evil stays or hikes in objects and in time may or not cuase nightmares or weird things happening after awhile of owning a evil artifact regardless of if u think owning it is kool as a spiritual Believer in Jesus but struggling with sins I strongly recommend that you A move it somewhere far away from your house as possible because there's no telling what evils been done with original owner of said nazi artifact it's better to own museums so what ever curse is attached or original owner who died Is not wanting to move on from there objects or artifacts they used to own in the flesh im not trying to scare anyone then wake yall up the nazis were monsters I'd gave it to cops just for safety reasons you never know just like tge devils rocking chair or Anabel doll evil sticks its self to any object close to it its like say I found a artifact but after yrs gone by or days I start having trouble sleeping or feel something crawling on me when I don't see anything the trouble with owner artifacts is someone who really loves toys or a vase or anything may or not have a demonic spirit attached to objects u buy from yard sales antique shops or by finding some weapon from dark times and say kool I'm shaking 🤯😁😄 but without knowing it poof 💀☠️ like poison or which craft or satanic rituals everything in life may or may not be your end just a heads up for yall war crime artifact owners who don't own a museum or different houses much love God bless💯✝️🕊💙💜🫂✌️
I knew immediately it was a Walter PPK but not that it was a replica. Either way I assume it was stolen and/or hidden.
That a walther reproduction gun its incapable of firing I have one just like it its original look s exactly the same but the German symbol in plated gold with oak handles. But still awesome find congrats
fantastic treasure germany old Walther ppk, restore it then can make this big money. very expensive real old germany gun. i want one but not can buy, too expensive many many thousand dollar cost.

Maybe the walther ppk gun lost during filming a james bond movie never know
My husband inherited a lighter just like that from his great grandfather in France. Great lark, awesome finds!
Wow!!!
There were many injured soldiers who were employed after both wars, producing these type of items. Known as convalescent art. A lot gets confused with trench art, especially the big engraved cartridges.
Adults destroying potential crime evidence by handing. Priceless.
Guys younger to invest in small brushes or toothbrushes and a couple of squirter bottles, and rags to do quick cleanings for the videos while you are out in the field
Guys you really need to invest in some proper small brushes and squirt bottles to clean your finds in the field plus some disposable rags, would save a lot of time,I never leave home without them
