Are you still liking this awning? Looks good and on sale again. I have a cvt my hood tent (similar to yours?) and a kb rack. Looks like brackets would work, or use the tent mount rails but guessing the aluminum is not the best answer, as you said. Any help appreciated

Still loving this awning!! I have recently upgraded my awning brackets and have made it a lot more secure.

An awning that large, with support beams so thick, you'd think it would support the weight of a grown man standing on it...almost like a patio for the popup tent. Hmmm wonder what lightweight yet collapsible material we could use stop the awning to make it a structural platform...

      I’m interested haha

@@EaglesOverlanding Im working on it. What I've come up with thus far is a complex array of smaller supporting arms at it were, which slid into place as the awning rotates out, then rotate on their own axis, 90/ -90 degrees from their relative positions, interlocking under said fabric. Creating a webbing under the fabric. I don't see it strong enough to support my weight, but . I'm working on it.

Is there a way to make the roof butt up to the back of the roof rack?
Or does it just not quite reach?

How sturdy is the point where all of the braces come together? Any plastic parts to break?

    • @EaglesOverlanding

It’s pretty solid when pulled tightly. Where it all comes together is made out of steel

Do you find it to be truly free standing? Any use in windy situations yet?

It is truly free standing. Have not experienced windy situations yet, but when secured properly it seems to be very durable.

@EaglesOverlanding thank you kindly. Great video! I appreciate the input of the video. I purchased one and wish you had a code to utilize to maybe help with kickback for you. If it wasn't for you and the gxor fb forum I would have never heard of it.

Seems that other manufacturers are just rebranding the awning; tuff stuff, ironman and I think one more but fail to remember.

@@keonihavea definitely did not expect this video to do so well on this particular awning. I just saw no video on this specific one and wanted to make one for people to get ideas. Thanks for watching and happy to help!
