This is the best looking build I have seen. I saw the initial Piranha(with 8mm lead screw) on openbuilds and built my design off of it. I have been following along since. I already have 1605 ballscrews and blocks. I think I'm going to re-work what I have to be like this new design.
I'm confused because the specs on the website suggest that the Z-axis C beam is 500mm, with a 350mm screw and 250mm rails, but the screw in this video is clearly longer than the C beam. Can you explain?
Hi Khye The C-Beam rail used is 335mm long and we use 260mm rails. However, 250 can also work. You only loose 10mm travel. Reason for the list saying 500mm is that we pick parts for the machine from standard parts.

Happy to hear that you have been inspired. No doubt that upgrading to ball screw is a major improvement in stiffness and precision. Good luck
I'm interested that you don't pre-tension the ball screw on assembly, why did you do decide on that design idea?

@@martinbarfoed5040 Thank you. I ordered the endplates and feel you have nailed this build.
