as I'm watching you I just wanna say "Noooooooo! Let me do it!" I just think you're taking too long passing it down your hair! Also I think you should Tap the roots a couple times before you pass it a full time. Also a heat protectant spray or iron spray is very helpful
+Gina Jones I can relate to her because I feel like my hair texture is about the same as her, thick and long. when it comes to doing my hair it doesn't come out the way I want it to be, straight like I got it done from the salon. Seeing her last video when she fail to get her hair straight, I just felt like she and I float on the same boat. As I see this video, it help me a whole lot on what I should do for mine. I could never understand how come a lot of people get there hair to be super straight and mine look like the humidity took over my hair and the worst part about it is that a lot of people do there hair and not actually explaining step by step what you need and how you do it in order to get the best result. The only thing I get out of it is what products they use when washing hair and what supplies they use when they start the process of the hair, but they not really giving me or others full details, it's just general details which doesn't help
Teen Natural Home Page please note that "coarse" refers to strand thickness, ie. Fine, medium, thick strands, and not density which is the number of hairs on your head, ie. Low, medium, thick. Texture is defined as wiry, thready, silky, cottony, or spongy, and people with wiry textures often call themselves coarse for whatever reason. Type is the letter/number ie 3c, 4b, etc.
THANK YOU! I'm a cosmetologist, and that girls comment irked me! Hahaha "if you were smart you would do your research" Oh no, honey...you need to do your research! 😂 density=how much hair is on your head & texture=course, straight, wavy, wiry, fluffy, etc.
BklynBabe people don't believe me when i say i have thick wavy thin hair. thin by the texture but thick because i have a lot ! i guess i should start staying fine wavy thick hair XD ?
SingDea interesting ! i agree with that, my hair texture is fine but i have a lot of them. thanks for the proper term : i do have fine wavy dense hair :)
I like it. You have some beautiful hair girl. To get your hair bone straight you may have to start off with a roller set then straighten it. Sometimes that method works when just simply straighten it doesn't.
I recommend using smaller section. Also take your time don't rush with the flat iron. If you do one good pass you won't have to worry about the 2nd 3rd pass. Using fine tooth combd or a brush while flat ironing those ends with help as well. Any who your hair is gorgeous just some tips that work for me.
You have such beautiful hair! &Next time try holding the flat iron on your hair a little longer, or go over the same section more than once...Your not fully straightening some parts for example @8:55, you can still see your curls throughout your hair and even your roots which is why it may not appear bone straight ...Hope this helped:)
Question:? I can't get my natural hair straight for nothing. Do you think maybe its because I never blow dry before flat ironing? I usally flat iron after air dried braided into two ponytail hair😑 lmk...thanks!
She probably realized that but she said she doesn't wanna damage her. And maybe she likes the way her hair looks when her roots are still curly. You never know
%100 better than the last time but if you really want to maximize the flow or movement of your hair you're going to want to trim your ends. That will definitely make the hair more moveable. Hope this helps!!!!
Girl your hair has great potential for an even better straightened look. Keep practicing and be patient! Don't rush cause then it won't come out right. And forget that hideous comb when doing the chasing method; use a a flat brush instead. It's easier and it gives you even straighter hair. One more thing; when you start at the root, pass the flat iron two or three times on that spot before going down to the rest of that section. Please try this again. I'm curious to see if you can actually perfect this and you'll feel really proud of yourself once you do, trust me!
I used to have hair like this before I relaxed it, but I could get it bone straight before when my hair was like this. What you need to do is get a comb part for the blowdryer, like the ones that fit on to the nozzle (not sure if this makes sense haha), then you take small sections and blow dry it with that comb attachment piece, after its blow dried it should look like how your final straightened look looked in this video, after that, take small sections of hair and run the straightener through it with a rat tail comb leading the way to get it as smooth as possible! It should be bone straight then :)
When blow drying put the hair in four section, using the comb attachment on the blow dryer will make you hair straight enough that u wouldn't have to make that many passes through the hair when flat iron. Also when flat iron pass through the root twice or how many you like to get rid of the wave at the roots, take a small teeth comb and do the chase method through the hair. And when using the flat iron towards the end bend your wrist to make a bend at the end so it'll have a finish look.
Some tips 1. Make sure you use an oil based heat protectant 2. Make sure that you blow dry little parts of your hair with an open teeth brush that has lots of wholes the the heat can escape 3. Flat iron in very small sections for best results Yes I understand ain't nobody got time for it but just try it out on one piece of hair and see if it work out I do this to my hair and I love the result yes I will be doing it for like 3 hrs but it's so worth it I love having curly hair but sometimes you just wanna cheat a straighten your hair. Just wanted to help you out, your hair still looks great but I know how bad you want this curls to just be gone when your hair is straight.
Maryam Hampton I've done many peoples hair and if you really want a flat iron that works I'd say to buy the BabyBliss Titanium Flat Iron. It works perfectly on any hair. And for product use is just simply buying what you want. The flat iron does a perfect job on its own, any heat protectant would work. I have very curly hair and I bought this three years ago and it still is doing a perfect job.
First I want to give you a little background so you can trust what I'm saying. I'm not a professional cosmetologist, BUT I am biracial with very curly hair and I had to learn how to straighten my hair on my own as well. At first it came out just like yours and I was so frustrated. Now that I've had years of practice my hair gets bone straight/flowy & is still healthy. It always reverts back when washed since I only do it during the winter months. I'm not going to go through all the comments to see if someone already said this, so bare with me if I repeat something lol. One reason your hair probably isn't getting bone straight is because your hair isn't "heat trained". This means it's not used to it yet since you don't straighten it often. This may sound kinda weird, but it's true. My hair was the same way after months of wearing it strictly curly. Some helpful tips/info: 1. You can use a brush or comb (for ex. Rat tail comb/Denman brush) when doing the chase method. The whole purpose is to smooth the hair/apply tension while straightening so you don't have to go over it numerous times. 2. Go way slower and pass over your roots at least 2x. (I understand you don't want heat damage, but since you barely straighten & use heat protectant your hair will be perfectly fine). 3. Section your hair into smaller sections, it'll take longer but with the combination of using the chase method and slowly passing the iron the results will be worth it. 4. Successful results all depend on how straight your roots are and how smooth your ends are. The chase method should be smoothing your ends. Sorry for the long ass essay, but I figured I'd give you some advice since I was in your shoes once.
I recommend the CHI straightener and SMALLER sections. Yes it'll take longer but you'll get better results. I have curly poofy hair and this method works for me. CHI isn't that cheap but you've already spent money on other straightners so investing in ONE will be worth it. I've had mine FOR YEARS and it's never done me wrong. Good luck! :)
It turned out well!!! If you ever want to get it straighter with the same amount of heat I would use a boar bristle brush. I feel like it uses more tension on you hair without holding down tight on your flat iron 😊
We have a super similar hair texture (and heyyyyy mid-west girrrlllllll) and now that I am natural and working daily to keep my texture as healthy as possible, I really like roller setting then flat ironing. I usually use large flexirods because I can wrap my hair the tightest that way, once my hair is completely dry I run over it with a flat iron. I also find that when I'm in need of a trim this is the best for my ends. If you ever try again please try that method! Looks great!
Glad this worked out better for you! It looks awesome! :) Holding the iron so it's tighter definitely helps, learned that many years into straightening my hair lol. If you decide to do this again and want it "bone straight" I would suggest you also pass the flat iron slower through each section. I find that it makes my hair (which is very curly) straighter and will help you avoid needing to do multiple passes, which can damage your hair. Also you mentioned concern over the style not lasting because of humidity and such. I recommend something to "seal" the hair and "lock" in the style. Some heat protectants sprays can be sprayed again after straightening to do this. I think Garnier and Organix/OGX had ones that did this. Personally, I find that it makes my hair frizzy when I do that so I opt for a little bit of hair serum instead. I used to use Biosilk's Silk Therapy serum which is great but it became too pricey for a small bottle so now I use Organix's Brazilian Keratin Therapy anti-breakage serum. This stuff is awesome and sometimes I put it on my wet hair and use it as a detangler. Just be careful that you don't use too much as I find that it makes my hair greasy if I do. I have a lot of hair and it's very long so I use about a dime-sized amount, just enough to coat my palms, and run it through my hair making sure to coat the ends. Anyway sorry for the long comment but I hope this helps! Good luck! :)
Maryam Hampton what part of Chicago are you from? I am from Chicago born and raised and you don't sound like your from Chicago to me lol. I know we do say, "car" & "hair" different from anybody else lol. Love ya hair! Anyway, carry on! 🌻
Perfectly str8 or not, you have beautiful hair! I can't wait for my hair to get long and smooth like yours. Keep up the wonderful work, girlfriend.🙌🏾💖💞💯
You did a good job! Might I suggest investing in a round brush to help smooth the roots a little better when blowdrying before hand. If you have a nozzle for the blowdryer, use it. That will concentrate the heat more, That way it will be smoother when you are done. Also, don't touch your hair so much lol. Invest in a carbon comb. It is heat resistant so it won't melt (those are my favorite combs lol). Your hair is gorgeous btw!
Hi. I have the same kinda hair as you and if you wash blow dry and straighten it always comes out better. Also if you take little pieces and get the roots really good and go over it a few times with the brush before the flat iron it will make it smoother and way straighter
Looks pretty good. Flat Ironing your own hair is tedious to say the least. I think, like me, you start off good but then get tired and your sections and technique become inconsistent. I have a similar texture and density, AND live in FL, "humidity central!" For humidity I also use a little Shea butter and coconut oil. I don't know why it works but it works for my hair and it lasts longer. I preferred letting someone else flat iron my hair because they can put the tension and leverage needed to blow dry and flat iron from the root.
I agree with the comments about your roots. You remind me of when I was younger trying to do my hair. You have to get the roots & go over it more if you want it really straight.
i used to struggle too when i started flat ironing my hair. it helps if you start at the root and slowly work your way down. when you start reaching towards the tips, start curving the iron a little tiny bit, and what that does it that it helps your tips look straighter and not stick out so much. but with more practice youll get the hang of it.
I love love love the way your hair comes out. If you want bone straight hair, I'll recommend some products and hair care tips. First and foremost, use some heat protectant. Ones with Karatin in them are better. Olive oil makes heat protectants and frizz ease oils that should be used on your wet (or damp hair). Also, some anti humidity serums and silkening agents (like that product from tressemé) should keep it from poofing up again. After letting it air dry a little, blow it out (while damp) piece by piece, on a warm setting. Then go over it again on high heat, then on cool setting. When you get to flat ironing it, it should be pretty straight already. Apply another layer of heat protection, but NOT the oils. It will burn your hair. You should find a cream or spray to use. Then straighenten it piece by piece.
I think you did really well for your second try. Practice makes perfect. I can usually keep my hair straight for a week by doing a wrap on my hair at night before going to bed.
Hey boo! I also have thick hair and what works for me is when I wash, put heat protectant on, blow dry with comb (or brush), then flat iron using the chase method. The less product and oils the better! Your hair does look fab as is though ;)
Your hair is so much like mine. I have the same problem with the humidity where it will frizz my hair back up. In the summer I put a mild relaxer in my hair that resolves the problem. So when I straighten my hair it stays this way.
Are you afraid of heat damage? It could be so much straighter if you hit the roots a couple times before going straight through. You'll get the hang of it if you're a beginner. Good luck girl!
Your hair is very pretty and I seem to get results like this when I first started straightening my natural hair. Then I watched others and followed a channel where you washed and condition like normal & then do a deep conditioner. Rinse well is the key. And flat iron very small sections (silk wrap method) putting no oils or serum only heat protected on wet hair. Then flat iron long hair like your would benefit More with a wider flat iron. But then go slow.....and a higher setting for thick hair especially slower on the roots and ends for great results. :)
I really liked the results better than the last time and when flat ironing your hair you don't want to over brush and comb through because that cause frizz and another thing if you want to keep your hair straight wrap your hair up input a silk scarf or bonnet on to keep it from freezing up in the morning you have really beautiful hair.
in a tube oil sheen & putting the flat iron on the hottest temperature I think would get the hair supper straight! but your getting better so that's all that matters
What's the use of "super straight" hair if it becomes damaged by putting it on its highest temperature. Maryam, I think you did an amazing job flat ironing your hair! In the long run, you won't have heat damage like those who put it to the highest level.
Lala Marie did I say use it everyday? using heat period is bad for your hair I was just saying that because She would like to see her hair bone straight. it's something She could try out just one time I'M pretty sure her hair don't fall off from trying it one time in her life.
I Wouls love to straighten your hair , I got the same Curley hair as you, and my opinion is , that you gotta start closer to the roots and go over the hair strands more often , and really make sure that your hair is dry before straightening it ... ☺️☺️
M.H., you're truly blessed in the hair follicle department. As there's a plethora of tresses, for you to experiment trying different hairstyles with. Try getting a regular haircare maintenance, routine and invest in [none metal] large seamless hair bands, for sectioning off your hair when (tension) blow drying and flat ironing. With high density hair, like yours - 8 sections would be ideal.. Also, as well as using 'commercial' heat protectants, try using oils with 'High Smoke Points' - i.e., Refined Avocado Oil - available on Amazon, Grapeseed Oil or Asian Mustard Seed Oil - available in local Asian grocery stores. And finally, try using the Naissance Organic Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Olive Oil, also available on Amazon. This works wonders in taming frizz, on extra voluminous natural hair. It also adds good moisture and sun sheen. Essentially though, Organic EVOL is renowned for protecting hair from the elements, in most weather conditions - particularly, in the summer time...
one good tip on straightening hair is take a comb or brush (comb works better) and takeit from the roots and come down till you can fit the iron behind the comb and go from root to tip with the straightener
love it. my hair is exactly like yours. i never reallly straighten my hair, when i do its never pin straight. which i prefer cuz i like volume. but yess, blowdrying first helps a bit. glad you tried it again !!
You should look up how to do a silk press and make a video of that I think it would help with your hair a lot because from the looks of it you still seems puffy and it can't maintain just you flat ironing it.
Also try sectioning it like this: Start at the back of your head with a small section straight across the bottom right under your ear. Then do another layer above your ear all the way across. After that I like to part my hair and do the sides putting the top section up. Then finally I do the top section either starting from the back or starting from the front and letting my hair hang in my face
Next time mix honey in your conditioner and let it sit. Plus take smaller section and take your time. A comb attachment for the dryer will get your hair straighter. People don't realize the straightness comes from blowing it dry now tell flat iron. You want to get it really straight with the dryer. Then you'll need less he's from the flat iron. And The honey is a great conditioner and it helps to make the hair softer slickers straighter and it last longer. But your hair is beautiful.
I would suggest using a thick bristle hair brush as a guide when you straighten it. I feel that for me at least, it separates the strands better rather than using a comb. Your hair is B E A U T I F U L though!
When you straighten your hair, you want to try to get as close to your scalp as you can get without burning yourself. I noticed in your first video that the closer to your scalp didn't come out very straight. Another thing. When you straighten each strand, you want to brush it out directly after you remove the heat from it. Brushing it causes the hair to cool off and doesn't allow it to reshape into the original curly that you have.
I do blow dry flat irons on natural hair at my cosmetology school all the time . i think you should still take smaller sections brush through your hair with a vent brush and you a blow dryer with a comb
After you wash your hair put it in tight bantu knots to get the roots straight after rubbing on some moisturizer and heat protectant... Then let it dry and then straighten it... It makes it really straight
Here's a few tips that help me get my hair really straight: 1.find a great heat resistant spray I use not your mother's beat the heat thermal shield spray. Not only does it work but it also smells amazing. 2. Try it on day old hair. When I straighten my hair i usually do it after I have worn it normally for a day or two. It works best if you don't use a lot of product in your hair. 3. Run a small comb or brush through your hair while straightening it. I know you did in the video but a smaller one would have worked better. 4. Make sure you put at least some oil in your hair before straightening it. It helps make it shiny and smooth but don't use too much or you'll end up looking like professor snape. 5. Blow cold air on it with a blow dryer to help seal it in. 6. Make sure your flat iron doesn't turn off in the middle of the process. 7. Along with making sure it's on make sure you are using the right heat setting. You don't want to fry all your hair off but you also don't want it to end frizzy. I hope these help and if all else fails just go natural
Use a smaller and more manageable comb next time..start from the root and hold the flat iron tight.. Looks so much better this time! Even using a clean bristle brush from the room -chasing after with it would do great too! GlamTwinz have loooong hair and its thick just likes yours. Im sure they have awesome tips you could learn from!
Use Kentucky Maid straightening comb (use kitchen stove) using a hair product to coat the hair (Dudley for pressing) Don't use too much. I think your hair will be much straighter.
You should try the chase method. Have the straightener follow the comb. It separates the strands better and allows the straightener to do it's job better
It works a lot better if you use a fine tooth rat tail comb and run it through your hair RIGHT in front of the flat iron. I noticed in your last video you did it behind it which is why it didn't work. When you use a fine tooth rat tail comb (or even a teasing brush), you're adding more tension for the flat iron to work with. I do this all the time to my and my client's hair and it gets it bone straight every time. Of course, this is after using a few heat protection products and a good blow out.
looks better. try rinsing out most of your conditioner if you didn't . it makes the hair more flowy when you do. it'll also come out more straight . the less product, the better.
You need to go over the roots twice, how high is your heat setting on the flat iron because it shouldn't look like a blow out at the end result unless the heat from your room sweating it out
Your hair really has the potential to get bone straight. I can tell by clipping your ends & going over the section at least twice could definitely help. Trust me lol
It took me a few times to get my hair right when I first started flat ironing ago. I would suggest getting a much better flat iron such as a sedu or babybliss pro. I think when I go to the salon she uses Paul Mitchell, not a 100 percent sure. Find you a good blow out cream or spray as well as a leave in heat protector. When I choose to go to the salon she uses Shuga leave in conditioner and then blow dries my hair with a roller brush. And then she uses wella oil before she flat irons. And sometimes if you want straight hair that isn't poofy you're going to have to turn the heat up lol. Especially since your hair is really thick, and also do smaller sections and take your time, I found listening to music makes the process a lot less annoying lol, at least for me it does. Also, I have had many trial and tribulations with products and flat irons. So far I use Chi straight hair line for my heat protection and I use macadamia oil when I'm finished and wrap my hair as soon as I'm done. I would also suggest go and watch glamtwinz RUclips they have a very good video as well.
Just a tip: for each pass over your hair, mainly the ends, try to do the chase method all the way to the ends. On the bright side your hair and you are a freakin beautiful.
Always press natural hair in small sections, especially if your hair is thick. Keep the flat iron on the roots for about 3 seconds then drag the flat iron down slowly.
so. sweetheart the key is definitely to blowdry your hair first. its best to wash it w a deep conditioner and cowash shampoo i have curly 3c. leave alot of deep conditioner in there since its curly then blow dry it with a comb attached you want it to be 90% straight so youre basically just passing that flat iron over it. hsi is a great brand so yea
question: most of you are saying to use the comb or brush method, but don't that take long to do and can you do it without the chase method? I see a lot of people don't use the comb or brush method and they still get the best results. Also I notice as I go to the salon they barely use any products expect heat protectant spray during flat ironing and oil after the hair is done, but do you need any pproducts when straightening hair?
Hey, to get it straighter I'd advice you wash your hair then blow dry it as straight as you can then flat iron in. It will work wonders, it will get your hair really straight, trust me
hey I think you did a great job and you have lovely hair I think you should try using the baic InStyler. (borrow a friend's) it never worked too well for me when I had natural hair(my hair never straightened much or lasted more than a few hours) with my relaxed hair the inStyler gets it much straighter than any other flat iron and it feels wonderful. spend more time on your roots because if your roots are puffy and the rest is straight your whole hair is going to look puffy
I have a Jose eber fastest flat iron and it makes my hair super straight and it lasts for days, my hair isn't super curly like yours but I do have thick hair! They are cheap on amazon too. Just a suggestion, I'm no expert lol!
I find that using a bristle brush or biar bristle brush gets my natural hair a lot straighter than using a small tooth comb doing the chase method. That's what the glamtwinz use and I been doing it every since. It grabs more hair and stretches the curl more for a straighter finish
you and i have almost the same hair, to straighten it you needa blow try it completely straight section by section with a conair round brush, thats the only way i can actually get it straight, then straighten it with a straightener section by section. hope that helps!
You should flat iron your roots better. Use a heat protector if your scared about damage. There are also other ways of straightening your hair without using heat that could work better for you.
Here's another tip ; when you plan on straightening your hair conditions the night before, when you straighten you dont want to use a lot of products that causes the hair to be weighed down and not so flawless, dont be afraid to take your time, part . not just grab be sure to part the section you are straightening to be able to get from ROOTS to end . and also you should try the ' chase ' method with a comb ;)
Love your video just one thing there are different hair strainers for types of hair I'm using this Remington one and it's for thick wavy-ish churlish hair and it actually works I only put it up to 20° and it is perfect on my hair I think it would work for you ☺️
as I'm watching you I just wanna say "Noooooooo! Let me do it!" I just think you're taking too long passing it down your hair! Also I think you should Tap the roots a couple times before you pass it a full time. Also a heat protectant spray or iron spray is very helpful
ikr!! I was just watching like "GIRL GIVE ME THE IRON I'LL DO IT FOR U"
+Laura Coarsey lol
+Gina Jones ikr I just want to say " JUST LET ME DO, CUZ U STILL AIN'T DOING IT RIGHT"
***** true but it's a way to apply heat without damage. Very thin line
As I see this video, it help me a whole lot on what I should do for mine. why do I feel like blue ivy is gonna look like this when she's older
cause her lips
I hope she looks like this! I think she is so adorable and her hair beautiful
you do not no how to hot comb or flat iron right.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 learn how to do it.
+Cheyenne Aris OMG U R right blue Ivy grown up- very pretty!
lol I think that's a compliment Cos I just left a comment saying how she looks like solange Beyonce sister
Exactly! A person can have hair that is fine, yet dense, which is usually the case with fine hair textures.
Sakuems You should say you fine, wavy, dense hair. Fine and thick both refer to single strands. Density refers to the number of strands on the head.
SingDea
interesting ! i agree with that, my hair texture is fine but i have a lot of them. thanks for the proper term : i do have fine wavy dense hair :)
Girl get them roots and still need a little more practice
Lol
+Kayla Jordan fr
yea💇
i agree
I'm literally screaming go back over it and get those roots😂😂😂
same !! 😂
ikr
Yeah all the time and I would add some coconut oil just before the ironing.
This came out so beautiful!! If you'd want to get it a little more bone straight, try using smaller parts :) it works for me
I like it. You have some beautiful hair girl. To get your hair bone straight you may have to start off with a roller set then straighten it. Sometimes that method works when just simply straighten it doesn't.
ItsKierasLife Or use a hot comb.
You never know
Exactly!
Girl your hair looks so beautiful from the last one OMG!!! U did sooooo GOOD‼️‼️
%100 better than the last time but if you really want to maximize the flow or movement of your hair you're going to want to trim your ends. That will definitely make the hair more moveable. Hope this helps!!!!
I love your hair, the thickness is gorgeous
Oh my god girl! I'm in LOVE with your curly hair 😍 it's amazing!
Haylee Hoani Thank you so much!!
I'm curious to see if you can actually perfect this and you'll feel really proud of yourself once you do, trust me!
i think it came out beautifully. big ups for not giving up. haha
Ugh your so gorgeous I can't even believe anyone is this pretty it's unreal (ur like a goddess dude)
Literally I'm screaming at my tab saying WORK IT BOO YESS GIRL!!! U did waay better the first time
Some tips
1. Make sure you use an oil based heat protectant
2. Make sure that you blow dry little parts of your hair with an open teeth brush that has lots of wholes the the heat can escape
3. Flat iron in very small sections for best results
Yes I understand ain't nobody got time for it but just try it out on one piece of hair and see if it work out I do this to my hair and I love the result yes I will be doing it for like 3 hrs but it's so worth it I love having curly hair but sometimes you just wanna cheat a straighten your hair.
Some helpful tips/info:
Your hair is gorgeous either way. I personally like the fact that it isn't bone straight.
HeyWarline Thanks girly!!!
Good luck! :)
Love your hair!!! It is so gorgeous and very healthy.
It looks so awesome. You have beautiful hair curly or straight 💜
+Breanna Wright You're sweet thank you!
+Maryam Hampton I love your hair!! n your so pretty!!:)
+Maryam Hampton oh and good improvement from your last video and this one
SympliMe Purple may the Lord be with you :)
Good luck! :)
This Chicago accent is giving me life lol. All my family is originally from Chicago. And you did a great job this time!
Donyale Walton lol u mean all ur family is originally from nigeria :P
^ girl.
Donyale Walton Lol I thought I was finally getting rid of my accent
Yass im from Chi-town.
+Lynn J Thank you!!
+Maryam Hampton What's the song in this video please. I love your hair
+Maryam Hampton cool 1st youtuber
Use the comb behind the straightener! It will help straighten it even more when your hair is still warm.
she did that in the other video and it didn't work so she's doing it this way.
+The Gabbie show's pikachu she used a brush first off.
Alexis Mitchell I'm trying lol!
I could just smell the heat damage from folk doing that :(
What's the use of "super straight" hair if it becomes damaged by putting it on its highest temperature.
It Looks Alot Better From The First Time. Very Gorgeous Hair, Try Smaller Sections And Continue With The Chase Method
I Wouls love to straighten your hair , I got the same Curley hair as you, and my opinion is , that you gotta start closer to the roots and go over the hair strands more often , and really make sure that your hair is dry before straightening it ... ☺️☺️
You should probably pass the roots and the sections few times while working in your comb for a sleek look. And spraying in some heat protectant too
M.H., you're truly blessed in the hair follicle department. As there's
a plethora of tresses, for you to experiment trying different hairstyles
with.
Try getting a regular haircare maintenance, routine and invest in [none metal] large seamless hair bands, for sectioning off your hair when (tension) blow drying and flat ironing.
With high density hair, like yours - 8 sections would be ideal..
Also, as well as using 'commercial' heat protectants, try using oils with
'High Smoke Points' - i.e., Refined Avocado Oil - available on Amazon, Grapeseed Oil or Asian Mustard Seed Oil - available in local
Asian grocery stores.
Your hair looks amazing natural too!!!
one good tip on straightening hair is take a comb or brush (comb works better) and takeit from the roots and come down till you can fit the iron behind the comb and go from root to tip with the straightener
love it. my hair is exactly like yours. i never reallly straighten my hair, when i do its never pin straight. which i prefer cuz i like volume. but yess, blowdrying first helps a bit. glad you tried it again !!
ladyA52 Yes! Me too! I don't think I would like pin straight on me
You should look up how to do a silk press and make a video of that I think it would help with your hair a lot because from the looks of it you still seems puffy and it can't maintain just you flat ironing it.
Omg!! I love it blow dried!!! Beautiful.please don't mind if I get my hair cut in layers like yours in the front.
Best flat iron is from hairstyle. I have tried so many and I will never buy another brand again! I Guarantee you will love it!
I think it turned out amazing! I love love your hair!!!
LilyBeauty Thanks girl!
an antihumidity will help or fantasia straightening serum will help. or Lozano straightening serum works wonders. just expensive.
Maryam Hampton if you dont brush your hair it will stay straighter...when you straighten it, it takes a while to cool down and set
Here's a few tips that help me get my hair really straight:
1.find a great heat resistant spray I use not your mother's beat the heat thermal shield spray.
I hope these help and if all else fails just go natural
you should try using that seran wrap technique the next time you decide to flat iron your hair. it will turn out great!
Use a smaller and more manageable comb next time..start from the root and hold the flat iron tight.. Looks so much better this time! Even using a clean bristle brush from the room -chasing after with it would do great too! GlamTwinz have loooong hair and its thick just likes yours. Im sure they have awesome tips you could learn from!
it is beautiful curly or straight ~ tho if u want a smoother look. try getting a keratin treatment, its actually good for ur hair too .
You need to go over the roots twice, how high is your heat setting on the flat iron because it shouldn't look like a blow out at the end result unless the heat from your room sweating it out
Girl you did great. Good Job. I'm glad you gave it another try.
MizzFabulous1000 Thank you! Next time hopefully it will be even better!
Your'e welcome. The more you do it the better it will get.
I love your hair!!!! Natural and straitened!
Your hair really has the potential to get bone straight. I can tell by clipping your ends & going over the section at least twice could definitely help. Trust me lol
when making parts make them horizontal not vertical that way you can get the roots better then do the chase method
Your hair is so gorgeous. With more practice you'll be able to achieve straight hair. It's taken me a few years to be able to tame mine.
The best thing you could use are the Laila Ali flat irons they make your hair sure shinny. But you are doing better than i was .
Beautiful hair, straight and curly!
ExcellentFancy Thank you!!
Your hair is very pretty. If you want it to lay flatter I'd suggest getting your roots a little more
question: most of you are saying to use the comb or brush method, but don't that take long to do and can you do it without the chase method? I see a lot of people don't use the comb or brush method and they still get the best results. Also I notice as I go to the salon they barely use any products expect heat protectant spray during flat ironing and oil after the hair is done, but do you need any pproducts when straightening hair?
Hey, to get it straighter I'd advice you wash your hair then blow dry it as straight as you can then flat iron in. It will work wonders, it will get your hair really straight, trust me
You have really beautiful hair. Nice video!
+Andrea Conley Thank you!!
your welcome
You have really pretty hair straight or not nice video + I subscribed
hey I think you did a great job and you have lovely hair I think you should try using the baic InStyler.
It grabs more hair and stretches the curl more for a straighter finish
ah i just found the second video your hair looks much better love it
you and i have almost the same hair, to straighten it you needa blow try it completely straight section by section with a conair round brush, thats the only way i can actually get it straight, then straighten it with a straightener section by section. hope that helps!
I don't comb or brush my hair at all before or after I'm gonna straighten it. I just use my fingers. Way less frizz. Might work for you.
I think you should get a blow dryer with a comb attachment. It will help you get your hair straighter 😊
It looks so much better Maryam!
SolelyVanessa Thank you!
You should flat iron your roots better. Use a heat protector if your scared about damage. There are also other ways of straightening your hair without using heat that could work better for you.
there you go you used all my tips and it was perfect
