When I heard you describe all the chocolate that was made there, I gained another stones weight. Sorry about the broken pot. Zephyr is the most well-behaved little girl I have ever watched. Never seems to drift away, always stays close to home. What love you have there. As always, I so enjoyed this. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your life.
I’m craving chocolate remembering this now!😂 Zephyr is a good girl and she is a delight to share my days with. Thank you for your lovely comment. Have a super week, take care🦋🌻
Trumpet pixie moss is a delightful name isn't it? I always remember my wonderful Patrons; I couldn't keep doing this without you all. Thank you so much🤗 Take care🌻🦋
My father left Belfast and working at Cadbury's was his first job! He tells the stories of all the Chocolate back then you could have! and how to keep in a Landlady's good books was to bring her some chocolates on a Friday! lovely to watch.
What a brilliant story, thank you so much for telling me. I bet your father had a great tome working at Cadbury's. Have a wonderful weekend, take care🌻🦋
Philanthropy in the grand style of Cadbury set the standard. Not anymore though, though the whole system is handled by the anonymous powers that be now and there are homgreat heroes who
"NUTS! Whole hazel nuts... Cadbury's take them and they cover them in chocolate!" ...That was the catchphrase in the 70's/ 80's advertising campaign for the 'Wholenut' bar. Nice to see that you're all safe & well after the freezing weather that we've had. Take care, all the best.
Vanessa you always make me feel happy and relaxed. You have a way of finding beauty even in the industrial areas. I loved how you found some interesting lichen growing on an old stone post and your footage of the beautiful Jay was exceptional. Your disaster with the broken pot on the freshly painted bench made me smile as that’s the sort of silly thing that I would do. It’s been a tough winter but you’ve managed to continually cruise throughout and you’ve taken us to some amazing places. Wonderful artwork as always, thank you Vanessa for my Friday evening entertainment. Take care and stay safe. X
Thank you so much, Shirley for such a lovely comment. I am so glad that you found the vlog relaxing. The Jay was so beautiful to watch and so in tune with the colour of Cadburys as well! I don’t know why I chose the only time when we are moored so you can only get on and off the boat from the front, to paint the front benches! 😄 Have a wonderful weekend 🌻🦋
It was like a little, magical wonderland in that recreation ground!🥰 Thank you so much for buying my calendar too. I am so pleased that you like it. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, take care🦋🌻
Always educating your Guests as you travil down the Byways and water ways. Now I would like to know more about your traveling garden abd what you are growing and and how do you protect it in winter 🥶 ! 😊❤
Absolutely delightful. Have ‘binged’ on the set and what a wonderfully presented, filmed and interesting ‘journey’ this is. Bravo, really is worthy of a top award and wider coverage.
Good evening Vanessa what a lovely vlog it brought back memories of my late 1st mother in law, she worked in Bournville hand decorating the chocolates by hand up until she got married. In those days only single women were allowed to work married ones had to stay at home to be the home maker, if she was a live today she would be in her110 plus year. Bournville was owned by quakers and only recently have they been allowed to sell alcohol. On the Mayday weekend they had a big carnival on the green with morris men and fun and games. When my mother in law was in her late 80s she was treated to a day at cadburys world, when they showed the crowd of on lookers how it was done in the old days , my M. I. L said excuse me dear but u are doing that all wrong and was invited to show them and she still was able to remember to decorate the chocolates with a piping bag. I hope that frozen ice hasn't done to much damage to the bitumen hull. Thanks for a enjoyable vlog take care and have a great family weekend 💐😊🍫⛩️
Oh Simon, I love this story about your late 1st M.I.L. It seems so unthinkable now that when women got married they weren't allowed to work anymore but how amazing that she remembered the skill of piping like that. It made me really laugh when she said that they were doing it all wrong!😂😂 I bet the carnival on the green is brilliant. Thank you so much for your super comment. Have a wonderful weekend, take care🦋🌻
Hallo Vanessa, very mystical, the noise of the narrowboat as an icebreaker. But beautiful. Even in the winter narrowboating seems to be nice. Again a peaceful weekend for you. Thank you for the fantastic video. Best wishes, Magnus
Those guillotine locks always look a bit scary to me! But mushroom painted mushroom vents are great fun! 🍄 Well done for getting through the ice ❄️ The jay looks beautiful Thank you again for the joy your vlogs bring even all the bumps with turning, painting & stuff it's so interesting & varied Have a good weekend - all that chocolate mmmm 😂
Thank you so much, Margaret for your lovely comment; I think that I will have to paint my mushrooms vents as mushrooms too, now. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the vlog. Have a wonderful weekend, take care🌻🦋
What beautiful architecture in Bournville. The story of how Cadbury tried to provide a full village for his employees reminded me of the similar attempts made by George Pullman with his Pullman Palace (train) Car Company and employee community on the south side of Chicago, Illinois in the US. I love learning about the history of the places you visit!
I didn't know that about George Pullman- but how lucky his employees must have been too! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Have a wonderful week🦋🌻
The sound of the ice breaking was amazing..That's a nice area but I must I'm loving the Ouse with all its wildlife and few locks. Have a lovely weekend mindful family.
Hi Will, I watched the vlog when you were at Ten Mile Bank last night and the photography of the sunset was amazing and then the morning frost with the swan- stunning! Thank you for watching. Safe and happy cruising.🦋🌻
Well, I am delighted to be your favourite and very honoured too!🤗 Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, take care🦋🌻
Oh my, what a delightful way to start my day here in Western Canada. Thank you, Vanessa! Every detail at its finest. Lovely to see your daughter could join you. Stay well. Stay safe. Eat lots of chocolate!
Thank you so much for your lovey comment and what a great piece of advice to 'eat lots of chocolate' I absolutely have to do that now! Have a wonderful weekend, take care🌻🦋
You can buy a ticket and go into the factory and around the museum there too, but as they didn't let dogs in, I gave that a miss. I definitely recommend going though. Thank you for watching. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, take care🦋🌻
@@themindfulnarrowboat thank you i have cracked bone in my knee and waiting for five joint injections so guess be ling time till i get out its all i need with my other health pribs but at 77 lots arecthe same n worse i no you tc luv yr vlogs keep me going annx
I've watched this truly wonderful episode twice now.. so magical. Even Zephyr was totally entranced ❤ so funny 😂 Tolkien story.. The beautiful gate.. your nightime visitors..💕👌 Slightly spooky moring.. just enough for me And it's Halloween tonight 🎃👻
Stunning footage of the beautiful Jays! & beautifully sketched too. Love your poem & all your sensitive filming & observation, as I always do. It seems like such a zen, tranquil meditative pace & life. Im craving bourneville choclate now! ( & a narrowboat or barge)I I havnt seen Cadburies Bournville since I was a teenager, (with the red wrappers), I forgot about it & assumed they had stopped making it. Too bitter for most I expect. Aniway, thankyou for sharing such beautiful, peaceful, inspiring content! Many blessings to you.
Thank you for such a lovely comment. Bournville isn't the easiest chocolate to get hold of but I think it is still sold in the big supermarkets. Have a wonderful week, take care🦋🌻
You literally find beauty wherever you go, even the shot of Zephyr squatting 😄 and you got so close to the Jay, don't think I've ever seen one it's just so pretty! That sun went to my head too this week and I've been out in the garden doing some hard graft, it's already coming back to life and so lovely to see along with the longer days. Have a great week lovely xxx
Hi Lizzie, thank you so much for your lovely comment- Zephyr certainly knows how to photobomb in style doesn't she?🤭 It must have been wonderful to get out into your beautiful garden. 🌞🤩There is a spring-cleaning magic in the air at the moment! 🪄 Have a super Sunday and wonderful week ahead, take care🌻🦋
How lovely to hear from Simon the Duck!🦆 I hope you are all well? Thank you so much for your lovely comment, Simon. It really means a lot to know that you enjoy watching.🤗🤗 Have a wonderful weekend and give my love to your beautiful family xxxx🦋🌻
I'm a new subscriber of just a couple of weeks. I love the content and always love the journal entry and the poems. I reside in Comfort and I am taking in as many past blogs as possible. England and it"s natural beauty I have never seen. Thank you.
Brilliant video the city where I grew up poor Alice grace has took a hammering through the ice .....fantastic footage of the secretive Jay a beautiful looking bird your photography is tops ...thank you
Just been sitting down with our granddaughter watching you videos. She loves them all. Then we showed her your calendar we have on our fridge. She loved looking at all your beautiful drawings
I am so touched that you sat down and watched the vlogs with your granddaughter. I am honoured that she likes my drawings. Tell her that I totally recommend keeping a nature journal. There a 3 questions that help me when I am on my walks and I have spotted something: 1. What do I notice? 2. What do I wonder ? And 3. What does it remind me of? This is the John Muir Laws approach to keeping a nature journal. He is on RUclips too. Thank you so much for such a lovely comment. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, take care🌻🦋
The sound of the ice is awful, but we need to get the boat blacked this year so at least it wasn't scraping off new paintwork. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Have a wonderful weekend.🦋🌻
I've so been looking forward to this. I new about the houses. That where build for workers. But I never new where the name for the dark chocolate that I quite like can from lol. I really enjoyed this vlog a little to the usual vlogs. But still absolutely fantastic. You always seen to bring something new into every vlog u do and you never disappoint. So looking forward to next Friday. Until then take care and have a lovely weekend
Love your company. You are great at adding the extra something to make it so much better. I have to go right back to the first episode so I can understand your perfect world. Many thanks, take a holiday so I have the time to catch up, but then, that's what it is, one lovely long holiday. Take care.
Hi Philip, thank you so much for your lovely comment. I like the idea of taking a holiday!👍😄 I am so pleased that you are enjoying the vlogs. Have a wonderful weekend 🌻🦋
How enjoyable to travel with you through the ice and the beautiful winter scenery. Your tour of Borneville was fascinating. I ceased buying Cadbury the day they were swallowed into an American conglomerate. Yet another instance of Britain withdrawing from having any presence in the world.
It is so lovely to know that you are feeling calm and chilled after the vlog. I hope your weekend is wonderful and full of relaxation. Take care, Lynne🌻🦋
Another beautiful video in gorgeous and historic locations! Thank you Vanessa. I really sighed when I saw all the tags, though, especially on the historic locks. I always think these sorts of concerns should be part of a child’s education, but in this world, there is no end to the many issues, and teachers have such heavy teaching loads, it’s unfair to put it on them. Anyway, I’ll aim to focus on the beauty, not on things I cannot control. I’m sorry for Alice Grace’s rough winter. You guys always care for her like she’s part of your family, I’m sure she’ll be back to her old self soon!
Hi Jan, I agree with you that it's all about educating the young people who feel disillusioned enough to damage things like that; parents, teachers, social services and local communities can all play their part. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Take care🌻🦋
Thank you for watching and for your lovely comment, Paul. The ice is not the best thing for the blacking, but we need to get it done this year anyway. Have a wonderful weekend, take care🦋🌻
Looks like you are doing all my favourite navigations and if you do the Severn and Avon well that’ll be the icing on the cake .Take heart you are not the only ones who’s blacking has taken a hammering .And Thanks for the images of the Jay👍
Well then Tony, it looks like you are going to have the icing on the cake as we are going to be visiting all of your favourite spots. 🧁Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Have a wonderful weekend.🦋🌻
Some of your oversea viewers may not know of Cadbury's. Nobody else in the World make's Chocolate like Cadbury and it's a shame people miss out on it. Sound like Mr Cadbury was a nice chap to his workstaff. Nice History Vanessa. Nicer Video.
Mr Cadbury does sound like he was a nice chap to work for doesn't he? Definitely nicer than Willy Wonka!🤣 Thank you for watching and for your lovely comment. Have a wonderful week.🦋🌻
Another sweet voyage on the Alice Grace Thanks for sharing all the info about the place where my favorite candy is made. With Easter just around the corner it made me think of the cream filled eggs. I liked the way you tried to describe the smell. Actually I looked it up the eggs over here comes from a factory in Hershey Pa. Mr. Cadbury sounded like such a nice guy to work for someone who actually cared about his employees I watched a couple of times and noticed the bird which you drew in your book at the end I don't think you said what sort of bird it was or did I miss it? Thanks again for bringing us all along see you next Friday Steve
Hi Steve, it’s interesting to know that Hershey makes the cream eggs. Chocolate definitely makes it feel like Easter doesn’t it? The bird is a Jay. It is from the Corvid family like the crows. Normally it is very shy but I am finding that the city birds seem bolder and braver around people. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Have a wonderful weekend 🌻🦋
Your shots of the jay were lovely. I knew it was a corvid but with beautiful plumage I thought it would have a more descriptive name….but jay will do! The iBird UK app serves me well here in Seattle, Washington USA
I agree with you that the Jay should have a more magnificent name; it is such a beautiful bird. Thank you for your lovely comment. Have a super rest of the week, take care🦋🌻
I really Injoyed that vlog and I love watching you all and zephyr as well she makes the vlog keep up the amazing work and keep warm All the best from Chris Take care x
Hi Vanessa. I bet the smell around Bornville was deliciously chocolatey. Good job sorting out those pots. I wondered if those self seeded onions are chives? Take care. Nick
Hi Nick, thank you for your lovely comment. It did smell good in Bournville! Ah, chives- now that could be likely as I grew them on the roof last year. Have a wonderful rest of the week, take care🦋🌻
Hi Vanessa this week as been so tough with my sister but she is on mend for now. Came home and watched your vlog it is so peaceful to just sit and get lost in your travels. Thank you for making such beautiful vlogs. Have great week. Stay safe😊
Oh Sandy, it sounds like such an awful ordeal that you are all going through and I really hope your sister mends quickly. My love and best wishes go to you all xxxx Take care🦋🌻
Well, unfortunately our internet was down for nearly a week but it's now working again. Nice to be back watching your vlogs again. As a chocoholic I especially loved this one. I'd love to live there and wake up to the smell of chocolate, mmm. Awesome start to the weekend. All take care and best wishes, Russell.
Hello Vanessa - greetings from a very cold and snowy Poland. A wonderful video - yet again, I've learnt some new things. I loved the visit to Cadburys. I bet the smell was gorgeous. What a kind and thoughtful employer he was. Mind you, there's no pub! Wonderful wildlife this week especially the kingfisher and the jay. Your poem was lovely. I was surprised about the ice. Will it damage the boat? See you again very soon. Stay safe please
Hi Michael, I hope that you are managing to keep warm? Do you think that it is colder than last year in Poland? I am so pleased that you enjoyed the video. Our boat needs to have its hull blacked this year anyway as you can see from the videos, she is looking very sorry for herself, but ice will scrape off the paintwork. Sending you some sunshine🌞 and I hope that you have a warm and wonderful weekend🌻🦋
The Jay is a spectacular bird isn't it and so shy normally, but this one was quite at ease with me watching and filming it from the other side of the road. Thank you so much for watching. Have a wonderful weekend.🌻🦋
Hello Jason, thank you so much for your lovely comment. I like your suggested title too!🤭 I hope the farming is going well- it must be a busy time of the year for you? Have a super Sunday and wonderful week ahead, look after yourself🌻🦋
I think I need to plant a 'Cadbury's Flake' tree in my garden in case of a chocolate emergency! I think your Barberry is actually a Mahonia. I have a lovely bush in my garden and it is one of the earliest flowering shrubs which provide nectar for the bees. The flowers have a heavenly smell like lily-of-the-valley. I've never seen a jay in all my life, but I did have two sparrowhawks in my garden the other day eyeing up my flock of sparrows. Grrrrrr! I need Zephyr to come and see them off!
I would like a Cadbury flake tree in my garden too. I will look up the Mahonia plant now that you have mentioned it. How amazing to have two sparrowhawks in your garden! They are incredible birds to see, unless you are a sparrow of course🫣 Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Have a wonderful weekend🌻🦋
The greenery in your pot looked like daffodils & crocuses coming up maybe. Did you notice the feathers on the Jay 's head sticking up when it stretched itself, never seen that before.
Hi Annie, thank you so much for your comment. I thought they were spring bulbs too, but I then used an app ID and it said they were 'common onions'. A couple of years ago, I think I shoved some old onion bulbs in there so it could be? I also noticed the Jay's puffy head feathers and I haven't seen that before, so I researched it and wrote a couple of reasons as to why it was doing that in my journal. If you freeze the page, you might be able to read it. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Have a super weekend🦋🌻
@@themindfulnarrowboat I'll have a go at freezing the page later as I'd like to know the answer! I guess you'll have a better idea once the greenery grows into something (or not!) but daffodil bulbs are extremely poisonous so be very sure before you consume, they presumably taste like onions as people have died after eating them by mistake. Have a great weekend on the canal. X 🏴
Nice image to paint on the out side off Alice. I meant 😊 Not sure what they call the artwork painted on the sides off Narrow Boats… On Lorries it’s a Decal above the Domicile painted on drivers door🤔
Well it is lovely having you back and watching again. Good question; narrowboats are tough and can break the ice if it's not too thick, but the blacking can get scraped off and if you pass a boat that's not made of steel, then you could damage their boat by shoving the ice in their direction. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for your comment.🦋🌻
@@themindfulnarrowboat Thanks for your lovely reply!! Love watching your channel, your words painting and drawings!! Love drawing and watercolour myself, You would love my tiny bothy up here in Northern Scotland 🏴.
Lovely video again Vanessa. Clearly India has found her true calling. All that chocolate, I wonder how many bars you liberated from the factory? Have a fun week and thankful Alice Grace won’t need to play the “ice breaker “ role.
I am so pleased that you enjoyed the video. Sadly, I can't eat any chocolate as it isn't vegan, but the smell is a great substitute and I have a vegan hot chocolate which I keep drinking lots of. I am hoping that's the end of the ice too...at least for a while. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Have a super Sunday and wonderful week ahead, take care🌻🦋
Poor Alice Grace. But what an inspiring story of a businessman who actually cared about the people that worked for him. I have to confess something though, and you will have to forgive this coarse Southern colonist from across the pond. As I am listening to you tell the story, I'm thinking "this man is interesting - I've never heard of George Cadbree"... until I saw the sign... "Oh! George Cad-berry!" Like the Cadbury bunny (google it if that's too American). 🤣😂😆 Anyway, thanks for another enjoyable trip.
Hi Brewster, it's my Essex accent that confused you I think. I drop letters off all over the place- it's terrible really!🤭 I know the Cadbury Bunny from the old ads on TV with her big, pink bow- if that's what you mean? Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I hope you are keeping well. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, take care🦋🌻🐰🍫
Hi there guys.this week I was so enthusiastically captivated.you always present your amazing narrowboat channel so charmingly .I’m so privileged to be able to watch such a fabulously entertaining wildlife vlog..which was so undeniably top notch educational viewing.this was for me.just a prefect escape from a crazy life in London.to an amazing winter’s dream on the lonely scenic canal.I could actually visualise myself crushing with the both of you into a wonderful world of totally enchanting wildlife beauty.you certainly are the bees knees of superb enlightening cruising adventures.what a brilliant touch of very intriguing history facts.showing us all around the bournville chocolate factory.it was so extremely interesting to see this great historical treasure in all its fantastic glory.could you let me know:the name of that colourful bird with a blue stripe on its side.that you so superbly captured on camera.you really cleared up your narrowboat beck and garden so perfectly.happy cruising
Hello, kind and lovely, Anthony🤗 Thank you so much for another sensational comment. I can't believe that I forgot to name the bird- I thought that I had, but you are so right- I hadn't. It is a Jay and is one of the Corvid family like the crows, rooks, ravens, jackdaws, magpies and choughs. It is a very shy bird normally, but I find the city birds are bolder around people which is why I was probably lucky enough to film it. They are responsible for a large amount of oak tree growth as they bury up to 5000 acorns in the autumn and some of them get forgotten and lost. They used to be persecuted for their gorgeous blue feather, but fortunately that doesn't happen anymore. Have a super Sunday and wonderful week ahead, take care🌻🦋
when you were in Bournville i really wanted some chocolate but cadbury choc is hard to get here in USA so i had to settle for Hersheys lol still kept the taste buds happy nice video as always
Hi Vanessa, please don't eat those plant shoots, I don't think that they are onions. Mmm would love to wake up to the smell of chocolate in the air. Thanks as always for taking me on your trip. =-) What was the little bird with the blue stripe on it's wing? So cute. =-)
Hi Lorraine, don't worry, I won't risk my identification of onions and eat them. I will watch them closely and see what they become. The bird was a jay and it is normally quite shy, but for some reason, it wasn't really bothered when it saw me filming from the other side of the road. When it puffed its head up like that though, I think it might have been warning me off by showing me how big and scary it can be! Beautiful birds though. Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Have a wonderful weekend.🦋🌻
Others have said that they think they are daffodils too. I might dig one up and see, but first, I'll wait a couple of weeks to see if they form a beautiful, yellow trumpet flower and then I will know for sure. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, take care🦋🌻
Ice-breaker boats are an excellent idea! Every year, the ice during the winter seems to be getting worse. Thank you so much for watching. Have a wonderful weekend🦋🌻
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. In the next few weeks, I’ll be starting my herb and vegetable garden on the roof of the boat. I did a vlog about it last year called “Off Grid Grub”Some things grew well and some things were not so good, so I’ll alter what I grow this year a bit. I will keep an eye on those onions/ daffodils before I eat anything😬👍 Have a wonderful rest of the weekend 🌻🦋
@@themindfulnarrowboat ooh I will watch that vlog Vanessa. I am planning what to grow in my small garden this year. I grow in pots and bags. I long to have an allotment or smallholding!😊
Do you think “Cadbury’s” got the idea for the flake from that tree, also made me laugh when you was showing us the beautiful recreation area and Zephyr could be see in the top corner of the shot doing his business.
Perhaps the idea of the flake did come from that tree. It definitely looked just like a flake didn’t it? I’ll have to go back and check the Zephyr bit. She had been to the toilet literally minutes before. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for watching, Steve 🌻🦋
I can only imagine how lovely it smelled at the Cadbury's Factory. Mr Cadbury seemed to be quite progressive unless it was a situation of controlling his workers? Too bad that Cadbury's belongs to the less progressive Nestlé's now. Love your wonderful adventures.
I think Mr Cadbury was of the mindset that if you look after your workers, they are happier and therefore do a better job- win-win! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Have a super rest of the week, take care🦋🌻

You have become our favorite narrow boater. Great story line and capturing nature.

You are more than welcome! 😊
🤗🤗 I hope you are having a great week, Nanci! Take care🌻🦋
Lovely vlog Vanessa. Your book of paintings and poetry is a great record of your amazing journey. I always enjoy watching these. Simon (the duck) 🙂👍

I'm a new subscriber of just a couple of weeks. I love the content and always love the journal entry and the poems.
I reside in Comfort and I am taking in as many past blogs as possible. England and it"s natural beauty I have never seen.
Thank you.

Brilliant video the city where I grew up poor Alice grace has took a hammering through the ice .....fantastic footage of the secretive Jay a beautiful looking bird your photography is tops ...thank you
Thank you so much, Matt😊 That is so kind of you! I am pleased that you enjoyed seeing a place that you must know well. Have a wonderful weekend🦋🌻
As usual….magnificent. Thanks much.
🤗Thank you so much! Have a wonderful rest of the weekend.🦋🌻

Lovely Jay. Hope the ice didn’t do any damage.
The sound of the ice is awful, but we need to get the boat blacked this year so at least it wasn't scraping off new paintwork. Thank you so much for watching and commenting. Have a wonderful weekend.🦋🌻
Such alovly content in every you tube 🎉❤❤❤

I've so been looking forward to this. I new about the houses. That where build for workers. But I never new where the name for the dark chocolate that I quite like can from lol. I really enjoyed this vlog a little to the usual vlogs. But still absolutely fantastic. You always seen to bring something new into every vlog u do and you never disappoint. Love your company. You are great at adding the extra something to make it so much better. I have to go right back to the first episode so I can understand your perfect world. Many thanks, take a holiday so I have the time to catch up, but then, that's what it is, one lovely long holiday. Take care.

Beautiful Vlog thank you x

That looks fun 'Bumper Boats'.
The ice and wind makes boating a bit like bumper cars doesn’t it? Thank you so much for watching. Have a wonderful weekend 🌻🦋
That is one of your best birds.
Thank you so much, that is so kind of you. Have a wonderful weekend🦋🌻
How enjoyable to travel with you through the ice and the beautiful winter scenery. Your tour of Borneville was fascinating. I ceased buying Cadbury the day they were swallowed into an American conglomerate. Yet another instance of Britain withdrawing from having any presence in the world.
Hi Ian, thank you so much for watching. I am so pleased that you enjoyed the winter scenery. Have a super Sunday and wonderful week ahead, take care🦋🌻
Thank you Vanessa, I always feel like my reset button has reset to calm after watching your videos, have a good week 🌞
It is so lovely to know that you are feeling calm and chilled after the vlog. I hope your weekend is wonderful and full of relaxation. Take care, Lynne🌻🦋
Mmmmmmmmmm chocolate, isn't the houses there beautiful thank you for showing us round. Grand
The houses were beautiful weren’t they, but just imagine the energy bills! Thank you so much for watching. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend 🌻😄
Take care🌻🦋
Glad you're able to move again. I bet that ice doesn't do your blacking much good. Enjoy your day and stay safe to you and your daughter
Love your outlook you are truly biophilic 💯
Thank you so much, that is such a compliment and I really appreciate it.🤗 Have a super weekend, take care🌻🦋
What a great lifestyle in Bournville. If life were like that now how different it would be.
You are so right there👍👍 🌻🦋
Hi, I dearly love your adventures. You explain everything so well. Take care and God bless you and your family.
Thank you so much Teresa for such a lovely comment.🤗 Have a wonderful rest of the weekend, take care🦋🌻
Flake tree...love it. Nice sketch btw!
I’m glad you liked the flake tree. Thank you so much for watching and commenting, take care 🌻🦋
Thank you 🙏✝️🙏🇨🇦
You are so welcome! Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment. Have a wonderful weekend 🌻🦋
Thanks Vanessa for another lovely cheer-up. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Thank you so much, Stevie. I’m glad you enjoyed the vlog.
I really Injoyed that vlog and I love watching you all and zephyr as well she makes the vlog keep up the amazing work and keep warm

That is such a lovely and kind thing to say, thank you so much.😊🐾🐾 Have a wonderful weekend, take care🌻🦋
Always a good way to start the weekend 😊
Thank you so much Billyboy! Have a wonderful weekend🌻🦋
Always a soothing and enjoyable experience watching your fine videos Vanessa. Thank you so very much and sending you all my very best from Arizona.
Thank you so much Michael and family🤗 I am so pleased that you found watching this week's vlog a soothing experience. Have a wonderful weekend🦋🌻
Gorgeous vlog
You are so kind- thank you so much, Nanci! Take care🌻🦋
I’m glad your internet is up and running again. Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment. Have a wonderful weekend🌻🦋
I miss seeing the European Jay it has lovely plumage glad you were able to tackle those jobs it's surprising how the winter affects us all.
The Jay is a spectacular bird isn't it and so shy normally, but this one was quite at ease with me watching and filming it from the other side of the road. Thank you so much for watching. Have a wonderful weekend.🌻🦋
Good to see you got some gloves.
I think this episode could well have been called “Vanessa and the CHOCOLATE factory”🤗 most enjoyable as ever, all the best J🌻
Such a lovely content in every one of your yt I am so glad I found this ❤ I am 😊 looking from scandinavia
I’m so pleased that you are enjoying the vlogs. Take care 🦋🌻
I meant 😊
Not sure what they call the artwork painted on the sides off Narrow Boats…
On Lorries it’s a Decal above the Domicile painted on drivers door🤔
I don’t know what they call the artwork on boats either? Thank you for your lovely comment. Take care 🌻🦋
So good to be back watching your videos again. Have a question if narrowboats are made of steel what's the harm of breaking up the ice?
Well it is lovely having you back and watching again. Good question; narrowboats are tough and can break the ice if it's not too thick, but the blacking can get scraped off and if you pass a boat that's not made of steel, then you could damage their boat by shoving the ice in their direction. Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for your comment.🦋🌻
@@themindfulnarrowboat Thank you for the answer. I didn't know some narrowboats are not made of steel. What are they made of.
Loved the reassuring sound and sights of trains passing. Would your interest in Severn and Avon mean that area could be your next travels x
It does indeed, Richard! Thank you so much for your lovely comment. Have a wonderful weekend🌻🦋
Lovely vlog….

Oh dear 😢, that’s the blacking well and truly stripped 😮
The boat is due to be blacked this year after the frosts and icy days hopefully. Thank you for watching. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend🦋🌻
@@themindfulnarrowboat Thanks for your lovely reply!! Love watching your channel, your words painting and drawings!! Love drawing and watercolour myself, You would love my tiny bothy up here in Northern Scotland 🏴.
PS glad your aware of the blacking!!
@@themindfulnarrowboat Weel, at least you were able to enjoy the odour!! Have a fun week. Where to next?
It sure is hard for the boat, but nice views.
Nice garden too
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I am pleased that you enjoyed the views. Have a wonderful weekend🦋🌻
I hope you enjoyed your Hersheys! Thank you so much for watching and commenting, take care🌻🦋
you swim through History, it's very interesting, 😍
I like that phrase! 🤩 Thank you so much for watching, take care🌻🦋
Even Zephyr got a pink Cadbury B.A.L.L.
🐾🐾😂She did! Thank you for watching. Take care 🦋🌻
I would have the same misconception.
I couldn't really see but were those daffodil leaves not onions? Thank you for your enjoyable interesting video.
Vanessa your drawings are beautiful utterly stunning where can one get your books
That is so kind of you. My Etsy shop is themindfulnarrowboat.etsy.com take care🦋🌻
Hi .to add .I hope you’re narrowboat was not too damaged while manoeuvring into position.
It is fine, thank you Anthony. Take care🌻🦋
It’s too bad the canal trust doesn’t have purpose-built icebreaker boats 😊. Take care and stay warm!
Ice-breaker boats are an excellent idea! Every year, the ice during the winter seems to be getting worse. Thank you so much for watching. Have a wonderful weekend🦋🌻
👍
I love your garden Vanessa, do you grow herbs or salads? The bulbs coming up look like daffodils. Thank you for another interesting vlog x
