And people seem to appreciate what i play, but somehow i thought the songs i knew were starting to get a little bit boring for the audience. Perhaps I started thinking that because I played them so much. Now i see this video I think i understand the audience i play for. I have played 4 of the songs in this video so much. 2:05 to about 2:13 is insane. I can play the whole song but that part with multiple notes overlapping at certain spots is just so difficult. Beautifully played. Well done.
Skilled pianists are so undervalued and underappreciated. When people see someone playing piano, most will stop and listen. Pianos are so classy, stylish, and can always turn heads anywhere good music is heard. Learning piano is worth doing, You will know it forever, and you can entertain the way very few can. Its a dying art full of fascinating culture that might be lost one day to the grips of time.
Totally agree, pianist are so undervalued. I had this urge to learn piano since i touched it when I was very young, Its been 10 years I’m playing piano, i grew up and felt that it is such a useless skill for so much effort i put into it until I started making techno and found out the huge advantage it gave me.
Agreed. It's sad. When I was a child, almost everyone I knew took piano lessons. By high school, few. Then by end of high school, I ended up being the only person still taking lessons. Now, none of my friends play.
1 and 2 are modern composers. Melodies are more simple, repetitive and relaxing. Older composers have the keyboard going all over the place and magically mesmerizing. The first comment isnt meant to be negative just something i noticed.
There are so many languages but the one that nobody realizes that is used the most is music. Music is expressing feelings in ways that can’t be shown through talking. Everyone can speak it even if they aren’t good at it. Have an amazing day and know that your always loved 💕
Somewhere someone is having a really bad day, and I hope you find this random message and know I may not know your face or your problems but that doesn’t mean I don’t care. Your days will get better soon I’m more than positive about that.
There is no instrument more beautiful and complex than the piano in my opinion, I've practiced for years and still cant play this well. Playing the piano and listening to it is the purest form of relaxation ever.
Ava Zhang I never liked the whole white good, bad black thinking. Maybe that is why I always rooted for the bad guys in old westerns. If you want, you can reverse the colors. The effect is still the same.
This has been my go-to video for falling asleep for the last few years. Whether it's a noisy hostel room, a strange bed or just plain restlessness. It works. Thank you Rousseau!
I used to listen to these masterpieces while I was reading and enjoying my books. This is so surprising that I have been wanting to find this video again for a few days, lets just skip the part I was trying to remember the channel's name for years, and now I found it again. Thanks again and love your art!
I come from Vietnam. Actually, I have never heard classical music before. However, this time I am enamored with kind of music because it is similar with my life.
Color is the keyboard, the eyes are the harmonies, the soul is the piano with many strings. The artist is the hand that plays, touching one key or another, to cause vibrations in the soul.
Right now, there are people all over the world who are just like you. They're either lonely, they're missing somebody, they're depressed, they're hurt, they're scarred from the past, they're having personal issues no one knows about, they have secrets you wouldn't believe. They wish, they dream and they hope. And right now, they are sitting here reading these words, and I'm writing this for you so you dont feel alone anymore. Always remember, don't be depressed about the past, don't worry about the future, and just focus on today. If today's not so great don't worry! Tomorrow's a new chance. If you are reading this, be sure to share this around to make others feel better. Have a nice day! :) Thanks guys for 1.4k likes :)
proud to announce i have provided the 69th like. also thats a really clever idea to comment the time of the song you want to listen to again, might actually start doing that haha
Its been 3 years i still come back to this video, it reminds me that aside from bad things, there are also good things in this world, things that deserve appreciation.
I started piano when I was 5. I stopped when I was around 9 or 10 and I have always regretted it. I didn’t like any of the teachers or the music place. Over the summer I started again and I love my teacher so much. She’s the most supportive and incredible person. I wish I found this company sooner and maybe then I’ll be able to play something like this but I’ll keep working hard to get to play beautiful pieces like these.
Moon child can you get an inexpensive electric keyboard? There are plenty of ways to teach yourself piano from RUclips, lots of great people teaching fun easy songs...
@@ttamaraaax I started out like that, my parents couldn't afford a piano and my neighbor gave me one and even tho I couldn't get lessons, I would practice day and night to some tutorials on youtube and honestly I learned really fast
For the people learning (or any other thing even unrelated to music) piano just know that all these amazing pianists are not talented, they are skilled. They put time and practice into this, so don’t feel lesser, you just need to practice, even if it seems like it’s not doing much; compare your playing now to when you started, progress is there and it will continue. “Natural talent” only gets you so far, it takes work, so don’t give up. Thank you for coming to my tedtalk
Ok so I love listening to actual talented pianist but it always makes me feel like I'll never get to where I want to be. You literally just helped my mood from being upset and annoyed to being inspired. It may be way past midnight but I'm going to practice more piano. Thank you fellow hooman
My sister plays some of these so hearing them makes me feel very happy. She’s one of the most important people in my life, and she likes learning songs for me

i'm away from my beautiful, lovely piano at the moment, but i imagine coming back to put on this video and learn at least one of these pieces. and then sit there alone in my room playing it, proud. oh, how i love playing piano.
I play this for my 6 month old son in the car while driving to help him relax & sleep. Unfortunately it almost puts me to sleep as well, lol. Its also a fave while writing. Absolutely gorgeous, thank you ♡
Great idea! I’ve got a 21 month old nephew and even before he was born, my sister would play calm hymns for him. Now, if you play those same hymns, he calms down.
in my opinion, river flows in you is 100% the most beautiful song in the RUclips vid. As I cry while listening to this, I realize that whenever I listen to really pretty, sad songs, i for some reason just remember memories from my past. These are enchanting pieces. Thank you so much!
I agree, I learned the song in a month as a a beginner, but now for some reason the song doesn't sound as good or as impressive as before I learned it.
I felt the first song so deeply, it made me go back in time and... Remember "those" times. This music is such a masterpiece, and this pianist, their Leonardo Da Vinci.
To everyone who's reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind. May clarity replace confusion. May peace and calmness fill your life. 🙏
thank you, but you're saying it like only those with something hurting them or those with stress listen to relaxing music lol, i'm doing my homework and i wanted to have something to listen to that doesn't distract me from my homework...
I’ve been listening to this for a whole month now every night and I will continue to do so. It helps me relax and unwind and I feel great because I have insomnia but this really helps
I love all these songs...but Erik Satie's Gymnopédie No. 1 just breaks my heart. Rousseau, your version literally brought me to tears. So sad and so beautiful. Thank you for touching my heart and soul so deeply. (Even the Moonlight Sonata feels heartbreaking here.) That and Camille Saint-Saenz' The Swan from Carnival of the Animals by Kathryn Stott and Yo-Yo Ma. Heartbreaking all.
POV: You’re in English class, it’s independent reading time. The lights are dimmed. You sit in the very back corner in the class room where the teacher can’t see you. You put your head down on the cold desk and put on your jacket. You listen to the soothing music and the scattered sounds of flipping pages. Your eyelids begin to feel heavy and your eyes dry. You take one long blink which made you even more sleepy, again you take a long blink, but you didn’t open your eyes after 3 seconds. Next thing you know your friend taps on your back, all the lights are back on and the last bell for the day just rang. It’s time to go home for the weekend.
I hate when I'm really comfy and drifting off to sleep and rememebr I have homework. My eyes fling wide open and I get really hot and uncomfortable until i get the hw done

Just sitting here in quarantine, drinking some tea and listening to your beautiful music, bringing a tear to my eye.
I agree
Totally agree, pianist are so undervalued. I had this urge to learn piano since i touched it when I was very young, Its been 10 years I’m playing piano, i grew up and felt that it is such a useless skill for so much effort i put into it until I started making techno and found out the huge advantage it gave me.
Agreed. It's sad. When I was a child, almost everyone I knew took piano lessons. By high school, few. Then by end of high school, I ended up being the only person still taking lessons. Now, none of my friends play.
I agree, like it's soooo true
It's so true, I agree
1 and 2 are modern composers. Melodies are more simple, repetitive and relaxing. Older composers have the keyboard going all over the place and magically mesmerizing.
The first comment isnt meant to be negative just something i noticed.
Except for Moonlight. That's peaceful and not all over the place. I like all of them tbh. The older ones have more grace to them to me.
