Pretty much everything he said is 100% correct. Some additions:
When renting, you will pay 5% of the annual rent as a fee to the agent.
When starting a bank, if you are from one of the sanctioned countries, it can take months to get an account, or they will even reject you.
So it can be easier to try applying digitally, as most of these banks allow this through their apps. That will take a few days and often you will be approved.

Hello @wealthy expat, does the driving licence only get changed to UAE licence, just paperwork to do , or we have to pass through learning again in the UAE and pass tests ?

I have a question I’m a U.S citizen planning on moving to Dubai, when I convert my U.S driver’s license to UAE Driver’s License, Do I get my U.S driver’s license back ? Reason being I’m going to be traveling back & forth to the U.S-UAE.
