Ive been a bmw fan at heart since the OG RWD Naturally Aspirated days. This new generation of bmw "fans" disappoints me. Everything is copy and paste and people like to call their equipment "builds". Bmw invasion was trash they might as well call it g80 invasion. I do appreciate real builds that take alot of time and work like Johns 1er. Lol
I couldn't agree more. I went to the first one they had in '02 and was excited about a dedicated bmw event. It was F80 fest but was decent and had potential. This past event. Pure garbage. There were maybe 7-8 cars that were decent to nicely done. Only a had full of people truly get it and I won't be going again. If I want to see a bunch of wraps and stupid yo yo rims with jersey plates I'll take a plane trip to the jersey dump. Don't even get me started of the indoor admission scam and scam car giveaway 🙄 or all the NY/Jersey Yankees sitting in their cars smoking bud and drinking carelessly
had the black 435i out front , one of few people to top mount big turbo the n55, still a work in progress with tuning and having electrical issues. but yeah everyone had a g8x or f8x at bimmer invasion lol
Can't wait to see what happens with both of these cars. Right now the 1er is my favorite but I have a feeling that when you finish the M3 it could be a close race. Quick question, I really benefited from the videos you made about how you started a youtube channel and make 6 figures without getting millions of views per video. You mentioned it briefly in this video how you get to write off your builds to a certain extent because you are using them to make content and money. Would you consider making a short video about what taxes look like for you and how you run your automotive youtube channel as a business? I have watched some other videos on this topic but they are not geared directly toward car youtubers.

You have the Alcantara center on the CS Sporters. I run that setup on track with the M2, and they work great. Try them out before you buy seats. It’s great to be able to lean them forward and store stuff back there for track days. Also makes it streetable.
Skip R888Rs, awful on track. REs are amazing but are expensive and you won't see their benefit until your fast. An endurance tire is better suited in this case - ECFs, AD09s, or RS4s. Cheaper than REs, still much faster than street tires, will last forever.
Wished I had Keith drop off my car. Instead I had your experience with the crazy Croatian. Why a Porsche dealership would contract that guy (maybe through a broker also) is beyond me. Ended up costing them the transportation fee and $1,100 additional for 2 new front tires.

The most disappointing thing to me is how cliquish the community is. Maybe it's because it's a luxury brand. Even going to Audi shows people will build a random ... Civic... made awd with a VAG motor, etc. BMW, all M cars. Not even _M - lites_ . Ya, it feels like an exclusivity show not a car (bmw) show.
If you're getting old, then so am I! The G8x overload is real. While the car itself wouldn't satisfy my needs in a car (currently), I have pretty much stayed away from Bimmer Invasion vids because it seems like the same G8x cars get highlighted over and over again.. Like you said, props to the owners, regardless... but man, it feels so oversaturated at this point. 🤷♂
💯 bro on the g8x’s Eventuri intake, equal length mid pipe, vorsteiner grill, bbs wheels.. rinse repeat. One thing I have loved about building my g30 540 is the aftermarket scene is not as big. Lot of diy and think outside of the box.
Been running Ohlins R&T with Vorshlag Camber Plates and Swift Springs on my 2012 M3 for a year. I couldn’t believe the difference over just H&R springs. Have Turner End Links sitting in the box that I need to put on…watching your vid is motivating me!

Ron at Auto Solutions is a true enthusiast. Definitely go with his kits. Hell of a guy as well. He'll chat you up if you get him on the phone. There's a lot more refinement and passion that goes into his stuff.

@ 12:30. I agree with you I felt like there was ALOT of g80s and I was really gravitating more towards the E30s and E92s and some of the older models that were just very mint and tastefully modded at the event.
I literally just finished installing the AutoSolutions SSK. Havnt driven it yet but shifting in the garage it already feels amazing. Ronald is a great guy and helped me out with all of my questions and I would definitely buy from him again and recommend him to anyone. For transmission mounts, I dont think Rogue makes mounts for E9x M3. I tried the 034 mounts and although they were good quality and only slightly higher durometer than stock, I ended up putting stock mounts back in as I found there was too much noise, for me, for casual driving. Especially when engaging first gear. If you are more track focused, you probably wouldnt notice the NVH at all. Should also check engine mounts as well. Some of my NVH from the transmission mounts may be related to aging clutch parts and/or engine mounts (which I havnt changed yet). Would you recommend the ohlins kit even for casual/street driving, versus say Bilstein B6/B8/B12 kit? I dont really care about lowering but just want better suspension for weekend mountain roads fun while still being civilized for city.

034 Makes hardened rubber mounts. Its the best OE+ solution. Also, I don't think going to a CF driveshaft is worth it. I would keep the stock steel DS to keep the NVH down. My two cents. Good luck and I look forward to the build.
Honest opinion... I have an unpure niche 2021 228i Gran Coupe F44 and have made it look more presentable. Could I take it to the next Bimmer invasion, or will I be laughed at? This is my first owned bimmer.

Their all great it and have good back end support, how u unique or crazy ur project would be is up to u. Get an AWRON guages At eas ull love it and will be useful.
…if I wanna seriously complete head-to-head w/ those “company builds”…than I guess I will have to take out a 2nd mortgage to achieve my objective. That would be more than enough to do it.

Totally agree with your opinion, not discrediting anyone on their choices and what they choose to build but it definitely felt like a g8?x invasion over a "Bimmer" for the last 2 years i understand marketing and the next "best"/ "newest thing" and at the end of the day events cost money and its a business and it would not keep happening if it was not profitable, but defiantly looking for more enthusiast and individualism in builds, making something out of nothing is more interesting then making a top tier model more top tier at least for me.
I got an 03 330ci because I wanted to build a 2door chaser, i got gypped by the seller now i look dumb but..... My point is can i still come to these lol

@ThicWhips I drive a 1200hp supra with them. Other than rocks picking up all under me, I most definitely have never heard a wheel bearing roar like that. I'm also a very seasoned mechanic, with bmws as well. M cars. Ect.... I still believe I hear a wheel bearing, and the 888r's I've had over 2 years. Car only drives for fun.

The car looks great!! Black wheels always look great on grey cars. Especially the Space Grey E92 M3’s. I know that yours is a wrap.
