My solar panel stopped charging my ring spotlight cam after a couple weeks. Is there a fix for this? Or should I just return them while I can? It’s kind of disappointing
I’m glad to see there are instructions that show practical application. It might be just me but I really dislike her voice. Sounds like a Kardasian and they are very annoying
Pay more attention to those that are voicing concerns about solar charging. My solar charger spends hours in the sun and the charge barley increases. I have set the recording to off for days to try to get the battery level charged up. There is nothing Ring provides to suggest how well the battery is charging, or if the solar panel is putting any charge into the battery. This device is useless for my application, as I needed the camera 20' high and I can't keep getting a ladder to remove and charge the battery. Glad I only bought 1, as this product combination does not work for me, despite having South facing solar panel mount so it does get full sun when it is shining, but does not charge the battery nearly enough for regular recording. I will go back to POE cameras, as I expected better performance for spending $300 for a single camera setup. It might work better in Arizona, but not in the Pacific Northwest.
I agree with you. It’s a waste of money for this camera and solar panel. For the price, you could literally get 3 cameras and not worry about a solar panel.

I like the Ring Spotlight Cam Battery/Solar a lot. Only thing is that 'long' screw that connects the camera to its pivot mount is too short, in my opinion. It was very thoughtful to add extras to the kit, but I just could not get the job done while up on the ladder; I wound up using a hose clamp around the pivot clamp - the little screws all ended up in the landscape shubs. A longer screw would allow the threads to catch the far end of the clamp and still be loose enough to fit the ball pivot into the clamp. Anyway, I am VERY pleased with the camera performance. Battery stays charged even with HDR, stills taken every five minutes, and spotlight activation upon nighttime motion detection. Exactly what I was hoping for! Good job. I'm going to buy another one right now (I have another hose clamp ;-)

I ordered the 4W solar panel and the 10 foot USB-C extension the afternoon of 20JAN23 and they arrived at 1700 hours on 21JAN23!!! Five stars for amazing service! If I order another 10 foot extension, and connect it to the first extension cord, will that solve the problem?
Hey Neighbor, thanks for getting in touch. The Solar Charger for Ring devices will provide a trickle charge throughout the day in order to extend the battery life. This will usually provide up to 10% of a trickle charge per day, depending on how many events are received and how many hours of sunlight your Solar Panel receives. Additionally, battery life is determined by how many events the Ring Device captures per life cycle. The battery will last about 1,000 notification events. How long is the connecting cable?
Hey Larry! The Solar Panel's cord is
13-ft. (3.96-m.) in length with a weatherproof barrel connector - check it out here: bit.ly/2RvkXok. Let us know if you have any more questions.
Where the solar panel has to go, there is no direct sunlight. Will this still charge the batteries?
Hey Don! For the Solar Charger to be able to charger your Ring, it will need a few hours of direct sunlight each day. This will ensure that it receives enough solar power in order to provide power to your Ring's battery.
When you switch the back plate with the nub at the bottom, what are we supposed to do with the rubber piece we pulled out if we aren’t using solar?
G H 😂😂😂
Do you have the link where I can buy the adaptor? It is not on the ring website.
Hi Jerico, find our available adapters here: bit.ly/2zMQ5bE and let us know if you have any other questions.
@@ring can you give specific link, I dont see adaptor
@@ring Hey Ring, can you link to the exact adapter? I too cannot find it on your website. Thanks!
@@ring I still don't see the adapter. Could you place a link straight to the product instead of the accessory page?
How the heck do you get the camera down??? Once it's in, it really doesn't come out.
Hi neighbor, we appreciate you reaching out! The Spotlight Cam can be removed from the wall-mounted bracket by loosening the long security screw in the back that connects the Cam to the bracket. With that screw loosened, your Spotlight Cam's ball joint can be easily removed. Please let us know if you have any more questions!

Is there an option for a shorter cable?
Thanks for asking. While there isn't an option for a shorter cable for the Ring Solar Panel, we'll forward your interest in this option to our development team. We're always happy to help if you have any other questions.
You can neatly roll it up and use a twist tie to keep it short. That is what I did.

Hey Alex! Please feel free to reach out to our team at ring.com/callus and we'd be happy to have some sent your way. Let us know if we can help with anything else!

Solar panel doesn’t really work well
So we need to keep at least one battery inside ?
Hi there, we do recommend keeping at least one battery pack inside the device as this is its main source of power.
