Isaiah Garletts yeah, and once you have done those things. It stops being fun, I loved this game, trust me. I waited about 5 years for the release. And I played it like crazy. I’m pirate legend rn and nothing in the game brings me joy anymore. It’s just the same thing over and over again. Maybe ur new to the game, I don’t know. But for me, and many other people who have played the game, it has lost its charm.

I have 80+ hours in this game and I literally have never experienced this. The only way I can imagine it even being possible is if the enemy decide to board your ship and decide not to sink it. That way they can wait for you to respawn below deck and kill you again. But this is easily avoided. Just vote to scuttle ship. An enemy has no way of knowing which island your new ship will appear on. So if you spawn on an island and get immediately attacked, it's just extremely bad luck. I do however think it's annoying that enemies that are sunk will spawn way too close. When you do skull event the enemy ship can return way too fast after you sink it. It's annoying when you have to sink them 5-6 times over the course of a skull event. By that time you will run out of cannon balls and gunpowder barrels. It should be a fight over who gets to do the event. And the penalty of losing this one battle should be that you respawn too far away to make it back in time :)
I went out on a long multiple chapter quest, got like 8 skulls to turn in, sailed up to the nearest outpost to sell them, and got killed over and over by a group of friends that were just killing and looting anyone who came to turn in quests.
Thank god i only had the trial, because why grind through shitty monotonous quests just to have a group of 13 year-olds kill you and take whatever it was you earned from trudging through the terrible gameplay.
Brian They made this a thing in the patch from yesterday. Now ships spawn 5 or 6 islands away when you sink them instead of 1 or 2. So happy.
@brian you've never once had another crew wait just outside a raid to blitz you once you win it. cause in about 50 hours iv'e had that happen over a dozen times. Hell ive had multiple crews team up 'cause they knew they wouldn'
they wouldn't win elsewise
they fixed the spawn being too close, they spawn now 11 to 15 squares from where they sunk, that means about 3 islands away. and you should be able to get resources like cannonballs and planks from their ship, as well as bananas from the skelly fort, since the barrels refill themselves every now and then...

@1987MartinT Absolutely. in five years they added megalodons, skeleton ships and fleet battles, 3 different pvp factions, sea forts, siren shrines, the fort of the damned, tall tales, captaincy, immense quality of life changes that I can't share here.

Im here in 2020 and i can tell u the game has improved DRASTICALLY. More content, story missions, 2 new factions, better looking cosmetics, etc.

This game has gotten really good in November 2022, but this video couldn't be more accurate when compared to the game on launch.
When he said the line about twitch streamers at the start they should have shown the clip of the dev saying they develop with LPers in mind

Honestly the world looks great, the sailing and ship combat feel satisfying, and the quests at their start are alot of fun. But the quests get repetitive really fast, the endgame is just a grind, the customization is purely aesthetic and again just a grind, melee combat is uninspired, npc interaction is extremely limited, npc enemies are virtually non-existent (just skellies), and really any story starts and ends with "Ima be a piratez".
You're at the endgame the moment you load in for the first time.
Satisfying combat?
It contests Skyrim in its shallowness.

I agree to everything that is stated here, as do millions of other players. I'm 100% sure that they are listening (and quite possibly panicking a little) and preparing more content for the future ("with the next big update being in two months" was stated at release). Right now they are implementing fixes (which should've been there long before release) and making sure everything runs smoothly. It's bullshit and they are absolutely in the wrong releasing this at such a high price tag and I'm extremely disappointed in SoT and Rare, but they are listening. This game might be worth playing in half to a full year...
Skyrim's combat is abysmal though.
If you want a great ocean based game...Subnautica is the one to play! And an honest trailer of it would be fantastic!

I hope to god it actually gets content in the future. The core gameplay is there, we just need more

The reason being, if the Triple A gaming devs and pubs think it’s acceptable to “No Man’s Sky” the hell out of games consumers, we will end up receiving half games on pre-order, or plumping £50 for a ‘game’ that is basically early access, as standard (see loot boxes and MTrans. as examples of classy industry bullshit, normalised). And then we’ll end up in that whole Steam Direct/Greenlight shitfest, but on an industry level rather than just one stupid ass outlet.
EA have already shown how utterly rapey they get when given a money bone. The last thing we need is to accept this kind of half-baked shit in an empty ‘updates to follow’ state. If they can’t be bothered to make a game properly any more, fuck them. We don’t like it, we shouldn’t buy it, especially when what we are buying is hype.

This game is literally centered around absolute teamwork and interaction with other pirates. If you dont have a fun crew and if you're in server with a bunch of no mics and not many ships, you're going to feel like you're on a grind for no reason. However on a positive note the creators have released a content expansion plan for the next year and a half that's free dlc to all players.
I have been putting a lot of time into sea of thieves and every adventure was different then the last, I love it

For those not aware, the company is Rareware in name only. The entirety of the people that made DK64, Banjo-Kazooie and Concker's bad Fur Day had already left when the company turned into a production line for kinect games. Since kinect is now scrapped (to the surprise of no one), M$ have had to turn the company around again, and get them to make games again.
