AUGURIO - SHORT FILM

hihihihhi im back with my animation exam project!! sorry for my inactivity here!! this semester has been crazy (not the craziest tho) but here i am!!
for my animation from the visual arts class we had to make a shortfilm inspired in one of the animations we saw during the semester and one specific theme,, as for me, i choose The Tell Tale Heart from UPA and surrealism,, yeah.. this was like my first animation animation thing ever and i was super excited,, i literally had no sleep for 2 weeks but here i am...
also sorry for the weird subs LMAO the thing is spanish is very poem like with tons of rhymes and I TRIED to tl it to a poetic english version but god.. english rhymes are so weird so i just tled it literally im sorry GFJDGLDK
As for the theme, i really wanted to navigate through the mechanisms of omens or augury. since 4 years ago, when bad stuff started to constantly happen in my life (and following the same problem) i came up with this idea that ants are an omen of that specific problem but idk why?? so i kinda did a retrospect on that,, why do we gather omens,, why do we believe in them and how they follow us or we follow them,, how are we constantly looking for signs of the future when in reality, future is 100% uncertain and yet we rely on random stuff to feel protected ANYWAYS. yeah

This short film doesn’t haunt, but rather unnerves me. I like the grotesque imagery you employ - those insects and the decaying corpse, kudos to the narrator and the bgm as well! Your work inspires the prospect of studying animation/fine art in the future!

I'm late to the party but whatever. This is an amazing piece of art. You captured the ambiance so well, it's super heavy and oppressing, yet it feels like the place is so wild... The ants thing is somewhat terrifying.
Watching it at night during a storm is what I'm doing and It's a whole other level of experience. This makes me think of some Gobelins students final work. I love it.

Is this about depression( Or some mental illness)?
The ants keep appearing at just a bit by bit. It's easy to get rid of them at first, but when it keep appearing. You realize that even you destroy them, they will keep appearing anyway, so you decide to avoided instead. Then the feeling taunt you down, you lost the energy to stay away, you let them drive you, you didnt scare or pleased. Just walk down. It's not that bad you think, so you keep walking then realize the things you think in your mind arent all real. And you scare of the things you felt, something's off. So you just run away(even you know that you didnt go anywhere, either them) Just let the all the feeling embrace you and keep living.
So I guess the ants are the feeling that you cant control🤔
