I’ve been watching you for over a two years now. Your journey has been quite informative & you’re the only RUclips trucker that I’ve seen work a business plan to complete success. Now your reaping the rewards & I hope you continue to do so. I’ll keep watching & learning. Oh & for the name; Starcar Dave
Congratulations on the Truck. Good Luck I hope it works out for you. Gonna miss ole Chili Blue. Oh and yes yes going through your bank you have a good relationship with is a great way to go. I did that and I got an incredible IR of 2.9%
Hi. I check out 5 or 6 u tubers on a regular enough basis. You come across as the man who uses wisdom, experience and industry knowledge to make your decisions. I like your style. I reckon you have made a very wise choice and I believe that you will reap the benefits of that choice for years to come. I am involved in log haulage in Ireland and I change my tractor every four years. I have a full maintenance contract lease and my daily costs are fixed for the four year period. So the very best of luck to you with your new truck. You won't regret your decision. By the way, PATRIOT DAVE sounds good to me. Greetings to you from Ireland.
Sounds like you've convinced yourself and want follower affirmations to your decision. Good luck with the freightliner 1-box. That's a $12K+ bill right there.
@@starcardave339 My "calculated risk" is keeping my 1998 Volvo running. Biggest expense this year so far was a 6-pack injector ($4K labor included). Fuel econ @ 8mpg. Paperlog all day and I don't need Cali loads to make money. Do I want a "newer" truck? Uuuuhhhhmm, NO! Trust me, you will look back and wish your "calculated risk" was not executed. Cali is not the only place to make money.
vroor32 if paper log is important to you, it tells me all I need to know about your business. You might not be generating enough profit to justify a new truck.
@@starcardave339 hahaha .... Actually, and honestly, I am. Not to toot my horn, but I'm about to run a 500mile load for $2200. Last week I booked a $950 load for 450 miles, turned into a load from hell, ended up getting a final rate con of $2800 after sitting on it for 2 extra days. I'm currently at $3.50 loaded & 2.40 all miles. Paperlog have nothing to do with my rate cons.... And no, I don't chase miles. Some brokers have commented that I'm a little "expensive", but yet, they call me back...go figure...
Congratulations on the deal. Hopefully it goes through smooth. What do you mean when you say "cycle it out"? Does that mean turn it in and get another rig?
I don't like the 7 year terms for a truck. 3 or 4 years at the most. After 3 years, you will be hit hard because you can't deprecate the truck any longer
@@tim220225 I have... The devil is in the details...The IRS make a distinction between TRUCK vs Semi Tractor... Your accountant is correct.. Trucks can get deprecated over 5 years. Semi Tractors can only be deprecated over 3

The banks want longer terms so they make more interest. Congratulations and Good luck with the new truck. $ounds like a great deal.
new name that will grow your fan base !!!!!!!!!!!! Goblin trucker
Bobby Porter you should suggest that to Little Guy.

Those c13 and c15 were always underappreciated
I enjoy listening to you think out loud. You seem happy with your decision and I wish you well. Thank you for making videos.
Lisa Russ thank you.
Today the truck lot would sell it for $80k!

Instead of a new truck, you might look for a repo. I think there will be plenty of those soon.
Congrats on that Westernstar. Did you get that DD16? California is just a pain in the tookus! I hope it pays well to go that far west.
👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🚛🚛🚛
11:00 oh no..how much..you say that..
you mean th is
170k? To much.... For this market..
5.5% is a fantastic rate even if you personally guaranteed the loan
Trucker 202 I was on the fence. I really like the truck. This was not a last minute decision. I believe it was fairly thought out.

Sounds like a good all around deal and decision your making especially with more opportunities to go California 👍

Call yourself "Former Columbia Glider" Dave.
How long did you own that glider
Sandip Ssandip 3 years.
Congratulations on the deal. Hopefully it goes through smooth.

Right Lane yes.
load cheaper truck?
Did you see daniel McCarthy got rid of his peterbuilt 😁
Powerful no, sure didn’t. The circles I run in knew that would be the out come at some point. It sucks, and I’ll leave it at that.

Matt Berg not the glider. Freightliner of Harrisburg PA has been good to me though. Thank you Matt.

Check with your CPA. 3 years is the shortest. My CPA is doing mine over 5 years.

450 a week? Hmmm.. nice terms
What's the fuel mileage on the glider vs your new truck?
Trucker 202 the glider gets 6.8-6.9 on the average. I’m hopping the western star is closer to 7.5. Won’t know for sure till I’m out in it.
18k easy 9cpm

Used internationals are the best deals going now... Low mileage and factory warranty...
