I am going to predict, that they wont do much if anything to change Air strikes. This is purely based on how insane the rocket planes vs destroyers are, I see no difference here tbh.
just imagine a division of these. and all 3 cruisers saved up all 3 of their airstrikes and then droppped them all at once!!! thats 3+3+3= fuck this game ( some how cvs could still tank this consumable because fucking reasons).

Apparently this was done in WW2, but it'd be WAY more balanced...with a tenth of the damage and the planes ACTUALLY flying in from way farther out (Maybe from where they were summoned?) so there'd actually be some goddamn counters possible. It's more ridiculous every time i watch this vid.

@ If you look closely you'll see him at 300K, then after the second set of bombs lands it goes up to 900K, and when the third one lands 1.35M. After the fires ticks 2 times it goes up to 1.41M, so it's actually 1.1M potential damage from the bombs only.
Maybe that was the plan? Make something so broken that people will look away from CVs to complain about something else, so they won't have to actually work on fixing CVs. Genius if you ask me.

@@pineapplekun8769 Never said it was unique to the Kremlin. Being focused over other BBs is, everyone knows the power of the ship. On NA servers Kremlins and GKs are typically the first BBs to die. HE spamming BBs just dumpster Kremlins. There is little it can do in return because of the shorter main gun range. Close in brawling a Kremlin is great, but that`s not the meta right now. 10k+ and double fires per salvo from a Thunderer eats those damage cons up fast. 0 health AA mounts don`t help either.

WG is simply applying that classic engineering technique known as "Test to the Point of Failure" where the test subject in this case is their playerbase.
yeah, this will hurt the Camping island meta, but will be harder to pull off against a ship moving at flank speed, changing course, etc. depending on the delay, naturally, and depending on how limited your choices of direction are. hemmed in by islands will make it easier.
Tbh he was camping the island, then reversed. Island camping needed a counter and this is pretty good as a concept. A ship moving at full speed, given a little more time to anticipate by increasing spawn and detection distance of the planes, has a fair chance to dodge this I reckon.
Oh its potato, love ur vids. Look at the cvs kd/r plz. Its always on 3.0 to 7.0 and no one its talking about. And the ostergoland had deep bombs on port and in battle they re out like magic.
The bombs probably should be changed to lower alpha strike and have some sort of incoming indicator, as well as spawning the planes at like 6km out. This way it can still be used as a deterrent to force people out of favorable positions but doesn't have the melting potential & gives adequate reaction time to the targeted ship
Increase the air strike cooldown into something extreme ( 5min or more) between each srike, what about increase the detection of those air strike (much further away then normal aircraft in order to other ships can get AA ready)
All of this on some of the best armored cruisers in the game with good armor, spaced armor, waterline citadel and 40mm icebreaker. But dont worry, they also got amazing AA, fast heal and DD like turning so carriers can not harm them. Aside from giving them homing torpedos and a Klingon cloaking device, what could WG have done to make them even more busted?
Excuse me, those things have sub 11km consealment while being heavy cruiser and also have a very little consealment in smoke after firing their gun, WG already gave them the cloaking device

I looked at the potential damage indicator in that clip, it went from around 210k to 1.3 million. That airstrike had around a million potential damage on its own give or take if you discount the potential damage from the shells being fired at the Alaska. The fuck is WG thinking?
I know, i know, the air strike is OP af. But in all earnesty, it really feel great to see an Alaska (which is a pain to deal with in 'normal ways') get f*cked like that for once. Would love to see these strike hitting some CV as well. "You like planes?! Here you go! Now go back to port bye!"
I'd rather have DD's and some cruisers drop minefields. Activate it like smoke and for a certain time all ships entering that area take damage over time. You could even show it on minimap for all to see to force ships to take other routs. It lasts for ~1-2 min max so you cant block half the map.
dont give WG any more ideas. They will add ur idea in the next line from the dutch BB. The Dutch BB ships able to minefield half of the map with aircraft
Do we actually have any numbers on how much of the damage was caused by the bombs and how much was caused by the incoming shells? Edit: 2:07 we can actually see damage numbers, so it seems like almost all damage was from the airstrike itself. That's pretty brutal. Though I wonder how much it is on ships that aren't in reverse...if it's less and only punishes those reverse shippers hard I'm almost okay with it...well...maybe if the numbers were cut in half or so.
IMO, how to fix: - Increased travel time, so they spawn further away. Maybe even spawn above the ship that launches them. - Put a cooldown timer on using bomber charges. Kind of like how autoloaders in WoT work: you have 3 shots in your magazine, you fire one, reload for 5 seconds, then fire another one, but in this case its planes being sent. Honestly could be as much as 10 seconds if you ask me. It's probably fine you can send them from stealth, but it'd be appropriate if they then spawn above, or near your ship so the enemy atleast has a good clue as to where you are, so they can potentially radar you (obv won't work with the 13KM Gouden Leeuw planes, but you get the idea.
I was the lepanto in that game, and our flank was basically wiped out in the first couple of minutes. Hindi and I managed to kite away somewhat successfully, only to lose on points with 3v2 on ships. The smoke on italian bb's was really helpful when they tried to drop strikes on me, and when it was on CD I managed to mitigate the damage by maneuvering my ship perpendicular to the strike. For any stationary target, it's basically game over though.
Yep, it is a major oof. I am looking forward to the Dutch cruisers because of De Ruyter, but I am not looking forward to these "Airstrikes". My guess is that they will probably nerf before the full release. At least we can hope.
The idea of airstrike was good especially against bb camping but WG fucked up in balancing. My suggestion would be when u activate the consumable the minimap pops up. U pick a coordinate for example in this case D9. and a direction where the planes come from north, east, west, or south. Then the planes would start to fly from the end of the map in this case u would probably pick east. So they would spawn in at the east end of the map and not right in front of the BB. Fly to the coordinates and then strike. All ships in D9 would get a message that there will be an incoming airstrike. Then in my opinion it would be balanced and the airstrike would more be an area deny tool than deleting other ships
Man, I sometimes can't get a devstrike on a broadside Neptune thanks to RNG dispersion, and here is a Dutch Cruiser basically nuking an Alaska of all things out of existence. The thing is that if you don't stack these AA may actually have a chance since the planes are AI controlled and flak actually has a chance to work since they don't dodge. But triple stacking the strikes there are so many planes it just doesn't matter. The power to decide if one ship can continue to live a mere 3 minutes into the match is so decisive that it can outright determine the result of the entire match.
Flammy got his way. This was a year ago, but that Alaska played DD, lead into open water. Blapped an island to stop momentum and presented a motionless target while bow tanking in reverse. Wargaming do not listen to the Mad Finn.
They seem so ridiculously powerful even without the plane nonsense. BB level armor, making halland AA look like garbage, god tier concealment. What is even supposed to be their downside?

yeah, this will hurt the Camping island meta, but will be harder to pull off against a ship moving at flank speed, changing course, etc. depending on the delay, naturally, and depending on how limited your choices of direction are. hemmed in by islands will make it easier.

Tbh he was camping the island, then reversed. Island camping needed a counter and this is pretty good as a concept. A ship moving at full speed, given a little more time to anticipate by increasing spawn and detection distance of the planes, has a fair chance to dodge this I reckon.

The bombs probably should be changed to lower alpha strike and have some sort of incoming indicator, as well as spawning the planes at like 6km out. This way it can still be used as a deterrent to force people out of favorable positions but doesn't have the melting potential & gives adequate reaction time to the targeted ship

he just did like 40k dmg without even firing a salvo with a cruiser, I'm pretty sure this is peak performance, even Stalingrad is jealous of.
Increase the air strike cooldown into something extreme ( 5min or more) between each srike,
what about increase the detection of those air strike (much further away then normal aircraft in order to other ships can get AA ready)
All of this on some of the best armored cruisers in the game with good armor, spaced armor, waterline citadel and 40mm icebreaker.
But dont worry, they also got amazing AA, fast heal and DD like turning so carriers can not harm them.
Aside from giving them homing torpedos and a Klingon cloaking device, what could WG have done to make them even more busted?
Excuse me, those things have sub 11km consealment while being heavy cruiser and also have a very little consealment in smoke after firing their gun, WG already gave them the cloaking device

But as a Dutchman I would like to state that I absolutely see no problem with this. This is perfectly fair and balanced. Not my fault that Alaska had such poor AA that she can't shoot down such an airstrike. 😂
She was also pretty much stationary with a giant bullseye painted on her just asking to be nuked. wonder how easy it would be to line that up if she had been going full speed and using evasive maneuvering.

I looked at the potential damage indicator in that clip, it went from around 210k to 1.3 million.
That airstrike had around a million potential damage on its own
give or take if you discount the potential damage from the shells being fired at the Alaska.

I know, i know, the air strike is OP af. But in all earnesty, it really feel great to see an Alaska (which is a pain to deal with in 'normal ways') get f*cked like that for once. Would love to see these strike hitting some CV as well. "You like planes?! Here you go! Now go back to port bye!"
I'd rather have DD's and some cruisers drop minefields. Activate it like smoke and for a certain time all ships entering that area take damage over time. You could even show it on minimap for all to see to force ships to take other routs. It lasts for ~1-2 min max so you cant block half the map.
dont give WG any more ideas. They will add ur idea in the next line from the dutch BB. The Dutch BB ships able to minefield half of the map with aircraft

It's ok. Kremlin deck armor shatters the bomb damage and the DCP takes care of the quadruple fire. Everything is fine komrade!
Do we actually have any numbers on how much of the damage was caused by the bombs and how much was caused by the incoming shells?
Edit: 2:07 we can actually see damage numbers, so it seems like almost all damage was from the airstrike itself. That's pretty brutal. Though I wonder how much it is on ships that aren't in reverse...if it's less and only punishes those reverse shippers hard I'm almost okay with it...well...maybe if the numbers were cut in half or so.

I have uninstalled the game half a year ago and havent played much since 8.0 ... I can laugh... LOUD... but I am crying inside...
IMO, how to fix:
- Increased travel time, so they spawn further away. Maybe even spawn above the ship that launches them.
- Put a cooldown timer on using bomber charges. Kind of like how autoloaders in WoT work: you have 3 shots in your magazine, you fire one, reload for 5 seconds, then fire another one, but in this case its planes being sent. Honestly could be as much as 10 seconds if you ask me.
It's probably fine you can send them from stealth, but it'd be appropriate if they then spawn above, or near your ship so the enemy atleast has a good clue as to where you are, so they can potentially radar you (obv won't work with the 13KM Gouden Leeuw planes, but you get the idea.

I was the lepanto in that game, and our flank was basically wiped out in the first couple of minutes. Hindi and I managed to kite away somewhat successfully, only to lose on points with 3v2 on ships. The smoke on italian bb's was really helpful when they tried to drop strikes on me, and when it was on CD I managed to mitigate the damage by maneuvering my ship perpendicular to the strike. For any stationary target, it's basically game over though.

I am looking forward to the Dutch cruisers because of De Ruyter, but I am not looking forward to these "Airstrikes". My guess is that they will probably nerf before the full release. At least we can hope.
The idea of airstrike was good especially against bb camping but WG fucked up in balancing. My suggestion would be when u activate the consumable the minimap pops up. U pick a coordinate for example in this case D9. and a direction where the planes come from north, east, west, or south. Then the planes would start to fly from the end of the map in this case u would probably pick east. So they would spawn in at the east end of the map and not right in front of the BB. Fly to the coordinates and then strike. All ships in D9 would get a message that there will be an incoming airstrike. Then in my opinion it would be balanced and the airstrike would more be an area deny tool than deleting other ships

You have to remember this is on the live server wasting receiving people's time and money, right? But wait it's going to be outdone by the subs.
Man, I sometimes can't get a devstrike on a broadside Neptune thanks to RNG dispersion, and here is a Dutch Cruiser basically nuking an Alaska of all things out of existence.
The thing is that if you don't stack these AA may actually have a chance since the planes are AI controlled and flak actually has a chance to work since they don't dodge. But triple stacking the strikes there are so many planes it just doesn't matter. The power to decide if one ship can continue to live a mere 3 minutes into the match is so decisive that it can outright determine the result of the entire match.
This is insane, even more toxic than CVs
Flammy got his way. This was a year ago, but that Alaska played DD, lead into open water. Blapped an island to stop momentum and presented a motionless target while bow tanking in reverse. Wargaming do not listen to the Mad Finn.
