I just turned 38 years old. I grew up in foster care and I desire to be a mother and a wife one day. Hopefully, God blesses me...thank you for sharing your journey!!
Thanks for sharing! I’m also 40 and pregnant! We need to normalize Women having babies at older ages. Both of my grandmothers have had their last children at 46 and 48. This been going on for decades so let’s celebrate it 🎉❤
LOVE THAT, "that's what good people do, besides being a good man." SO TRUE...He's not only a good man, he's a good person...That's a sermon right there Sis, AMEN!😂❤❤❤
This baby is going to be so calm and zen and organized😆😆 You and your husband are a good team. I am excited and praying. Sleep when the baby sleep. My vote is girl❤.
Congratulations beautiful 💗 I had my son at 43 and I'm now 52 and he's a beautiful healthy 9 year old! Even though my marriage didn't last, I felt that was the best decision for our son that's why I divorced his dad when he was a baby! It didn't feel right so I ended it and I'm glad I did! My son didn't have any bad effects from it because he was so young he's now asking questions now so that's getting tough because ex & husband is getting ready after 8 years since the divorce to re- but all I can do is be transparent with him and communicate with him as honestly as I can! So for all you new single mothers after divorce hang in there because God got us all! Everything evidently works out!🙏
My husband and I had our first and last child, in 2018. I was 40, and he was 44 at the time now married twenty years. I pushed her out ten minutes, after being induced , etc. She weighed 5 lbs 2 ounces no ICU or anything. Our daughter December is now five yrs of age. I was induced at 36 weeks, but was placed in the hospital a week in a half early. I went to a scheduled appointment and I dilated 1/2 cm., so I was kept. I have hbp but did not have preeclampsia. My bp did raise after I gave birth, and I stayed in the hospital basically a month. Five months later we flew back to Sicily. We were stationed there. Congratulations 🎊🎉..
Your eloquence, optimism, grace and honesty - I admire you so much, Dr. Nina! 🙏🏾✨ I love how thoughtfully prepared you and Sean are, thank you for sharing!
I’m team healthy, Holy Ghost filled, set aside for the glory and use of The Most High….boy or girl. Excited to see the journey that God has for them. Praying God’s best for you, dad, and baby.😊💗
The flexibility that comes with being a college professor is amazing! I currently work as an associate professor after working two decades in industry. Wish I had taken this career path when hubby and I were having children. You are truly blessed!!! 🙌🏽
I hate the term “married single mother “. I feel like lumping everything together causes terminology to lose it’s power. Being a single mom is being a single mom. Being a married woman whose husband doesnt pitch in as much as he should is being a married woman whose husband doesnt pitch in as much as he should. I come from a single parent home and i have no overlap of experience with my friends who had dads in the house that put most of the child rearing responsibilities on their mom. None! The experiences i had were things like : -extreme poverty because NO ONE else in the house except for my mother was bringing in income. That is rarely the case for married women with kids. Im sure it happens but it’s rarely the case. Usually if the father is in the home, he is bringing income in the house -there was no other child care option or other adult in the house at all. This means if my grandmother wasnt able to watch me, i was home alone. There wasnt a dad at all. I was my own babysitter from 3rd grade till i graduated. No other adult at all was able to make sure i didnt die -no other adult could help with anything. Not even picking up food from the grocery store or using the stove or holding a heavy box. Every adult thing that needed to be done had to be done by my mother by herself. -my mon never had a break. Again if my grandmother, who we had to take two buses to get to because we couldnt afford a car, wasnt available then i either had to be with my mother or alone. So that means my mom never got moments to herself. Like im sorry but these are not the experiences most married women with children are having no matter how much weaponized incompetence their husbands display. Just being able to take a 💩 for two seconds is something single mothers with no help are experiencing much more. And we water down this experience by including every mom who wants their husband to pitch in more with that. Being abandoned by the person you have a child with physically, financially, emotionally is so horrendous that i think we need a different term for the married ladies who need more help
This was just a bunch of words congealed into many different paragraphs. How could you hate a term that is in fact truthful for many women who are married but taking on ALL of the slack. Being married doesn’t give you a higher profile if your partner is just there. It’s been happening for decades and we have seen it with our grandparents, grandma cooking and cleaning, having 6-14 kids while the grandpa is out making families elsewhere. That is being a married single mother, it’s very common within the black community more than anything, this is a fact. You shouldn’t have to call in extra help if you’re married and have a helping partner.

Dr. Nina you are it…I love how you answered that question….I love you. This is why I send your video to my daughter… More people should think like this…you would not have kids that are out of control bad relationships single mother running around out of control. Dr Nina thank you for all you do….This is what a happy mommy and wife looks like I’m so happy for you and your family…You took time to put your life the way you wanted it…🎉Hello from NC
I love how ready and prepared you are. You and your husband are going to love this new journey. I have six kids and with my first child I was not as prepared as you are (I was 18 years old) I didn't have the support I needed as far as breastfeeding, birthing plans. 2nd child was a much better experience. Anywho congratulations again and I'm team GIRL!
That first question is me! 7 years later and I still co-sleep because of it. I don’t know how to correct it honestly. Without her feeling like I’m rejecting her. I have indeed let myself “go” in a lot of ways. I’m still trying to figure it out
I think you guys will be having a little boy 💙 you're both looking so healthy &' well, praying you have a safe rest of your pregnancy and birth Nina, lots of love 💙
Thank you so much for these Q& As. I happen to be a viewer who is childfree by choice, but as a woman (and educator) I am endlessly curious about the process of bringing life into the world. No guesses on the sex of the baby. Just so happy for you both, and the beautiful, healthy, and LOVED human you will bring into the world! 💖🙏👼
I am glad that the both of you get the chance to be at home with your baby. You all are going to have a great bonding time. When it's time to go back in person, you will be a bit apprehensive and very over protective. Just a little heads up.❤
Where have I been all this while? I didn't even know you were pregnant 🤰 and I hope it's not too late to congratulate you and hubby. Sending my love to you and the family ❤❤❤
Dr. Nina, love your authenticity and transparency in this episode. Thank you and congratulations 🎉. Success and more blessings in your new creation, I pray for smooth delivery and recovery. As always ❤ your channel.
Keep rocking! You're doing and looking amazing!!! Labor tip... Stay home moving and grooving as long as you can. Hip compression and lower back pressure can really help during contractions. Dance, sing and enjoy the process!!! Look into getting a chiropractic adjustments specifically for expecting mom. I'm excited for you!!!
Hey Dr. Nina, Congratulations! I'm sooo excited for you both! 🎉 I've been following you for quite some time, (many years) and I love your growth and admire your wisdom. Now for the baby's gender. I'm going with your mom on this. I believe it's a boy. I'm getting the male vibes. Flawless skin, baby looks to be sitting a little high, Yeah it's a boy... 😁🥰 Much Love, Peace and Blessings!!!
Hey, Dr. Nina. Thanks for sharing about your pregnancy. I agree with your mom, I think it's a beautiful baby boy! 💙 Congratulations to you and your husband. 🎉
Wonderful video 🤍 you both are already great parents ! I wanted to ask given all of your expertise in child psychology, how will you prevent yourself from psychologizing them? How do you deal with that in personal relationships too?
Hey Dr. Nina! Congratulations on your beautiful addition 🥰! As I'm watching this video, I am also typing this comment 😂. However, I think you are a having a boy 💚🩵💙💚💙🩵
Create the other around 2 1/2. Don't need two in pampers when babies didn't't come out at the same time. Plus the body needs to heal...9months to a 1 year
I’m not sure if you’ve answered this elsewhere, but how has being pregnant affected your HS symptoms? That’s something I’ve worried about as I’ve gotten older.
I’m so happy for you, may your little family be filled with many blessings! I love your setup, it’s so cute and organized, do you have a list of the equipment you use? I’m trying to look for a new set of studio lights. 😅

Now I'm team Nina Jr! But I am not going to bypass the "they"s dropped throughout this video .... as a fellow twinster - is it possible there could be twins?!? 😮😊
I let thw baby be baby on they schedule for about 2weeks then when i started running around doing stuff outside like shopping and such, I gave the baby our house schedule for balance. Thing to try 😊 find strength thru it all Sis 💪💪🎊💪😅💪😊🎊😊😊💪🎊🎊😅😍
I feel like you're having a boy. I'm also 40 and I'm pregnant but I wanted to ask you can you make a video of different skin types because I grew up thinking that I had eczema but I have like these black spots on my legs and my buttock area and I want to know how to take care of it. I'm moisturized and if I pick I do use alcohol and things like that and Band-Aids to cover it up. But I want to know how to manage and take care of it so it can go away and some lightning cream to use to get rid of the scarring. I don't know if it's because I drink milk or cheese or I really do not know why it comes but I know it doesn't look like eczema though
Congratulations BabyDoll n her BabysFather 😂. Q? What's your plans on visitors... Hand washing? Hand sanny or no touchy touchy 😁🧐... How long do you plan on staying in to help keep womb well and baby's immunity. I'm 40 yrs old and on my 8th baby and I follow advice of 2weeks in and in other countries they take a month with a live in nurse?? What's y'all (both mommy n daddy's) thoughts- well done Momma 🩷💙
