Contender 39ST did well, but it's a matter of experience in boat handling thru that inlet, been there many times, some good some not so good, rather hit Lake Worth / Port of Palm Beach depending on my position when going in.

For under 30 feet I'd pick the Whitewater 25. Over 30 it would be hard to choose between the Magbay or the Scout. Following are my one line opinions of each boat as they came through the inlet. Personally I would still pick a cat over a mono. Hopefully there will be a few different powercats come through on an "interesting" day in the future!
    .
    .
The first Yellowfin smashed through like a champ, but at 42' you'd almost expect that.
The Key West 239 was handling the _channel_ nicely, I'm guessing he turned around when he saw the waves at the bar. (Smart man!)
The Bluewater 2550 was pounding a bit. Probably a bit _TOO_ rough out there for that size.
The Everglades 435 went through like a boss!
That 39 Contender went through like a hot knife through butter, so far my favorite although personally I'd do without the tower.
27 foot SeaHunt proving that size doesn't always matter!
That Intrepid driver was _really_ pounding the heck out of his passengers, I was expecting a better showing from the 327 Nomad (sad face).
Boston Whaler Outrage 320, what else needs to be said about a company that is probably in the top 3 for the quality and seaworthiness of their mono-hulls?
The SeaVee 322Z handled the inlet very nicely, although the driver should be scolded since NONE of the bowriders seemed to be wearing PFDs.
That Competition 35 seemed to be having trouble riding the waves in, then you showed how underpowered it is. I'd want twin 300's and (almost) anything but a 'Rude!
That Whitewater 25 came in _VERY_ nicely, especially given the size. So far the best under 30 foot boat.
Venture 34 gave a good showing, VERY nice in fact given the size of the power on it!
The Sportsman 252 was bouncing almost as much as the Bluewater.
Looked like the Edgewater 318 came close to taking some water as they were coming past the end of the breakwater.
Do all Cobia's slap like the 277 was. or was that a combination of the weather and the driver?
Scout 330 LXF, beautiful boat and I love their bowflare. Some thumping but most of the landings were relatively soft.
And the Magbay 33 immediately showed why that flare is a _very_ nice thing to have! Very nice looking boat from stem to stern!
The Invincible 39 came through like Jupiter Inlet was their own personal playground. Quite smooth until they hit the swells at the bar.
Oh FFS, that SeaPro 208 has no business being out in that crap! It doesn't have the freeboard or length to be in blue water.
That Bahama 37 wanted to make sure you got a good look at how beautiful it is LOL

Bluewater 2550 is a 2 piece hull. That boat was a 3pc which means 23T. Seavee had a center rear live well. 322 has them in the corners. That SeaVee is a 320z not a 322z

  • @Georgie12248

I watched it twice. Tough choice. The captain makes a big difference. Having said that, it's either Yellowfin or Boston Whaler. If I can only go for one, it's YF.

A lot of them rode the waves like a boss. Others, not so much.
Is it the boat? Is it the captain? Double points off for going airborne and slamming down into the next wave. Herniated disks and snap your boat in half.

Been boating for decades, been caught in some pretty big seas at times. In center consoles, I personally think that you can't beat Contenders and Intrepids (I do also have to admit that the bow flare on that Magbay was pretty sweet! :-) )

  • @dougsprojects6431
    @dougsprojects6431 3 года назад

Did they all have the same captain? No.
    Then you have no comparison.
Where they all the same length? No.
mid they all have the same horse power? No
    Then you have no comparison.
Was the conditions the same for all runs? No.
    Then you have no comparison.
Where they all done coming and going? No.
    Then you have no comparison.
Other wise it just boils down to personal preference and not an actual performance test.
Now base on what I have seen in multiple videos, I tend to like what I see the Contender does all the way around.
I like the looks of the Midnight Express, but I think the Contender out preforms it.
That's my $22.50 cents worth of opinion....

All that "like and subscribe" graphics nonsense was really poorly timed and placed for watching that beautiful YF. Do better. What is this Bravo or Animal Planet? Gonna hit us with 3rd screen ad banners every 30 seconds?
If you MUST do a bunch of graphics and crap it may be better to do it in the sky instead of...you know, over the hulls/waves...
