Hey, I feel you, it's a hard chord. I wanted to tell you that there is a way to play that "bar chord" shape except you're not barring down the strings and you get a nice open voicing. Something I’ve found helpful is knowing basic chord construction and having a fretboard diagram that lists all the notes. If a chord is difficult to play in the “conventional way”, break it into it’s 3 primary notes. Then look at combinations of those notes on the fretboard to figure out alternative ways to play. I’ve also found, as shown here, that “7ths” are usually good alternatives and I like the sounds of them.

Thank you so much for this! I've been looking for alternatives in playing certain chords while practicing. Years ago I suffered a hand injury that damaged my finger knuckles (PIPs), and so I physically cannot form certain traditional chords. Despite this, I am still powering through to play music :)
