Arm wrestling strength and muscles are very specific and typically aren't trained at all by most muscular looking guys. If you don't have enough strength in the small muscles, tendons and ligaments of your wrists, hands and fingers then anyone with a stronger hand can deny you of all the strength in the rest of your arm and torso. Basically, going against someone with nothing but armwrestling muscles it will look like they're way weaker but feel like they're infinitely stronger if you're way more muscular everywhere else but haven't built your armwrestling muscles. Also, looking strong is not always the same as being strong. Biomechanics 101.

Schoolboy had that look coming in at a good 280lbs. That's 280lbs with a flat stomach and most of the extra weight being in the upper body. Larry was a little under 270lb there and a lot of that mass is in his legs. Most gamers here would shit their pants if they saw schoolboy's massive athletic frame in person. Cameras don't do it justice.
I don't know of you implying Larry just looks strong..., but the guy is actually a monster the muscles are not just for show, he holds several world records in strength competions, arm wrestling is not his thing he would need years to train the technique and the muscle specifics
@@Tailong you're right, Larry is plenty strong overall and even his grip is quite good but he has a long way to go in terms of his hand strength which is the main thing keeping him from reaching the top level right now (and ultimately he will also need to get his upper body bigger too, as weird as that sounds). His technique is plenty good already and he seems to be a prodigy when it comes to learning new movement patterns but he just seems extremely weak in the hand relative to top pullers.

Your opponent doesn't ever end up breaking your arm. You do. If you apply pressure that rotates your humerus, you'll break it. There's nothing your opponent does does to cause that.

I watch, love, and arm wrestle often. you can slip to get the strap but the strap is not to prevent the loser from slipping and re doing the match. in fact, if both players agree to use the strap then its an instant strap round. the strap provides actual benefits for the arm wrestlers. some guys dont want it, others do. some guys are better with the strap, some guys aren't. thats why you have to try to get it. if youre opponent is better with the strap, you dont want to let him have it obviously

Yeah. Pro arm wrestling is kinda lame imo. Obviously the guys are insanely strong, but I remember the first time I saw it I was like, "wtf was that?"

I watch, love, and arm wrestle often. you can slip to get the strap but the strap is not to prevent the loser from slipping and re doing the match. in fact, if both players agree to use the strap then its an instant strap round. the strap provides actual benefits for the arm wrestlers. some guys dont want it, others do. some guys are better with the strap, some guys aren't. thats why you have to try to get it. if youre opponent is better with the strap, you dont want to let him have it obviously

@@-Sober- Ya, and people who are better with the strap will intentionally slip out of the grip. The strap will then be put in place because its entire purpose is to stop hands from slipping out.

Plus, for this thread, its possible to slip out of the strap by both hands rising up out of it. But I expected this shit from kids who no 0 about this sport.
