------------------------------
The Irish Rebellion of 1798 was a popular insurrection against the British Crown, organised primarily by the Society of the United Irishmen, initially composed of Belfast Presbyterians and later united with the country's Catholic majority. Its aims were to create a republic, but attempts at reform were thwarted by British oppression. The rebellion began in May 1798, with uprisings in several regions, including counties Carlow, Wexford, Antrim, Down, Meath and Kildare. Despite support from the French Republic, the rebels were defeated in August, and French intervention failed to unite significant resistance forces. The rebellion concluded in October with the defeat of the French and the capture of their leader, Wolfe Tone. As a result, the Act of Union of 1801 dissolved the Irish parliament and united Ireland with the United Kingdom. Over time, the legacy of the rebellion has been interpreted in different ways by nationalists, republicans and unionists, and remains a topic of debate, especially in the context of the 1998 "Good Friday" agreement.

aprendan escoceses, aprendan de los irlandeses como se defiende una nación.
El grado de presión que ha ejercido Inglaterra es diferente, no es lo mismo desindustrializar en una década que matar de hambre por siglos a los habitantes de una determinada región.
